Edited by: Zatch on 27/01/2007 18:17:08 Edited by: Zatch on 27/01/2007 18:15:40 Although I'm not sure if it works the same in VB.NET as it does in VB6 (I'm using VB6), I know of one particularly quick way of finding your decimal/digit separator symbols without relying on any Windows API functions:
decSep = Format$(0.1, ".") If decSep = "," Then digSep = "." Else digSep = "," End If decSepASCII = Asc(decSep)
Where decSep and digSep are Strings, decSepASCII is an Integer. I used decSepASCII for the key validation process (checking to see if the user pressed the "." key, for example, and then checking if one already exists in the string.) One limitation of course is the fact that it only handles periods/commas, but I have yet to receive any complaints about that.
You don't actually need these for output, only for validating user input keys. The CDbl() function will parse data from files correctly, regardless of the regional settings, and I believe the Format$() function should be able to produce proper output regardless of the regional settings, but I haven't turned to using that yet. ----- MLCalc Creator HW2/EVE Mod Team Leader |

Thanks for the help Zatch, its a creative solution. I'm actually using C#, though it translates easily enough. I should actually be able specify which global syntax to use when parsing a string to a double/decimal. Ill give this a shot once I release the next version, and we will see if this helps. ------

I have finished up converting the asp site back to html, and the new website www.eve-meep.com is up! Things may change around a bit while I continue playing with it. Still to add are the sites about the version 2 source, I'm not very good at legalese... ------

Hi, I'm new to EVEmeep. Seems a really well made tool. I'm sure there is a way to save your mineral prices, but I can't seem to figure it out . Any help is appreciated.

Thanks Mdram, the more I use the mining calc, the more bugs I find with it... very annoying.
Kua: To export your prices file, go to Tools->Prices->Export Prices. This will create an XML file in your resources folder with all the prices (and it will load this file every time the app loads). To import someone else's file, use Tools->Prices->Import Prices.
The buy prices in the reprocessing calculator come from the window at Tools->Prices->Mining, if you want to set them manually. Otherwise there is a way to have eve-meep read exported market logs (Tools->Prices->Compile Prices). Just export the minerals from your region, choose your prefered mathmatical method, and let it run. Remember to export afterwards to make sure it saves.
Yes, there are many strange items and items whos names do not match up perfectly, and I think you might be right on the cloak. ------

Thanks for the quick response Salvis and thank you for the enormous amount of time you've obviously put into this. Thanks especially for making it publically available ^^.

This is odd - I'm still getting a buy price even when I set all the buy prices for minerals to zero.

Is it displaying the buy price or the sell price? I just set them all to 0, clicked apply, and everything is 0 now. Also if your looking at the multicomponent, you need to change it so itll refresh. ------

False alarm sorry. After checking a few other items that was the exception rather than the rule. For example 'Pimp 350mm Railgun I' comes up with a buy price, as does ' Arbalest' Cruise Launcher I' and '200mm Light 'Jolt' Autocannon I'.
It seems kind of random.

It could be random-ish. When the app is checking for a price on an item, it first checks to see if it is one of the base minerals, if that check fails it may go on to check the currently loaded prices file, and THEN depending on that check failing it defaults over to the base price that is included in the data dump. Its entirely possible that the first check is zero, but instead of sticking with that number it goes further and gets a wrong value. I'll look into this and test it a few different ways. If you keep testing and come upon a pattern let me know! ------

Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but I believe I found a bug...
In the Tech 2 Calculator... The "Amount of Runs" field ignores the last digit entered. For example... If I enter 100 runs, the calculations are all for 10 runs. If I enter 1234, they'll be for 123.
This is a great program Salvis. I'm new to Eve and this helps take a lot of the guesswork out of developing a indy character...

All the data files were provided by the devs in a dev blog when kali first came out. Then its just a simple matter of finding what you need in what files and writing program to read it all. ------

So once again the website asploaded in FF but its fixed now for both IE and FF. I updated most of the pages at this point, especially the downloads page. When I release new versions of plug-ins (like very soon) or once I finally get the source out there and others want to write plug-ins, You can go to that page to view/download plug-ins individually. I will also keep the post here on the thread updated, but I wont post the links here. ------

I am loving the potential of your work, and have made a note to drop some ISK your way in the near future, but my question is this: Is there a file kept in my EVE folder somewhere that shows my BPOs in a way that can be imported so that I don't have to type the name of every single BPO that I own into MEEP?
Regardless, great work. Thank you for doing, and for making it available.

