I seem to suffer cursor issues when in station, its almost like its lagging, cause it moves fine but then jumps back to where it was a couple of seconds before

Skills no longer gain experience when actually using that skill. People also called this autotraining.
Rest of the issues i have seen mentioned already.
Castor looks nice and very promising though

'Long log-ins' (where it sometimes downloads missing-information from the sever when logging-in) that used to take 2-3mins with previous patches, now takes 15-20mins for my 56k. Also these 'long log-ins' seem to happen more often than before.
This has been confirmed with other players (from the UK) with faster connection speeds than my 56k.
The crash when being near a jumpgate - usually while approaching to jump - (the game freezes up) happens a lot more than it did before. It probably happened 6+ times for me yesterday.

Info about an item doesn't show it's volume. No longer possible to figure out if I have to bring expanders when getting items for my agent.

Edited by: Gigo on 18/12/2003 12:29:00 STACKING Drag an item in to a can and try to drop it on a stack of similar items. The display show 2 stacks (the existing stack size has been updated, but the new items are show as well in their own stack). Hit STACK ALL and you get an exception. Do a SORT and you get an exception. Do a REFRESH (CONTENT I think) and the second stack disappears and all is well again.
FITTING Still getting problems with items (particularly turrets) CPU usage not being modified correctly if you remove and then refit them. You still have to switch to another ship, then back again before the CPU usage is corrected. On some ships & loadouts this can mean that if you remove everything from your ship you cannot then refit them (unless you know about the ship-swapping trick).
Also, if you fit/remove a weapon upgrade, your turrets stats (ROF, Damage, Tracking) are not adjusted until you remove and refit the turret (which is what makes the above such an issue).
Both of these fitting issues are old bugs, but they are still there and still annoying.

Edited by: Ruffles on 18/12/2003 12:53:12 I agree the login part with
Get Roles
Etc has seemed to extend for those of us on 56k modems, quite considerably. It does happen more often, but that also seems to happen if you close the game down and try to re-run the game, it will almost always re-perform that cache download. If you wait a few minutes before re-running the game that sometimes doesn't do it. Fastest I have had that download part occur is 7/8 minutes so far. Pretty slow to be honest.
Wallet: If you change tabs from Transactions to Journal and back again, it seems to be completely reloading the Transactions part, rather then loading the cached view it did previously. Same happens every time you go to a tab that you have already viewed this session.
The transactions tab also always always used to reset to the first tab if a transaction happened. This IS EXTREMELY annoying when trying to reconsile lots of transactions with the Corp Wallet. Please please please don't do this. Sure, if we click on the Transactions tab again, refresh it, but until then its just really annoying to take forever to browse back lots and lots of pages to start reconsiling one transaction, and then its back at page one again and you don't know what you were reconsiling.
Edit: What would be nice would be something like bookmarking the last transaction you reconsiled, so you could easily return to it, and progress from that point onwards rather then having to search and try to match values and sale types to a particular transaction.
Session Change: Also occurs if you change ship and then try to exit a station. Message comes up after the screen starts fading to black, and you are back in station. If you ok, wait a little longer, then try again you can undock.
Fitting: When you try to drag-and-drop an item to your ship, if it fails to meet X requirements it gives you multiple error dialogs for that same error. Please, only give one error dialog box, its got a memo on it, summarise all the errors as to what equipment won't turn online and why. We don't need more then one modal dialog box to have to click ok on. It would be more helpful to have that information on only one dialog.

Warp distances seem to be much more heavily impacted by capacitance and mass. With one 10MN MWD fitted to it can just about struggle to warp the same distances as a kestrel, and the kestrel pre-patch had one of the worst warp distances of any frigate. Pods would out warp a kestrel.
I haven't tried some battleships, sorry, but some cruisers are suffering. Sure, at 3AU they can cover those 40 AU faster, but that doesn't really compensate, as then they have virtually no cap, and are having to short-hop the remaining distances to gates.
Might be that with the changes, the warp distances of these ships might need a little looking at.

Warp to distance xxx
Corp mate and I both got podded last night when the warp to 50km did not work. We were going back for our loot having warped to 50k's on the first visit, on the return trip I appeared right in the middle of the roids and the 7/8 Rats.
Anyone else seen this problem ?

