Yeah he did. We had a quite enjoyable fight that ended in the loss of his thanatos and pod.
Both sides took support losses but thankfully the only cap ship wreck left after the fight was GM's and we held the field, and therefore looting rights.
A good fight was had by all and hopefully we'll cross swords again. ----------- Join channel 'Turby' or die! (bring pie) Damien's our #1 subscriber!! - CCP |

Edited by: Ginger Magician on 26/02/2007 11:30:21 Well there goes anothe carrier
At least got a decent fight this time and a number of kills.Shame u couldnt win with your own corp and had to call in your dreadnought friend but still this was one of the best fights I had in my carrier career and it was nice to able to actually have cap and tank and not face overwhelming numbers/ecm as I normally have to.
Interestingly the 5 ships that u lost in this engagement were put at a total loss of 1.543bill on battleclinic. While I know that this is not that accurate it kinda puts this rather phyrric victory in perspective.

gf guys
I know that tiller isn't a logger in general and I doubt ginger is either as both of them have been around long enough to know how to save their pods. The only time I imagine they log is if the field is completely packed and the lag is heavy, understandable if they have a lot of implants. I personally never bother logging to save pod as I never run *that* expensive implants. If lag wasn't bad in eve you wouldn't see any decent pvpers logging.

The dread 'friend' was a turby members character, but just wasn't in the corp. Besides, he got cyno'd in quite far into the fight due to a gang screwup meaning he couldn't be there from the start. Making sure both the second dread pilot and the cynoer were in the same gang before dropping would probably have drastically reduced our support losses, but stuff happens, what can you do?
Those 2 carriers put out some insane damage, kudos to both the pilots.
I don't know about the 1.543bil, but if 2 Megathrons, 2 Astartes and a Raven comes to that, then fair enough. No one claimed it was a flawless victory. We killed a SNOWY Raven, Phoon, 2 Drakes, a Crane (cynoing in backup?) and of course the Thanatos, as well as 2 pods. With insurance and looting rights none of the guys who lost ships ended up out of pocket.
All in all it was a nice, balanced fight and it could have easily gone either way.

Battleclinic loss calculations are redicouless for the record. My nighthawk sayse its 840 mill loss. All the stuff i needed to buy back and including ship was worh 251 mill. Plus we looted all your stuff for example 7 fiughters whice gives us 140 mill nearly..... So when you got full losses we got some of the stuff back plus more loot to sell to give to those who lost ships.......

Yes, nobody from your crew claimed it was a flawless victory. But you guys also didn't mention any losses earlier in the thread. So from a point of view, its like you guys killed a carrier and thats all that happened.

I know exactly what u mean.
Although ewar/nos warfare play important parts of pvp, sometimes it's nice to have a good slug fest, just pure dmg against tank and ships exploding everywhere. especially in a carrier.
sounds like a fun fight.

That was the 8th post down lol, not exactly early in the thread. Regardless, was a good fight.
After the first two Turby posts in this thread, I was curious how long it would take before losses were mentioned on both sides, not just ours.

None of us knew he'd made the thread, and jacko's not well known for elaborating much, which is why the second turby post, mine, mentioned them.
But yeah, regardless of anything else, it was an enjoyable fight.
