ISS Official Announcement: Closure of ISS Public Outpost Corps
It is with a heavy heart that the ISS must close the Outpost Corporations; Marginis, Borealis, Providence, Cassini.
Theses corporations were a land-mark in the development of EvE, and changed our games face, possibly for all time.
As series of firsts from running the worlds first IPO in any MMO, to the first publically open outposts and first Gallente Station on Tranquility. Importantly, it was the first time in EvE that 'the public' of our community banded together to jointly build infrastructure.
The public outposts were a catalyst to the colonisation of 0.0 space by smaller corps, indvidual pilots and the support they gave to the ISS enabled many, many more corporations to grow through our ranks to join regional alliances.
The Marginis IPO established the Base Standard to which an IPO business plans are held. Each successive IPO raised the bar and spawned an entire Financial industry in EvE, as diverse as stock exchanges, asset investments, BPO investments, noob wandering pilot investments, character investments, and let's not forget scams!
On behalf of the ISS, I wish to thank all the people who supported the outposts either politically or through direct investment in the IPOs. Each individual corporation (ISSMO, ISSBO, ISSPO, ISSCA) has been offered a vote to exchange to ISSO shares (threads linked on corp tickers). The ISS has arranged this offer to investors based on the ISK and assets the alliance has built up in the years since forming prior to launching the ISSO IPO.
The ISS Alliance has already started steps to move on, and will continue trading and developing through the ISSO for it's shareholders, taking the lessons learned from the past and into a bright Future using new ideas.
Have you ever seen a sunrise over Tenerifis? Hint: It's Red!
To Discuss the individual offers, please use these threads ISSMO ISSBO ISSPO ISSCA

Sorry to see that it had to come to this. I honestly am. It was a great concept and I hope another project can take its place.
Good luck!

In these troubled times would you consider purchasing an outpost a good deal?

You should probably thank AAA, GOONS and D2 while you are there.
Sad to see a part of Eve history close, but ISS (and investors) should feel proud of the stations they built even if they are called something else.

It's sad to see something like the ISS initiative go through something like this. Call it what you want, show that emotions and ego rule Eve, nvm, some people in this thread already did this ;-)
Look at the essence of ISS, call it fake neutrality, call it whatever you want, but in no other MMO, a concept like the ISS has has ever been successfully deployed. I know IAC has public outpost, but not in the way the ISS had. That concept is now mostly gone, and with it a real piece of worldwide MMO history. Good job at tearing it down. Fortunately, the ISS has a new plan, again public and player owned. Considering the growth of stations and the market opportunities, it might well be that the ISS grows bigger then ever, at least in ISK transactions, we will see where it ends. If you think ISS lost, time for some lessons in economics..
It was a blast flying with you ISS, may profit surround you in the future.

Doesn't this post pretty much mean it did fail in the end? Correct me if I'm wrong. Good attempt though! As someone said above, claiming neutral can only last so long.

How about you IAC douchebags sit this one thread out, and go suck AAA, TCF, NCA, Goonie, and whoever else's***** you had to suck to get bailed out? That's pretty much all your alliance is good for these days.
IAC is the one alliance in all of Eve who has lost multiple stand-up fights to ISS after their little back-stab attack. Just go back to hauling stront and mining ice for AAA.

Good luck luck to everyone involved and respect. I have won and lost a fair share of fights with ISS pilots throughout my Eve carreer so far and if, as the Ancient Greeks (I think) said, you only die when you are forgotten then I think ISS will never die.
