I asked about help the customer support and after verification that the accounts belong to me I have sent the instruction how to fix in easy way all the problems with google email users.
I use an email - lets say it is - [email protected] All my accounts are registered to this one address. But sometimes I used dots to separate the name: [email protected] or [email protected]
For google they all are the same address. Google skips any dot in the address. You can separate the everyone character with a dot and you will still get the email at the basic address (without any dots). You just cannot put two or more dots in a row.
I received all emails sent at the addresses with dots, but at the basic address (without any dot) no one verification code was received. Solving all requests raised by google accounts is very easy. It is enough to put a dot in the google name. Using this solution will help a lot fixing the account access problems.
I was stupid enough to describe it to the friendly Customer Service:

I realise that the voices of the critics all too often go untempered by those of the satisfied, making the squeaky wheel seem like a bigger problem than it is. After spending a few days with the new features now, and enjoying them greatly, and having no problems so far, I'd like to say, well done CCP. Whatever you do, you should not quote customer service replies on the forums. That is usually not well received. (sorry, that's not constructive, I know - just saying)
Sure man. But for me it is not well received when I'm ignored. I didnt show all the emails from customer support. They know that happened and didnt change the wrong email address. I only have shown what and how happened, not the all correspondence. In addition if someone would read my email carefully he'd solve all gmail requiests in one easy update |

Although I never saw and cant say I saw any effort or promotion of CCP requests for feedback on that issue at all (or any other really) but I'm fairly new so I'll put that down to me even if it *might* not be any mistake of mine.
But still: Kinda important to be able to retain their old loyal *paying* player base I would have thought but.. hey, what do I know about loosing paying customers, right?

Trying to boil it down to the essence of it all (for me) on Aura:
I'm (trying to be) in a dystopian future, not in a professional online commercial retail sales "environment" - so my greatest desire when playing EVE isn't exactly to feel like I'm in a WalMart/ commercial elevator / commercial interactive website catering to 14 year old boys who have an innate desperate need to feel some or any kind of artificial positive acceptance/ positive feedback from females.. (through no "fault" of their own of course - I might have enjoyed and appreciated it on a less than subtle level at 14 as well - due to genetics more than choice ), but even so - still - that kind of a "sales pitch" / PR 'technique' has as much place in EVE as the voice of Fran The Nanny would have in Blade Runner...

Now that new characters start with decent skills, there is no need for the "Civilian Data Analyzer" or "Civilian Salvager" to exist. These just confuse new players, because it's not at all clear that they're useless outside the tutorial career missions.
Could I suggest you remove these and give out Data Analyzer I and Salvager I (etc. etc.) in the career missions?
(This comes up repeatedly in the E-UNI channel.)

This thread reminds me of the feedback thread for the proposed change to Rapid Light Missile launchers a couple years back. No matter that no one had complained about them. No matter that no one wanted the proposed change. No matter that a weapon system that takes 40 seconds to reload would never get past the drawing board. After 30 or 40 pages of negative comments a dev came on and said we are going ahead with the change, most of the negative comments are by the same 20 people. Since then we are stuck with the hated reload time on RLM launchers.

You can't deny their logic.... keep this thread open for months, while everyone is continuing to play Eve until people just tire of leaving feedback anymore, and brand new players (with no perception of the old Aura or Character Sheet) begin to post their benign feedback. CCP will then cherry pick positive responses to those issues, and then cite then in their eventual response.
It will go something like this:
"We are pleased that most of you are enjoying Ascension. We realize it is impossible to please everybody* when we make changes to Eve Online, but we are going forward in continuing to make Eve the best it can be for new and old^ players alike."

I heard the new Aura voice on a well known Youtube channel and for the first time ever logged into SISI to make sure I wasnt hearing things. Those of us who thought the new voice was terrible said so on the SISI feedback thread and were completely ignored. But to my knowledge there was no specific request from CCP asking for feedback regarding the new voice.
In game I see lots of people complaining in local and corp chats but very few of them seem to care enough to come here and complain. Even when I suggest they do. Most people seem happy just to mute her.
I assume CCP have made the decision to take the atmosphere of the game in another direction so the slower Aura has been replaced with the more fast pace one. This does not appear to be something they want to discuss coz the only reply we've had so far is "nope"
I get why they had to change her = NPE
I get why they want to change the atmosphere = to make the game seem more dynamic.
But what I dont get is the poor production value of the phrases we hear the most.
Come on CCP throw is a bone here, we just wonna hear a voice that doesnt drive us insane after hearing it for an hour.
How that FC in an earlier post managed 12 hours I'll never know..

It only makes perfect sense that now that Ascension has officially been deployed many more players will be exposed to these changes and therefore many more will feel the need to complain and/or give their feedback. Which is exactly what this thread was created for.
Not only you, but also CCP should be more than intelligent enough to understand and expect this. So saying that now it's too late to complain or give feedback because that should've been done during the testing period makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
Sure, if we had all voiced our complaints earlier, then CCP would've had the opportunity to do something about this issue sooner. But that isn't - in any way - a good enough reason for them to now hold their hands over their ears and ignore us. They know damn well that now that this update has been experienced by a much larger player base they will receive a much greater amount of feedback, and these people deserve to be heard just as much as those who happened to have experienced them during the testing period.
Of course, I get your frustration. Believe me, I'm frustrated too. But instead of condemning everyone for not doing it sooner, I think that we should be glad that so many players are speaking their mind and are actually taking the time to write a complaint and give feedback on what's bothering them and how they think that things could be improved.
Because that is the only way that we as consumers seem to be able to actually get things done in this day and age. By speaking up, and taking action. And it's never too late for that. |
