why is that stupid server so much ofline.... most ppl are paying for the game, at least they can expect a nice running server that isnt down al the time. cant you guys test the patch on a special developing server or somthing like that before patching the pub.server?

and testserver is a small version of tq, you cant test every aspect compared 35k users against 100

1 hour a day? is 7 hours a week, i dont think all online games(payed)are 1 hour a day(or more) ofline with time extension cuz of startup problems or other things

It's not just the 8 hours i've been robbed of this week alone. It's that this bull**** always happens right in the core playing time for us non-american's. I'm sick of this elitism, if you are going to take money from all over the world then support the paying punters. Like most established online games - provide a server for other regions with their own downtimes during the day which has minimal impact to core playing hours.

Not all of us are from US - so this down time affects us greatly.
Then again - Im new here and will give devs benefit of doubt and belive this is just due to new patch and not every day rutine.

Not everyday problem, but every patchday - and few days afterwards - problem certainly.

i hope so...., cuz its a great game, but the patching is just f***ed up

I think that downtimes are necessary to keep the game smooth and running. Even a 1 hour downtime every day is acceptable.
BUT not this "unannounced" extended downtime crap that somehow seams quite usual lately.
The day before yesterday, we had one cause of hardware issues.(something that couldn¦t wait one more day, till the announced extended downtime.
Not only do we lose time to play and skill time but CCP¦s answer to a request to reimburse skill time loss is basically to "***k off". (synopsis of what i was told by a GM)
Somehow we come to pay for about 20 hours of possible gaming, if you add all downtimes and sudden serverdowns over time.

Presuming that the servers are Iceland-based, I wonder how many software engineers of real quality are going to sign up for a job which requires them to work every day of the year at 2.00 a.m.
Or how many US customers would enrol in a game that went down mid-evening every day.
If we all want to play in the same universe then this is not a bad compromise.

I actually don't really care that once a week there are startup issues and it takes about 1-2 hours more than the normal 1 hour DT, there's other things to do in RL, but this is really getting annoying, there have been such problems every single day of this week... Monday with the "preparation for the patch", Tuesday for the actual patch (+1 hour extended aside from the 5 or 6), yesterday i don't know, wasn't home, today again an extra 1.5 hour, or maybe more.
It's not a wasted skill training issue or "OMG i have 1 hour less to play today!", not at all, it's just a feeling of disrespect. The game is what, 4 years old, and such problems still have the chance to pop up 3,4 days in a row? Meh....

I think just a few more extended or unscheduled DT and CCP should compensate it somehow... May be a few donation lvl5 skill. My choice is battleship lvl5 and cruise missile lvl5. Remember this CCP...

The CCP HQ is in Iceland, the server clusters are far from the U.S., but thanks for blindly flaming.

A one or two day extra playtime compensation would be great, but after all... 2 days of income from 120000 active subscribers is $ 119600. I don't think any company would agree to giving out 120k bucks to people, just because they screw something up. They will rather pay for double shifts to their employees.

Yes its very frustrating,this is quality play time for me around this hour,but I am starting to get annoyed by the daily downtime,but what can you do about it :/

Do you remember that thing called EULA that you scrolled thru and hit okay without reading any of it? CCP wont be giving anyone anything, anytime soon
But I've played player ran shards on ultima online, so this is nothing to cry about
