Yes, you can warp to 0 - or 100km, or whatever you like. Think if the fight in a ring, with WTZ being the very center of it.
For the folks that posted about using other classes of ships, I've mentioned elsewhere in this thread that I can work it out on an individual basis.

Hi
Since we are having rules, would you be willing to accept some rules?
If I was to take you up on this offer, I'd like to change the max fight length to 1 hour. I seriously couldn't be bothered working for a draw for 2 hours if it turns out you have a crazy mother tank.
If one pilot is clearly beaten and is going down, the guy with the upper hand is under no obligation to stop firing, even if requested. If a loosing party commits any of your outlined disqualification acts out due to this, he has to tripple his looser payout.
Also, we travel together to the designated system. Only because I have a concern of being scanned and you having a little window to fit accordingly.

There is already no obligation to stop firing. Whatever my challengers and I have worked out is between us during each fight. As for the triple payout on warping / etc, its unenforceable. Unless you know something I don't?
You will be scanned before the fight for jamming modules. However, by the time that your referee picks you up, I'm already in space, at the aggro safespot. Should you wish, I can provide a list of neutral third parties (BIG, NAGA, etc) that you can hire to attend in a shuttle to verify that I'm already in space, at the safespot by the time you get picked up. They'll confirm for you that I don't dock and refit. :)
However, for security, I will always maintain that challengers will not know the fight system location until they get there, which changes between fights, along with the rules about who can be in system, etc.
If you take the rules together as a whole, they basically exist to insure a 1 v 1 without interference.

I had a go at this earlier this evening. Its very well setup. Curzon is trustworthy and its a good event. Although I would say to anyone thinking about this to not have a go unless you have a good nos ship maybe get yourself a talisman set. I know he has many ships but nothing seems to beat nosferatu but more nosferatu. With good equipment even the highest damage per second available is easy to tank. Think I should have kept more range on him and tried to out nosferatu instead of fitting guns I guess this is common knowledge. I just feel foolish for trying it in anything other than a nos ship. good fight though and might have another go sometime in the future.

***NEWS FLASH***
After a fight with Paddyman tonight, who fit 100% tank and no gank, we had a dispute over the rules for a draw. My first post makes it clear that the goal is to defeat me in single combat, not to fight me to a draw - apparently this isn't clear to some folks.
I've updated my post accordingly.
As such, I refunded his money and asked him to come for a rematch. This is the first draw that I've ever had, and wasn't expecting to ever have one - I came fit for pure gank for this fight, but he was tanked far too hard to get through. =p
For future challengers, if you don't have any guns, you're not going to get anywhere.

I wouldn't call six nos a 'pure gank'
Anyway, since it was a draw, your score should say 14-1-1.
I'll be back for another fight soon.

Your credibility suffered a lot, when you interpreted your own rules.
You warped off from the fight because you did not understand fairly basic game mechanics. While I don't suspect that you lied about your gank-nervousness, you did warp off.
According to your own written rules - you lost right there.
Artemis won by a sort of technical knock-out and you owe him 1B.
NB: good initiative btw.

Edited by: WildSide on 19/06/2007 16:34:34 so...is the 500mill isk fee a minimum for outlaws to do a low sec 1vs1? I figured out the ods is a bit lower though 2:1 but still..:) Im quite intersted in a 1vs1...just a bit limited wallet size, but might fix that too:) and is it any rules about fitting rigs or faction stuff? or using boosters?

Friend, the odds are 5:1. I pay 500% of your entry fee should you win. :)
The reason that lowsec fights have a higher bet is because people with low security statuses are generally the unsavory types; and I will suffer no intrusion into any fight. If you want to fight me and not fork over 500 million, work your security status up to something able to get into 0.5 space. :)

Thing is, I would like to offer you a battlecruiser duel if you agree? I'll use my winnings to put together a BS for the next fight.

It should also be known that during the fight, you must remain in a gang with the judge (forfeit if you leave) and Curzon has his own gang. This (along with the fact that I was webbed at 18 km in our fight) leads me to believe, that he has a character in local boosting him through gang skills.

Wouldn't having a command ship giving you gang bonuses count as cheating?

Sure it would be cheating, if it was true...
Curzon usually has me in a gang, in case I need to warp to him to take control of a ship if he ransoms. And as for me in Command ship.... I don't have any leadership skills. In RL or in game.
No, Curzon isn't cheating. If everyone knew how much he stressed out over every fight you would get it. If he cheated, he wouldn't be getting sick before every PVP match.

Ah...Dodiez just pointed me out to this thread.
Paddyman, Dodiez and I are usually ganged; and she doesn't have any leadership skills. When possible, if one of my refs isn't around for the fight, I bring her in to commandeer ships if I've ransomed them out. I would have webbed you at 25km, except I was pressing all the wrong buttons.
I have no issue with being in gang with the person I'm fighting, post aggro - I've done so quite a few times at their request. However, if the person challenging me were to leave gang, my presumption (and I daresay that its a safe presumption) is that you're leaving gang to form a gang with your buds, who will shortly warp into the fight.
The reason you, and everyone else is in gang with a referee is so that if anyone wants to cause trouble, they're going to have to scan our safespot down and get their on their own power - there won't be sudden surprises.
Do you think that there is no one in Eve who would bet 100 million ISK, get their corp buddies to wait a system over, and after we're fighting, and they've locked me down, call in their corp to gank me? Then go "ha ha ha, pwnzed newb!"
Don't be a sore loser. =p If you want to step back up, we can have a three-way gang, but it continues to remain such - if my challenger leaves the game, I default presume foul play is in order.

Hi Curzon, I haven't had a chance to read through all the other pages yet. But wanted to say great effort on being pro-active and giving a little fun back to 1v1's. Also (not sure if it was planned) good way to fish out the smackers who can't put their money where their mouth is.
All the best, I would take part but can't really afford to part with the iskiez just now. How about a 1v1 sometime after the comp?

First of all, a draw is not a loss.
Second, I scanned your set up after our fight with an alt. You had a 15 km domination web fitted. Also, a 75% web does not slow my ship down to 12m/sec.
Just because some unknown alt tells us you are usually ganged with her and that she has no leadership skills, it does not make it true.
Busted.
