Originally by: Dodiez Ah, Exiled One, given that Curzon is offering money for someone to prove themselves worthy of earning it, its rather noobish of you to think this tournament is beneath you; you sound like someone who likes to smack a lot, but has nothing to back it up, just like alot of the other pirates in game.
? Only in a blob...everyone is so scared of 1 vs 1.
--Dodiez
Dear, PR WOman. ECM, NOS, true 1v1, nobody is scared it is pointless and a waste of time, or are you saying this man is of noble blood? Sporting a similar rig is not the problem, sportsmanship - is. If people wanted to fight with 23 billion setup battleships and pimp their rides, they'd take it to lowsec with a gang full of m8s. I apologise if I'm the one who's mistaking here, yet it is rather obvious the scenario will unfold the other way around. Signature removed as it fails to comply with the rules. Also, please think of the epileptics :) -Ivan K

Curzon... How are you doing? Nice to see you going ahead and creating this little gem of yours. 8 fitted battleships you say... huh? LOL (knowing you they are all pimped out )
Curzon, Trevedian does bring up a good point though about low sec fighting.
Also, though I don't know Curzon personally (in RL), If anyone has any concerns or thoughts of scam, for what it's worth I can vouch for Curzon Dax. He is an upstanding individual in the game.

Alex, his concerns were already addressed by someone else who told him to read more carefully.
*snickering* Its ok if people come here to flame. I can COMPLETELY understand why Ginger would come here and bluster. He got ganked, and I made a song about it.
*laughing* In fact, I've made fun of everyone I can think of in those, so hopefully some of the folks with a lot of smack will decide to put up or shut up indeed!

I have more solo bs kills than any other player in eve history and more total kills than any other as well.Octobersnow corp under my guidance has made more kills than the likes of BOB Goonswarm and many other ongoing and failed allainces. Chekc out the killboard below.
Ginger has on that killboard a BS kill ratio of 369/57 = he kills 6.5 battleships for every bs he loses.
Even I have a better bs kill/death ratio (on the griefwatch UDIE killboard).. 175/10 = 17.5.
Very unimpressive for a low sec camper with such a big ego.

See i'm very tempted to give this a go but so many 1v1's just turn into either someone with with a load of damps, speed modded out, or someone other tricky setup that means u can't lock them and it comes down to luck of the set up. i am impressed that u say they can choose the range tho.
Nice to see someone doing this tho. Although 1v1 is not really my favourite engagement personally speaking.

Very interesting Curzon. I highly respect your setup w/ this whole program and your bring it attitude.
Hell, If I had the ISK to buy (and lose! :) ) a BS, I'd be happy to fight you!
Anyways, sounds like a lot of fun, good luck to you and all those with the balls to put it on the line.

I am as flattered as you are wrong about my setup. My domi setup was completely ineffective, which is why I lost. :( Although, in theory I do have a couple Chelm's Modified Heavy Nosferatu. I bought them because my cap couldn't sustain my tank during missions, and I needed some extra leverage for my cap. And Guristas Battleships tend to hover 35+ km away. Then I discovered the magic of cap skills, got them trained up, and discovered that I didn't need NOS anymore. So now the lady has the NOS on her mission ship.
Waste of NOS you say? Are you KIDDING? Forget their cost for just a minute and look one up and look at its CPU and powergrid requirements. I've daydreamed, but officer stuff has insane requirements to fit on your ship. FItting some of those just isn't feasible for a Dominix. Yeah, I had cap rechargers instead of cap injectors - lesson learned the hard way.
Actually if you want the real truth, I had a drone link augmentor, salvager, and tractor beam in my high slots. I should probably be ashamed to say that, but I am a carebear. *laughing* Ah, whatever man. Interesting guesses, but quite off-base on all accounts.

I have an even better idea Curzon. You talk about fair fights? Frankly, I can't be bothered to put together some lame ass ultra expensive custom 1v1 setup to kill you. But what if the bet was the same, and we fought on the test server, using only the items freely available from the market?
This way, not only is the playing field leveled in a numbers respect, but also in an ISK repsect. Just because I can't afford that centus rep or high grade crystal set, no longer will I be at a disadvantage.
Just by looking at the rules demonstrates your concepts of how to approach a 1v1 fight. Lots of nos, break their cap and simply outlast them. Very boring, very predictable, but in the end it's lame, because in order to defeat something like a full centus tank and officer nos nothing else will be able to compete except the same.
I compete in no-holds-barred 1v1s all the time. Dozens a day. On the test server. ISK is no object. There are Ravens and Maelstroms out there with tanks that would make your eyes bleed from boredom. You can throw the highest damage Hype at it and just cry as it absorbs all the DPS and then some.
1v1s prove very little in the end. Hunting and killing other players is where the real skill lies, not in pre-planned matches.
So ya, why not come to the test server and we can go a few rounds? Won't cost you anything, except maybe your pride if you get spanked.
Because I said so...

HELLO! Welcome to my thread. :) Thank you for not reading it before posting. :) Enjoy your day and I hope that you have as much success posting obliviously around the rest of the forums as you had here.
Now, I know you are scratching your head in confusion right now, so let me clarify what you didn't read: I have quite a few ships, quite a few setups, and am always keen to try new things. Ever seen a Passively tanked CNR with a full rack of smarties using a MWD and running in circles? I've done it! =)
The fight that I lost was to a NOS boat. I simply got NOSed to death. I should have been expecting it but....eh. Feel free to continue conjecturing on what ships and fittings I'm using, but please....I pray of you - take your forum blustering INTO THE GAME, and come see me in space, m'kay? M'kay. =)

Although I do agree that there is more to Eve combat than 1v1, I have to say that I really love this idea. I can't see why anyone can claim that it is a waste of time when you could win up to 5x your stake. If I thought I was any good I'd have a go for sure - must train for a battleship one of these days...

I'm willing to entertain individual requests for other combat types. For example, I'd be willing to go mining barge on mining barge. :) I needed to draw the line somewhere though, I can't prep myself to take on the whole universe in any ship class. If you want to bring a different ship to the Battleship Championship, and can justify it with something like "Its as good as a battleship" I'll entertain it. I'm not familiar enough with the other ships types to make any generalizations yet though.

Beating someone in an officer fitted bs doesent prove anything, other then you have a deeper pocket then the opponant. ---------------------------
