3 blobtastic support fleets - 1 Capital fleet
1 support fleet (purely goons) jumps through and slaps the node across the face. Devs have made it 1 node per system in constellation so the node holds. All goons die.
2 support fleet (goons and others) jump through crash the node. Everybody in target system spends the rest of the night/day trying to og back in without much success.
3 support fleet (BS heavy) goes through what is now virtually an empty system with trickle of people trying to log back on. They warp to POS open Cyno bring the capital fleet in... win! Time for the epic threads...
I am curious what Sleene will try about this other than slapping hem hard across the face in RL
To be honest, if you're defending a dead-end system the strategy is so obvious I'm sure every capable FC has already figured it:
Defend the only access system. Blob it down.
Except, funnily enough, Titans now bring the means to bypass that once a single Cyno ship makes it to the dead-end system.
Fun times ahead. Poor hamsters.

Can anyone confirm if the MC shipyards actually were attacked or not? As on my map it shows very few people active in the MC constellation and only 2 ship kills in the last 24 hours; this seems very quiet for a system that only a few hours earlier was supposedly assaulted by a large capital fleet.
From the rather limited information I can gather (basically looking at the, often useless, map) it seems all quiet.. or have I got something wrong? ----------- When I was a n00b, I spake as a n00b, I understood as a n00b, I thought as a n00b: but when I became pr0, I put away n00bish things. |

Everyone should stop crying about the other blobbing.
It's not a choice. It's not something someone started. I've seen people accuse BoB of "starting the blobtrain". This is wrong. Blobs existed as far back as the TTi war (first Venal war), where TTi and allies repeatedly grouped up in blobs reaching 50 people (a whole lot back then. EVE has sturdier servers these days, as well as alot more people).
This has already been discussed to death. Either you take as many people as will come, or you don't go. Splitting up your troops to "reduce lag" is a recipe for disaster, since you are only weakening your forces and making them more susceptible to enemy raids during transit.
It's not up to individual FC's to reduce lag by not allowing people to join their fleets. It's up to CCP to fix this problem, either with beefier hardware, and/or the split intermediary goals scheme they are currently planning.
Becrying the other side for blobbing is so monumentally stupid that the offenders in this should, by all rights, be hiding in shame right now. ----

If one can watch the big picture its not much fact of anyone hammering MC atm. They are up in MOEE and gatecamping. Couse they dont much else todo. I dont think they go mining when they are boored.
Or if BoB have directed them to MOEE to try and hurt the pipe. Wich they have made it more interesting.

SO your plan is to intentionally break the EULA again, crash the node and then expect CCP to do nothing because they'll **** off several thousand cheaters if they enforce their rules.

I'll state it again for clarity - no accusations about past cheating; a thread like this is not the place to do it, and it is considered trolling and will be dealt with as such. If you suspect cheating, petition it.

You mean your going to node crash even harder? OMG, noes!
To be very honest, if they sent so many freakin' ships that the node crashed, doesnt it strike you that if the node had held, they would have completely overwhelmed anything they were after regardless?

Nope -- if the node had held, LV was in an outstanding defensive position and would have inflicted HUGE losses. For purposes of crashing a node, an Ibis or a t1 frigate is as good as anything, which is why goonies use them. But for purposes of fighting, battleships are a little better.
The node crash prevented LV from defending their system.

It would also have occured had we had only 300 people, so meh. 450+ drones and fighters = well over 1000 (more like 1300 or something). Had we jumped in equal numbers the node would have crashed. Not even Jita can handle 900 people on a gate all attacking each other. The blinkered views of LV and their fanbois makes this point more and more ammusing. It's been raised before, and it'll be raised again. Also, we had 200 in system, not 500.

As someone basically said earlier...
How about we actually kill the shipyards before we have a big party and a four-page thread about it?
This stuff is way past tiresome, guys. There's nothing wrong with being pumped about the coming battle, but these things should probably be kept internal until an objective has actually been reached, eh?

d2 will retreat from mc space, i heard that in the bobgarden. also, bob has a solid control over feythabolis and tenerifis and is unchallenged and only take minor losses. we have already arranged various safe freighter evacuation trips with dianabolic for a nominal fee to safely retreat to empire.

. . .And we get to the point where everyone has to wonder if words like "playing", "game" and "fun" are worth using. . .
JV1V was a big achievement? Something to be proud of? No it was a monumental lag fest, that's all.
What's going to be the point of this and who's going to have fun?
Goons don't take the game seriously yet they'll stare at a log in screen all night for the sake of making someone who is arbitrarily their enemy in this "internet spaceship game" unhappy?
Eugh. . . starting to wonder again why I'm still here.
Err... I can't see nothing else than RAGoons are coming to a theatre near you, really nothing more. Enjoy the show, you had only the Goons.
ANYWAY : "lag is the same for everybody", "there's no server problem" and "Bob rules them all". -----