Edited by: Ruffles on 18/12/2003 14:59:23 Some blueprints now display the Perfect minerals besides the bill of materials required minerals identified by You.
Unfortunately, the information shown besides You is wrong. Either it isn't taking into account the Mineral level of the blueprint, or my Production Efficiency, which is 5, so it should be showing the Perfect for me? Or have I got that wrong?
EDIT: The numbers don't quite add up, but I think its trying to say that it thinks I have Production Efficiency 0 (Zero). Its the closest set of figures I can come too.
Sadly, it isn't showing this information for all characters, but I don't know if that is perhaps just a cache thing.

Edited by: Siphol Kalarth on 18/12/2003 16:33:09 Omen trails are offset.
They arn't on chaos, but on TQ they are. It seems like the "stacked ship" graphic anomaly I've seen in the past. When cloaking for a warp there appears to be the ghost of a second Omen model half merged into the one I can normally see. The trails match up with the ghost perfectly.
Edit: I should note: Trails are fine before warping, on entering warp the ship will noticably shift upwards.
I keep faith, it's only what I believe in that changes.

When you do show detail on missions it occasionally comes up with the text for the wrong mission - usually (always?) one you'd completed earlier.
Mission title is correct in the journal, just the text is wrong. Repeatedly closing and reopening the journal will eventually fix it. [bug reported]
Second the above complaints about cpu usage on fitting (also often curable by moving weapon from one turret to another!) - and green 'online' lights still often take two 'fittings' to come on.
Oh and in the really minor typo bug stakes, my agent often says "Thank you for your assisstance"... ;-)

Not had this happen to me, but quite a few people I have spoken to have had cans destroyed from missile damage during missions. When the ship is destroyed that same blast seems to also be killing the cargo cans dropped.
Any changes to that area of code happened, or drop in the hits of the cargo containers?

UI bugs:
Ship cargo closing sometime when I dock on station.
Pined windows aparently closing when session change and are unpined.
Places loads really slow if bookmarks are out of folders. Game freezes when open P&P with selected Places until bookmarks are loaded.

Some bugs which crossed my way:
- the engine flames disappear sometimes when entering Warp (not the trails, the flames out of your drives, donŠt know is this has been intended) and donŠt come back after exiting warp.
- you annot change the radar range, seems to be struck at 200km diameter (bad in close range combat)
- sec cons have the same UI icon as normal cargo cons, last version it was more easy to find loot cons in a field of anchored cons
- pirate special locations donŠt spawn rats

Skill Training -
Before the patch it took 5-6 days to train a rank 1 skill from 4 to 5. Now it takes 7+ days. My Attributes show the original numbers from Char creation. I always thought this was a display bug but now it seems to actually effect my skill learning. Learning skill are no longer effecting my training times |

Hangers: Noticed that dragging newly built products, or blueprints from a hanger, to your ship cargo seems to lock/freeze the display for a second or two.
Quite a few things seem to be causing this Lock/Freeze of the screen fresh, opening other windows, ganging with other people, etc.
Not sure if you made changes to any of the screen paints but they do seem to be just waiting until some other operation has occured.

When you are warping to a station in order to dock and do not have enough Cap to warp there in one warp, the ship wants to set course to dock instead of beginning another warp to the station first. (Distance was 8 au, when ship wanted to dock) Do not know if this is just after patch, but would also be nice if this works.

I am still hearing from friends that two installs of eve on one computer, both running windowed will work fine if both characters are docked, but if one is undocked and in space, the other (not the currently active one) will CTD.
Seemed to start happening after one of the more recent 12xx patches I believe, possibly 1238 someone said from memory.

JIP/cloaking: If you jump into a 0.0 system you appear uncloaked most times! Same happening in systems >0.0 sec if you JIP in midspace. Other mates reported that even though they logged off at a secure BM they reappeared at a gate. Lost already several ships due to this bug :/
When you manage to have JIP at the "designated" place (the gate) you are cloaked as you should be.
Targetting-time: Appears to be totally broken! My BB was insta-locked and destroyed by a group of player-rats in BSs last eve. Shouldnt their targetting time take longer the smaller the object is??
Warp-to object (right mouse-click): doesnt work (at least for me) most of the time.
CTDs are back :/ Crashed all 15 minutes ... and it was soooo stable be4 :( ***********************************************

