Well done, professionally executed by mercenaries, cordially participated in by Catamarack...
He had such an immense passive tank that 5 heavies and 4 neutron blasters couldn't dent it; but on the flipside, there wasn't much room left in his setup for DPS.

well executed....definetly got my isks worth. my claymore just didn't do enough dps against his domi....though on the flip side he couldn't break my tank either....I'm definetly going to try again with another ship once I figure out what I want to try next....so long as Curzon is willing of course....
we went at it for about 30-40 minutes before we both decided to call it a draw and not waste the other person's time....definetly a mutual decision...
anyone wanting to know more about it or any questions about how the fight went just ask me....I can usually be found in Eve Radio chat in game or eve-mail me....
Let's put the Laughter back into Manslaughter....

Yep,
I took on Curzon... slightly worse for wear after winning about $100 playing poker, I told my cousin I had to go kill Curzon in internet spaceship games.... everyone knows Curzon to be an honourable gentleman... so I arrive at system with Itithca as I had travelled there earlier knowing that Man United were playing Chelsea and I would be unfit to travel (and yes we won 2 - 0 yyiippeee) so my cousin wants to see my internet spaceships game... she is intrigued and as I square off with Curzon at 100km she asks a question and inadvertintly I let loose on the Ref who had locked me... pop to Concord a damn nice Hyperion... off to Ours to pick up another... thankfully cousin goes to bed.
Ref knows I want max range... yet after refitting and travelling to target system again after 11 jumps I am warped in at 50km.... have to start to MWD out and no time to recharge cap.... ****ed off but expected that T2 rails at range with T2 ammo will take down a Domi.... seems not.... game on....
Now I thought Curzon was about SPORTSMANSHIP... however not... so I surrendered... Hyperion in structure... yet he Ransoms me????????? he got my 300m entry fee and I thought this was about his battleship reputation??? It seems not.... in my drunkeness I thought he ransomed my ship for 200m... yet no only 50m... otherwise I would have let it die for the insurance.... Curzon is not the upstanding guy he makes out to be or that I thought he was... however he won and kay sera sera....
So if you take him on... take a Domi with good Drone skills and a couple of faction webbers....
Yes I lost... yes disappointed... but more disappointed in the lack of sportsmanship that Curzon professes.... maybe should have known... but maybe white is not always white....

Yep Curzon can type quicker also.... I always assumed this was not about the isk but about reputation... I am not dead drunk yet but am working on it.... interesting all in all....

Curzon is correct in his rendition of what happened.
I think Deckard was somewhat confused by what was going as the conditions were repeated a number of times in which he eventually agreed to get paid 50mil for his ship. This isn't the first instance of Curzon ransoming peoples ships but it is the first time anyone has not understood the conditions. The fact he decided to shoot me first and not Curzon give a lot of insight into the state Deckard was obviously playing in.
Anyway to say Curzon isn't sportsmanlike is not true, he could have just blew you up....
I got a giggle, 100mil and a T2 sniper fit out of it :D
Play sober next time Deckard :p

However how did I end up 50km away instead of 100km away. My point still stands... is Curzon in this for the sport or for the isk.... because from what I saw it aint the sport. The only time I lost a ship I regret when drunk was in BKG at the start of the current 0.0 war... I lost an Arazu to a Raven... that was drunkeness.... I aint drunk enough tonight although probably better if I was....

Deckard, you warped in at 100km to the safespot, and I was there at 50. You had the opportunity to open range up to 100km before the start and you did. In fact, you were 116km away from me, and I presume I was out of your optimal range because you stopped firing at me and turned around to come back.
*EDIT* Lastly, you really ARE being a sore loser. At ANY point between you being 116km away from me and me closing the range to 10km, which took forever, you could have warped out. You didn't. I know not why, but the end result remains the same.

No hard feelings Curzon, next time I will be little sharper... however flying and dying drunk is fun in itself... my T2 425mm with Spike were only getting hits of 10 damage at optimal!!... so you have a damn fine tank, that I will think hard how to break.

I warped you into the SS at 100km, Curzon has explained why you ended up at 50km from him.
Also i just want to take this opportunity to say that although I and my corp are paid by Curzon to do this refereeing and security i would be the first to shout CHEAT!! if anything outside the rules happened. I hope that is one of the reasons Curzon has continued to use us for this Event.
Anyway come on guys i need some more free loot :p

Wait, after readin the whole Deck story what I dont get is why you would offer a measly 50mil for his ship when it was worth more to him dead, seein as he'd get more from insurance alone!, obviously hes not gonna just practically GIVE you a free ship that makes no sense =s
he was obviously pretty confused about it...(maybe its his fault for showin up so drunk but looks like ya defnitely made teh most of that :P )

I was wondering, what stops the ref passive locking and scanning the challenger's ship and relaying the setup to Curzon so he can select the best counter ? I guess if the challenger has sound on he will be able to hear the ship scan activate - but doesn't everyone play without sound these days ? (I know I do  )
Not trolling, just curious.

Usually, Curzon is already in space waiting when the refs go to pick up the challenger. However, the refs are MCREW, and they're very honorable. They wouldn't do the thing you're suggesting.

Dude i tottal said it alot, Curzon Dax is a big scam, and alieing scum.
he owns me 3 billion isk wich he havent paid yet, and just trying to blame it on me.
now i dont mind getting scammed.
but when its someone and something of his caliber, that goes out as a good dude to everyone.
then its just wrong, he cheates in his bs vs bs tourney, tottal bs, he has alts to scan you on your way, so he will know your fitting, and he claims to use t1 fitting to get you to fight with him, so it seems fair, but hes all officer and uber t2 rig fittings,
allso he cheats in poker, where he makes billions each day.
just report this dude to ccp and lets hope they deal with him.

I thought you got banned from the forums? Your posts lately have been nerfed by CCP with the response "Stop stalking Curzon."
This ISK count that I owe you is cool though - I wonder where it comes from, and how it keeps going up? It started with 500m that I needed to pay you to prevent you blackmailing me in the forums; then it was 1 billion "or else" and now its 3 billion. Interesting. :)

It's a cool idea but I know from playing with corp members who have uber bs's for solo lvl 4's and 1 vs one it's a standoff. My 20 bil ship vs your 20 bil ship there's just not enough dps to get past the tank of the other. I've taken my mission ship into 4 bs vs 1 and walked away ( they may not have been the best fitted but they were trying to camp a gate) so I am sure his thread is 100% for real he makes isk off of it though as if it's a draw you lose. curzon has been around for a while so I'm sure he has some nice skills to back up his claims as well so nothing taken from his skills I just don't see (m)any set-ups able to kill a mission ship in a 1 vs 1. He does show 2 losses, I would love to know the setups that were able to take him. I would offer that both combatants be in the same gang as well to keep the playing field even of some real nice command ship bonuses being tossed around.
GL with the tourney a really novel idea.

I've had two matches that have been draws. As in, the other person fit such a huge tank that I couldn't break it. Theorize as you like, but when the rubber meets the metal, things are different.

My second post in this thread keeps people abreast of who I am fighting and when. If you're curious, take note and ask them. I'm not going to disclose ships / fittings / details about what people are flying. If they want that information known, they'll post.
Both fights were well fought, smack free. The first fight, part of my challenger's ransom was that he would come here and post how the fight went - he hasn't shown up yet. :( Apparently, he was faction fit hardcore. I let him off for 100m and a forum post, the latter of which hasn't appeared yet. It was a truly good fight; I was almost dead in the first 10 seconds of the fight with his alpha strike / nuetralizers / everything else. It took me a minute or two to stablilize my cap boosters and figure out what to do. =p
