EVE-MEEP Version 2 The Eve-Online Multiuse Economic Efficiency Planner
Visit the temporary website Here! Eve-meep 1 thread can be found Here.
After a month and a few hundred hours of work, I present the next generation of Eve-Meep!
Eve-Meep is the host for a wide array of tools that provide the vital calculations necessary for any serious industrialist. Everything from mining, to production, back to reprocessing. Eve-meep privides you with the information necessary to maximize your profits over time and streamline your business. Keep track of blueprints, inventories, and use that information to plan out what jobs will happen when and where on the new timeline scheduler. Find out all the resources you need for any amount of jobs with the new Bill of Materials. Calculate how much materials cost by reading market logs, then save the cost of producing items for fture calculations. Share Xml data containing inventories, blueprints, or prices with corp mates or friends. The actual calculators come as plugins that are just dropped into the proper folder, allowing for third party designing of calculators (for a third party tool).
Requires the .Net Framework 2.0 to run
Old Features: -Easy to use -Loads your Characters XML data -Create unlimited files to keep track of blueprints -All numbers displayed with formatting to make it easier to read -All default prices for materials can be edited and the changes will be there everytime you load the program -Import and Export price data to xml files to pass around to your friends -Automaticly reads exported market info and will set default prices for you
New Features: -All calculators are now plugins! Adding new calculators or new version is as easy as putting the dll in the right folder -Create unlimited inventory files to keep track of resources and items
-Bill of materials: after you calculate what you need to produce an item, add it to the Bill of Materials! Add up needed materials from any amount of production jobs, and get a total amount of resources. You can then subtract those materials from any inventory files you have.
-Details of items: Look up items and find out details about them, along with what blueprints need them -Application now resizes properly (however certain plugins may not be perfect)
-Timeline: Putting the P in Eve-MEEP. Keep track of production, research, or copy jobs that may be running, and where. Schedule jobs to run at the first availible date, or any date in the future, assuming its availible (it will check this too!). View jobs over a day, week, month, or year of production! Plan the details of your business! Features still to come here are filters for types of jobs and cumulative data on all jobs over spans of time.
Current Version: 2.1.1.0 Source Code: Comming Soon(tm) ------

EVE-MEEP Plugins
When using plugins, only trust those that you get from the Eve-Meep website. Since everything is open-source, I cannot be held accountable if you get a plugin from somewhere else and it contains a keylogger or trojan. This list of plugins will be updated with all the approved plugins available at the website.
Tech 1 Production Calculator Version 1.0.0 Computes the cost, profit margins, runs till profit of tech 1 blueprints. Computes with skills and Research levels, and also lets you compare your cost to build versus the perfect cost. Uses station standing to accuratly predict production costs at NPC stations.
Multicomponent Calculator Version 1.0.0 Formerly the Tech 2 calculator. Does everything the tech 1 calculator does, but for any blueprint in the game (including tech 1 items). Right click items to look up details.
Mining Calculator Version 1.0.0 Computes Mining numbers, both amount of materials mined and the profit made from selling the raw or refined product. Now is more accurate in letting you pick your ship, and also pick the lasers you use, rather than having to calculate that on your own. Works for NPC stations and POS structures.
POS Fuel Calculator Version 1.0.0 Computes fuel requirements for Player Owned Stations, taking into account the size, race, and online moduals. Calculates cost by Hour, Day, Week, Month. Allows you to also fit a POS.
Reprocessing Calculator Version 1.0.0 Computes the amount of base materials you get from reprocessing items.
Invention Calculator Version 1.0.0 Predicts the percentage of success for invention jobs. ------

Edited by: Salvis Tallan on 20/01/2007 22:22:32 The plans for version 2.2.x.x are already in the works with the last feature that was not ready yet. Also some more timeline tools, like the ability to see all resources needed over a span of time. And all the standard bug fixes. There will always be a full download and the individual plugins, and links for individual plugins will be made avalable shortly. ------

Looks very cool: a few items, suggestions.
Blueprints/inventory. IF you don't have a xml file from version 1, you have to create a blank file to add blueprints, etc...
Capital Ship construction: Component / mineral costs? Is this a plugin that can be created?
Other than that.. you seem to have a very cool program..