1) Training skills by equipping items and flying arouns (auto-training) no longer works with Basic Cargo Expanders, Basic Overdrive Injectors and other modules.
2) My level 3 agents are giving me odd bonus "rewards" for completing missions early. For instance 1300 Toxic Waste - how can this be considered a reward?
3) Autopilot approach and menu approach doesn't work on some startgates leading. They seem to set your ship speed to 5m/s. Manualy flying close to the gate seems to work. ----------------- The universe is not only stranger than we imagine, it is stranger than we can imagine. - J. B. S. Haldane |

Edited by: Ruffles on 19/12/2003 14:52:30 Haven't succesfully created a courier mission since the patch.
When trying to Add a Courier mission, all I have had is the LOADING pop-up form/bar and it just sits there and never completes (at least not in the 6 minutes I could be bothered to wait for it too). Perhaps a little loop is going on after you select the station you want to Courier from?
Edit - Corporation Wallet: Can NOT Use decimals in Give or Take money. The system just bleeps at you, not displaying the digits you typed after the full-stop, but instead when you press backspace, all of a sudden those extra digits are present, but no full-stop.
I am sure other transfer elements, perhaps like Give Money may not work with decimals also.
Bit of a problem for reconsiling wallets at present

Advanced Market Map - Tooltip Prices don't show decimals.. So something selling for 1.ŠŠ will look like 101 on the tooltip.
Rendering Glitch That old-school graphic glitch where other ships would render on top of your ship. Happen more often again.
Dragging items.. Was dragging my stuff to the station hanger and got an exemption error, then the item disappeared.. Now everything I try to drag to the hanger just disappears. Have to refresh content to see the stuff in the hanger now.
Mouse Wheel doesn't scroll for item windows, drones bays, ect again. Works at first, something causes it to stop working after a while. Relog fixes again..
Mem Leak - Warp-in load lag!! Tuning in Sub-Space Lag!! Mem Leaks!!! Just like the old days (don't care if you haven't noticed it), the old school mem leaks are back.. If you have alot of busy chat channels open and make a lot of starjumps.. The game starts to freeze up accessing data while coming out of warp, docking, undocking, starjumping, and even when you do random things like press a button. So you end up having to relog the game alot to increase performance.
Example: If you haven't restarted the game for a long time and you've been sitting in the Trade channel for hours.. If you starjump and the JIP is filled with ships and containers.. It may take you so long to load everything, by the time it's finished, your not even cloaked anymore.
Another Example (WinXP / Windowed Mode): You've been sitting in the trade channel for 5 hours, made 57 starjumps. You rightclick your ship for whatever reason, and the game just freezes up for almost a minute. You alt-tab to the desktop and notice a message displaying on the systray that says something like: "System Out of Virtual Memory"
5 R&D Agents, 10months, Zero BPO Offers.. Onboard navigational [Planetary Avoidance] computer.
My account will be suspended at the end of the current play period. Expires on 19. September 2004 |

Quote: The operation you have requested could not be performed because another session change is already in progress, and doing so would only cause problems. Please wait, or if all else fails, restart the client and reselect the character.
Oh, and that message appears often. Wether it's docking, jumping or undocking.
Seems to happen most when trying to perform another action in quick succession to a previous one. Redocking after undocking, jumping back after having jumped into system. Like there is a stall in clearing the last state change item, or a deliberate pause to prevent it allowing something else... Like when you arrive after Dock command issued and you warp to a station, and then it says Docking blah blah blah, and you issue the right-click dock command again. That error box.
Am not sure that the Microwarpdrives for 10MN+ are taking the skill from High Speed Maneuvering into account. Seems to be draining full capacitance energy per burst, not a reduced amount as per the appropriate skill level.
/sigh
Factories and Labs drop-down combo box still only shows 5 items in the drop-down list, forcing you to scroll to see those two extra hangers. Please just make this drop-down list 7 items deep. Its such a small change, yet everyone in the factories and labs world will truely be greatful. Common, we know its a five second job [;)] Pretty please.
Quote: Industrials have been increased in power output so that they can be fitted with cruiser sized afterburners and microwarpdrives.
Not all indies can fit cruiser sized 10MN microwarpdrives, as per your patch note comments. You might want to rephrase that Frigate sized Microwarpdrives, and Cruiser sized afterburners.
I think the whole afterburner/MWD thing is too complicated right now. Why not lose the percentage of speed increase attribute and go with the thrust vs the mass of the ship? Better modules deliver more thrust---others don't. In fact just combine both module types and let's just say that the faster AFTERBURNERS (ie MWDs) give penalties to your ship and cost more to fit but have big thrust. EVE-I.com~THE Info source |