I'll say that I love this product once again!
Few questions:
Is there a file I can edit to edit blueprints? Is there a way that I could make my own blueprints?
The primary reason I'm asking is that the recent change to scan probes, and I'm sure getting the program updated isn't you first priority. If this is possible or was implemented it would enable me to work around it till you get a chance to update the program.
Thanks and keep up the great work! - Jacq Serenity is worth fighting for! |

Thank you for the positive feedback! First, Responses: Malena, I do not believe there is any kind of file like that, altho you could probably get fancy with the logserver. I just dont think it would be worth it. If CCP put in a way to export your assets page, then it would be great (add that to the exporting of wallet data)!
Jacqueline, right now you can only really edit the Tech 1 items. If you use the Tools->Data menus you can edit all the information there, and it will resave it to the data files. I just havent gotten around to making those forms work for any other items besides the basics.
Now for the new stuff: ****Eve-meep Version 2.1.2.1**** New Features: -Timeline now has a selection tool. Click a job to see details about it, or select many jobs and get information on all of them at once. -When multiple production jobs are selected, you can view total requirements. This will help everyone who has many BPs producing 24/7 and need to figure out how many of what minerals are needed for any length of time! Bugfixes: -Fixed bug with changing Mineral and POS Fuel prices -Set the Marketlog compiler to use english-US syntax when reading files, *should* fix issues importing -Fixed issue with eve-meep loading the wrong character name, but correct skills
POS Calculator 1.2.0 -Now will price out your POS for you! As you add modules, it will add their prices to the total cost of the station. Mining Calculator 1.2.0 -Fixed an issue with it not computing based on cargo size. -Upload your Quickfit Setup! When you go to choose your ship, the last option on the list will let you load the Quickfit Xml file of your ship! Now we really can find out things like which Battleship mines the fastest. Also will load and mining upgrades.
The link in this thread, and the full download on the website for the new version contain these plug-ins.
General News:
Number one on my priority list is getting the source code out there. However, problems with the website have been stalling me. I think its been rewritten about 4 times this week. I need to write the pages for it all, but at the very least I will be able to just zip up the code and throw it out there. I would like to be able to set up an SVN of some sort for the host, but I have no idea how. If anyone knows how and can walk me through it, I would greatly appreciate it. This way, everyone who wants to can help me write Eve-Meep's host and make it even better. Plug-ins will be slightly different as anyone can go and make their own. More details about these processes once I finally get the darn pages done. ------

Edited by: 0raven0 on 02/02/2007 23:11:52 The prices for mins will not stay edited when i leave the program and come back. I tried editing the xml prices file but that didn't work.
Any trick to getting this to work? I thought all you had to do was change the prices its done.
oh btw, i found an error with the mining upgrades part. If you put on a mining upgrade it lowers your mining yield instead of raising it the first time, if you raise it again it goes back to what it was originally and every time you raise it after that it works properly. To get it to work at level 1 I have to raise it to level 2 and then bring it back down to level 1, that seems to work.

When editing mineral prices, make sure you use the Tools->Prices->Mining form, not the individual calculators. The calcs wont save the prices so in case you want to play around with numbers, you dont lose the saved prices. Thanks for finding the bug too, ill get a fix version out
The link on the website was wrong, but I just checked the link in the thread and it worked fine for me. Is eve-files loading? ------

First of all - Great Program! Many thanks for all the work you have put into this. A Huge Help.
Now the problem
Your solution doesn't seem to work. With one of the recent patches the mineral requirements for probes, at least - I haven't checked anything else yet, changed. I follow your instructions for changing the mineral requirements, hit SAVE and the response: Quote: *If anything is in red text, this will not work! Check over all information before adding.
As I am now locked up, I can not change anything, though I have no idea what I would change.
Help please

That red text comes up when the numbers are not formatted properly. Make sure it either a solid number (123456 insted of 123,456) in the text boxes, or what you have entered is formatted correctly for your regional settings (commas, spaces, decimal points, ect). I will be comming out with a new version with these changes soon[tm], along with some fixes for the currently unworking g15 support. ------

Thx for the fast response. I don't see how that could be the case. I'm highlighting the existing number and replacing it with another number. No decimals or commas or anything.
Maybe there is some none intuitive protocal? Like I have to tab from field to field instead of mouse highlighting?
Going to go mess with it some more.

Just checked, no joy.
Closed and reloaded program.
Pulled up a BP, used only the Tab and the numbers pad until I tabbed over SAVE. Still red.
Tried the non-key pad numbers, still red.
Tried just changing the price of the BP, the first field below the BP name, still red.
Something somewhere is totally hinked.