Only today was I playing with the previous version, wanting it to do some more things...and heres the new one!
Some questions/suggestions:
Essentially I want to be able to have a single list of my mineral stocks, and then when I take a BP and produce a run, it takes that away from the stock etc. Can it do that? I haven't figured it out if it can...
Is it possible that in the tech1 calculator, it defaults to ONLY show the BPs that you've loaded in the inventory? It annoys me having to search through every BP in the game when I've already spent ages entering my BPs.
It also seems that my skills didn't load through to the Tech1 calculator page, I had to update those myself.. |

Thankfully this is all something the new version has! I'll put the steps here for anyone who is confused.
1. Make an inventory file, under the file->New Inventory->Items, or hit Ctrl+I. 2. Name it whatever you want. 3. On the Inventory tab page, make sure the file is selected, and click the add button. 4. Add in all the items in your inventory. If your confused on an item, click the blue 'i' and the information on that item will come up. Once the item is in the table, right click it to see info on it again. 5. Once you have all your items into the inventory, go to the tech 1 calc or multicomponent. Make something. 6. Click the 'Add to Bill' button. All the needed resources will now be added to your bill of materials. If you want to do multiple blueprints, do them now too (with the bill window still open) and just keep adding them to the bill. 7. On the Bill of Materials window, select the inventory file from the dropdown menu, and click 'Accept Bill'. If your missing any of the components, or dont have enough, they will turn red. If everything is ok, it will be deducted from your inventory!
If you've entered Blueprints into a blueprint inventory file (Ctrl+B to make a new one), click the blue 'i' next to the combobox that lists blueprints on the calculators. It will bring up a window where you can select the blueprint you own that you want to manufacture. It will also fill in all the things like ME, PE, and cost. ------

I think the cursor is jumping because everything you change the text it checks to see if it a number or not, and '2,' is not. Try doing 21 then putting the comma in between. I tried putting a station standing part in (and I have the code for it still) but it was not working properly and didnt quite function properly. I will continue to play round with this and try to get it in for you. ------

Make sure you have a blueprint inventory open (ctrl+b to make a new one), add them in, then in the tech 1 calculator click the blue 'i' next to the combo box. It'll bring up a window where you select the inventory file and blueprint you want to use. I will add an option for loading inventory files on start up. ------

On the left of this website there is a link named 'My Character'. click it, then select your character. From there there is a link at the top of the page with your stats named 'XML Data'. Right click, save-as, then put it somewhere you'll remember (like the evemeep resources folder). When you tell the program to load it (file->load character) it will remember wher eit is an load it every time it starts up.
It occurs to me that I need to write a help file. Either a help menu through the app or something standalone. In the meantime I will continue to answer questions here. ------

In the multicomponent calculator, photon microprocessors are not listed as an ingredient(part) to buildin the prototype cloak, the rest is correct.

Wow, this tool is coming along nicely, congratulations. A few issues, though:
- The MultiComponent Calculator doesn't account for PE of the blueprints (ie, you can change the value, it doesn't change the displayed production time)
- Transport ships production time depends on the "Industrial Construction" skill, but this skill is not listed in the MultiComponent Calculator (and I assume is ignored)
...and a couple suggestions:- Add a choice of assembly line type, to account for POS/outposts specific bonus.
- Add a 'volume' column to the cost calculators in calculators (as seen on the POS Calculator), for those who run production/research etc. in POS, where hauling/volume is an issue.
Great work overall, a potential standard (if the code was to be released).

I remember this one coming up in V1.0 but cant remember if there was a solution to it. When i load a character xml file into eve-meep 2, it still pics one of my other characters name on that account. Although it does load the correct skills.
Also, is it possible to get the characters skills to load as a skill tree like they appear in EVE, rather than one long list of skills.
Apologies if these have been dealt with b4.

I made an alt to test this when I was writing v2 (and get market logs from Jita), and it loads both characters fine. Do you have 3 characters? On another note, it saves characters you have opened during the session so you can easily switch between 2. ------

Excellent tool u've made for us
I seem to have an issue on my Danish Windows though - when importing market prices, it multiplies with 100 which is a bit inconvenient guess it has something to do with the column separator or other international setting.

Ben, the way is to export a market log and import it into the program. Using Tools-> compile feature, and then you can select what method you want.
Deana, maybe it thinks that the .0 at the end of the numbers means something. Does changing the method change the problem? ------

nice, one of the best profit calculators i've seen so far. however, is it possible to consider drones into the calculation and whether or not there is a gang support present mining foreman link - laser optimization and whether or not that person has the implant, also if the miner has the mining implants or not could be nice too.
if it had those i'ld call it a perfect profit calculator
keep up the very good work mate

It doesn't make any difference if I import or compile the prices. Are you using the separator settings from the regioinal settings, or are you using a fixed setting where "," is the column separator, and "." is decimal separator? Because Eve uses a fixed setting and not the regional settings, giving a incorrect csv format for us non-uk users

Good question, Ill have to check. Most likly it defaults to the computers settings and ill need to override that. However, when we were having the problem with the default prices giving errors to French, German, and other users, the compile prices option always seemed to fix it even tho it is exported one way and their system was set another way. ------
