You do realize that the time oriented skill training makes wanting being able to do multiple things well need 2+ accounts?
You do realize that to catch up with okder chars(like 2003/2004 people) does this as well?
And, most of all, most of medium/high end game content is best done with multiple people and most of the time you can't trust most people for it.
Adds to that that North American market for mmorpg put a LOT of money in buying money/goods and so on in games that there is a LOT of people in Europe and elsewhere that are paying their accounts(even multiple ones) with isk. :)
I, for one, is paying more than half my second account in isk, and soon as i'll go down in 0.0 i hope to pay my two accounts with isk. If income for ratting and so on stay still i won't have any problem doing that(i've calculated i will need 10/12h playing hour a month by account for that, without counting loot in the equation:D).
And i know a LOT of people that are doing nearly the same(all the people earning more than 1b isk a month can sustain a lot of accounts like this, since it's something like 150M isk/month for gtc...;)).

It seems to me that most people that use multiple accounts do so simply because of play style and play schedule. Most low-ranking pilots in large organizations will use one account due to the fact that whatever they want to do at any moment in EVE there are plenty of other pilots they can gang up with to do their thing. In many smaller corps where players, skill sets ,and play schedules are limited, having multiple accounts is a much more attractive option in order to accomplish things in EVE. Some players enjoy a wide variety of skill sets and play styles in EVE and choose to multithread the skill training so they can do more in a shorter period of time. I only play one character, however, I really don't see that playing multiple characters creates a problem except for the fact that when TQ says there are 33,000 people playing at the same time it should really read 11,000 people playing 3 accounts each . Thanks.

having 2 accounts is pretty worth while in games such as these... If you find yourself engorged with an immense amount of isk - spending them on an alt to train opposite skills as your main could be very beneficial. Also you can mount up alts on either of your accounts so youc an scout for both your main and your alt-main.
But if you're dirt poor... err... whatever works for u

I have had only one account for the majority of my two and a half years in Eve. For a short period (a couple months) I created a second (right in time for bloodlines) uber-specialized it's stats, filled up with implants, all that good stuff I never did for this guy. Then I got tired of paying the second sub and cancelled it, never having used the second character for anything (though the second hauler-alt was helpful at times). Now I barely get online enough to justify one sub, much less two.

I was thinking of getting a 2nd account (it would be useful) but then some "things" happened in and around the game which made me think twice.
I think I'll be fine with just one.

3 accounts... deal with it. Sometimes when I play Monopoly, I want to be the car... other times the dog. Back in the days of dice and paper I played multiple characters, sometimes at the same time, so roleplaying is still possible with more than one character. My goal is to experience all sides of Eve, which is not really feasible on one account, and I don't want to water down my main(s) by cross-training them.

My rule for MMOG's is if it cant be done on one paid account, Im getting too obsessed and shouldnt be doing it anyway. So obviously I only have one account, though I'm using all 3 character slots.
[note the paid account stipulation, on some older mmog's that have gone free its sometimes useful to have an alt for storing/transferring things due to crappy interface]
