My constructive suggestion.
New content - Vivox.
Effects -
1) Forum unhappiness.
2) Not user friendly for players with multiple accounts because one instance of Vivox is active on per account basis.
3) Interoperability malfunction because a few have them and some don't.
What to do?
A) CCP could give us Vivox for free on all accounts but raise subscription fee to 15.99. Everything else in the world has inflated why not eVe?  eVe pricing has been the same since release.
B) Introduce special deals. Buy 12 months eVe subscription in advance and get free Vivox for 12 months.
Good idea? Everyone is happy, CCP and us. CCP is 4TW.

they said they didnt want to add vivox costs to regular
supscription fees because they dont want to penalize the people who are
not going to use it.

DEFINATELY NOT. EVE is already the most expensive MMO on the market, for us in the UK. I refuse to cough up even more cash to subsidise YOUR voice chat.

WTF is eVe?
And no, there is no reason at all to use the VOIP since its a downgrade from programs as Teamspeak and Ventrilo, let alone pay for it!

Is this correct? I was considering getting vivox, but if it involves turning game sounds back on, then its a no-no.

dodgy program no one wanted took em 2 motnhs of diverted programming time to get it working ( Could have been spent on better things) doesnt work with alts and now we have useless and only small corps will use it. Not one of CCPs brighter ideas

Funny how if I want to use it, I have to pay, but if the bugs it introduces are FREE, GRATIS, NO CHARGE.
Now... given CCP's track record, I am willing to wager one years ViVox subscription that if I actually sign up the white elephant, I don't suffer the bugs I suffer from NOT signing up to it.

I've had to cancel my EVE subscription (and going to try to live off GTC's till things settle enough to come back with proper money). Making it more expensive for something as menial as VOIP (of which I dont need ever anyhow) for everyone (including those who dont need/want it) is stupid on a level I refuse to comment on due to the choice of words to describe it would give the profanity filter fits for days.
Jenny, revert to Jenny v1 please.

EVE Voice is a premium feature, that mean's it costs a bit extra but it is not necessary to have it. I agree with some of the posters in this thread, we will not raise subscription price to pay for a feature not everyone wants or will use.

I don't particularly want Vivox, which means I don't want to pay for it. The fuss about this mystified me, until I remembered how many whiners there are on this forum.

It's actually true, there is an EU directive that stipulates that if a cucumber is not straight it cannot be classed as a cucumber. Something along those line. Crazy beaureucrats(sp?)

Arent you afraid though that the inability to listen to eve-voice when you dont have a subscription leads to it not being used at all?
I mean everyone in a gang can listen to ventrilo/teamspeak without any additional cost (other then what the corp/alliance pays). With Eve-voice and not being able to listen to people (without the subscription) would mean only half the gang can listen.
Anyways, just my 2 cents. Our alliance will keep using ventrilo/teamspeak for gangs as its just not viable to use a system which only half the gang (if that) will pay for.

To the OP. My ISP blocks/restricts port 5060 which is used by Vivox/Eve voice. What this means is that I am unable to use Eve Voice. So what you are saying is that you want me to pay for a service I am unable to use? I don't think so. I will stick to Vent.

Yeah that would be awsome Jenny, So great with to work with a eve-client with voice.

Vivox is in my opion a stupid ide, Annyone can setup a ts server for free, sure for the bigger corps / orgs u need a bigger ts server. But when 200+ppl share the respons its no worry.
Vivox is in my opion a ide wich havent been tought thrue proprley. This is not a thing eve needed in anny sense. When their is so much other things thats more importen or intrsting.
I would gladly pay more money if they just sorted the problems in 0.0. Like add 15mins logg off timer 24/7.
