you mistake my argument about whether karma has anything to do with the kill, with me caring about the kill itself.
my first post compliments every facet of the kill, and my second makes clear that im not being sarcastic.
I corrected one thing, that being that the scammer himself was not in the least affected by the kill, and then twice fended off atempts at straw man arguments to the contrary.
this is the last i will say on the topic, because if you havent got my point in 4 posts, you wont.
just to be redundantly clear.
10/10 for planning. 10/10 for execution. 11/10 for documentation. 3/10 for justification.

Your argument is well thought out but I feel you have overly complicated it. All you are saying essentially is that losing five billion hurts a lot less if you are really rich and make a lot of money.

To Derail you, in the context of pure marketeering and full value yes, they do hurt the same.
But in contrast, if an alliance that has no HAC bpo looses 30 hacs as opposed to bob who have all the BPO's, the cost differential is one of Sustainable versus Depleteable income.
IE, 30 man corp all make enough money to buy a HAC through NPC'ing, while BOB cooks HAC's. Hacs they don't use go to market.
Then consequentially, Both sides loose all thier hacs in a doomday misfire (or something)
While the immediate impact of the loss is not felt as badly on the side of the corporation with the BPO's, it will accumilate if it happens consistantly.
Where on the other hand, 2 days of ratting and boom, non-production corp has a brand new HAC purchased(and possibly built by BOB) and are back in the game.
Both sides loose similar value, but both sides feel it in completely different ways. Consiquentially if BOB were to loose a freightor like this every day for 6 months, there would be a drastic change in the profitability of a t2 production program.
Conversely, the same would happen to the guy who had to rat for a new hac every day (jeeze I'd hate to be him).
The difference is in the Kill Death Ratios.
Yeah thats right.
As long as BOB maintains a higher kill death ratio it's simply and consistantly stated that a HAC kill to bob will inevitably cost less to them as it does to someone else who maintains maybe even a lesser expensive ship yet looses it 3-4 times in a row before he claims a prize (such as a HAC or T2 battleship).
So yeah the trick is and always has been Get a positive K/D Ratio. In Short, your both right in your own terms.
Ok maybe not worth the long diatribe, but entertaining to say the least!
What you are saying amounts to the following: A HAC lost by a player that pays build cost hurts that player less than a HAC lost by a player that pays market cost hurts that second player.
This is obviously true but it ignores who is paying the difference in market and build cost for the first player. Where HACs are given at build cost (lets assume this because it changes nothing to do so except which sides bears what part of the burden) the person giving the HAC has to essentially eat to the difference between build cost and market sale price.
The price paid is somewhat less than it appears because increased supply would lower the prices, but even assuming that the price paid is somewhat less, all you are arguing is that the divided burden of the HAC loss has ancillary benefits.
To be sure, where a player can afford to buy more ships because they are cheaper and another player can afford not to sell ships because he doesn't need the money, then there are real benefits to getting ships into the hands of those who will fight for you with them. That changes nothing about the value of the asset lost, its only an argument that despite the value of the asset the system fo providing them is beneficial in any case.
Most of BoB doesn't understand that the value of the asset lost is unchanged and instead insist that the value lost is the build cost. The truth of the matter is of course, that the value of the item lost is almost the same in any case and that it is a question of who bears this burden.

Any real corporation is responsible for its own member's conduct. It was brought to TWDs attention. Effectively he said that he condoned what happened. At that point the scope of scammage was increased. It could have gone either way, we've waged all out war on alliances on smack talkings of a single pilot, much less of an infraction than a billion isk scam. I'm fairly sure that given the opportunity, Outbreak will happily settle the score with Vegeta. And as the video shows, we are pretty darn patient.
The moral of the story is that Outbreak is not your average noobie. When we shake our fist towards the sky and say "You'll pay for this", you'd better believe it. We are noobies with sharp sharp teeth!

/me bangs head against the wall AAARRRGGGHHHH
Read the posts in this thread already (Waagaa, me, Baun). The loss is the market-price. Period. Only that in your case, the loss is shared by you and your corp. Or, in the case that you even make a profit, the corp pays for the loss and your profit. But then again, who is the corp? It's you and the other members. Either you're putting in work for the corp but aren't bright enough to understand that that is where you pay for your loss, or you're here boasting about how you rip off your corpmates.
If that didn't make it clear enough, I give in and let you continue with your ignorance.
And Admentus, what you're saying is basicly: If two guys lose the same ammount of money, and one is unemployed and poor while one has a top job and is rich, the first will suffer most. Which ofc is true. But ofc also doesn't change the fact that they lost the same ammount of money.
Am I forced to have any regret? I've become the lie, beautiful and free In my righteous own mind I adore and preach the insanity you gave to me |
