I have one account and i've never wanted another. If I want to do something that will need more than one ship I ask some people to help.. I really don't get it... Isn't anyone else worried about this? This game is special because it ISN'T a race to the biggest and best ship/equipment but some people STILL try to be "faster" or "better" than the rest despite it being completely pointless. To be honest, the way Eve is built having two accounts is so useful, and I can swing the real life financial side, and I have a two-screened comp that can run them both at once (only one net connection though, so sometimes the frame rate drops a bit). I have other chars on these two accounts, but I haven't trained any skills on them, they're mostly there cause I was trying to make the hottest char possible. If your game time is limited you can fit all you want to do in easier with 2 accounts. These days though my 'Johnny alt' is pretty much left alone to train maxed out scanning skills etc. while my playtime is almost all on my main account. It's nice if you can afford it, but by no means essential. My second account started on the 'power of two' promotion about a year ago though, and is still here. by the sounds of it some of you guys/gals are about ripe for the picking on something like that as well!

And, most of all, most of medium/high end game content is best done with multiple people and most of the time you can't trust most people for it. Adds to that that North American market for mmorpg put a LOT of money in buying money/goods and so on in games that there is a LOT of people in Europe and elsewhere that are paying their accounts(even multiple ones) with isk. :) I, for one, is paying more than half my second account in isk, and soon as i'll go down in 0.0 i hope to pay my two accounts with isk. If income for ratting and so on stay still i won't have any problem doing that(i've calculated i will need 10/12h playing hour a month by account for that, without counting loot in the equation:D). And i know a LOT of people that are doing nearly the same(all the people earning more than 1b isk a month can sustain a lot of accounts like this, since it's something like 150M isk/month for gtc...;)).

Most low-ranking pilots in large organizations will use one account due to the fact that whatever they want to do at any moment in EVE there are plenty of other pilots they can gang up with to do their thing. In many smaller corps where players, skill sets ,and play schedules are limited, having multiple accounts is a much more attractive option in order to accomplish things in EVE. Some players enjoy a wide variety of skill sets and play styles in EVE and choose to multithread the skill training so they can do more in a shorter period of time. I only play one character, however, I really don't see that playing multiple characters creates a problem except for the fact that when TQ says there are 33,000 people playing at the same time it should really read 11,000 people playing 3 accounts each . If you find yourself engorged with an immense amount of isk - spending them on an alt to train opposite skills as your main could be very beneficial. For a short period (a couple months) I created a second (right in time for bloodlines) uber-specialized it's stats, filled up with implants, all that good stuff I never did for this guy. Then I got tired of paying the second sub and cancelled it, never having used the second character for anything (though the second hauler-alt was helpful at times). Now I barely get online enough to justify one sub, much less two. -------------------------- There is only one +6 sword of WTFPWN in Eve, and only the lag is allowed to equip it.

Back in the days of dice and paper I played multiple characters, sometimes at the same time, so roleplaying is still possible with more than one character. My goal is to experience all sides of Eve, which is not really feasible on one account, and I don't want to water down my main(s) by cross-training them.

For example, mining: 1 account with a battleship to mine and tank rats, 2nd account with a mining barge / hauler and more effective to have 3rd - a command ship / hauler to maximize effectiveness. Another example ratting: 1 account a battleship to kill spawns, 2nd a hauler with a salvager and tractor beam to haul / salvage and 3rd account - if you rat in big systems with 15+ belts - to scout for next BS spawn in a capsule. When you traveling in 0.0 or even low secs it's a must to have a scout. If you never play solo then obviously 1 account will be enough for you. On the other hand still much more effective to have 2+ accounts and specialize them: like fighter, industrial / hauler, covert ops, capital ship pilot etc-etc

Otherwise I would be more or less restricted to alliance pvp and maybe ratting/complex running. Isk wise it might be better, but I prefer to log to my industrial char and play with invention and such. Since someone mentioned 'work', yes, currently it feels like it, like two days ago, when I was moving my freighter char 30+ jumps to sell his freighter, because I needed isk urgently, while moving my industrial char 15 jumps to start another invention job, and then I had 10 minutes time left to log to my main, refit my battleship to what was requested and join a pvp ops. Or yesterday when I was salvaging a mission, while my main was alreadyy on its way to an op 35 jumps or so away. I hope that it gets more relaxing once I have everything running. ___________ Muuuhhh !!!

I just make that much money, and its what makes the game fun for ME. I enjoy playing this way, it gives me something fun to think of and do. I bought a Pvp orientated char on the sell forums and has made my game a great exerience, my main earns isk unmolested in empire while my second char has fun during peak times doing pvp, so in my case it has vastly improved my game, pvp char is paid for by main so doesent even cost me anymore than it did. my main can now fit implants and learn alot faster with reduced chance of losing them.

Talkie Toaster Viziam	Posted - 2007.04.03 13:09:00 - [100] well there are three accounts in my name as 18 months ago when i was enjoying ymself in a corp i had 2 that i took mining with them or solo (osprey on one, thorax and iteron on another) and then i wanted to do some fighing and get an apoc so i made this one. then about 13 months ago i quit due mostly to time constraints and then 3 days ago i paid for account 1 and 3. so the one with the osprey an this one which had all my money (20 mill lol) and my agent running n00b on (1.5mill sp :P) the temptation is there to pay for the third account and start the mining up agian, but i really cant be arsed with the *****ing about dumping the cargo every 60 secs and then hauling it. i think i'll deffinatly keep this character going as i am enjoying the agent missions and may possibly take the character into pirating later in life (though i like to think i'll be one of the nice ones who just webs you and demands money instead of one who just kills regardless. i have my morals :P). as for the other two accounts. i dont know. i ay fire up the inactive one to clear it out and then forget all about it and maybe keep the osprey one and train some better hauling skills. or i may just clear them all down and play with thi character as its a complete n00b to the universe. we shall see. i totlay understand why many only want one account. but i also understand why people want decent ALTs to do other stuff with.

Also I decided to stay 100% Amarr and not to train anything special just for PvE or PvP. Well I do train some basic missiles, but that's for the occational launcher I fit. The only thing that brings me down now and then is when my station/system is camped and I can't play my main. Wish I had an alt in some backwater system, or on another server mayhaps, just for fun. Would love a freshman noob on a new server where everyone was fresh noobs and we could fight things out in frigs and cruisers..

I've had this character for around 10 months or so. Specialized in mining and now some manufacturing. I trained him up just well enough to fly a battleship to rat some smaller spawns in 0.0. But I found that it was really starting to hurt my industry training everytime I wanted to train a more combat related skill, since I wanted to rat bigger spawns, or be of more use in alliance fleet ops. So, a few weeks back, I got a second account and am currently skilling him up with his primary focus on combat. In the mean time, he's making great use of himself as a hauler while my "main" mines.

Often times we go out, all fifteen of us and gank people and then laugh at them and tell them they're losers because they can't afford as many computers and accounts as me. Apparantly there's no dishonor in that. It's not like I have an unfair advantage or anything. Shouldn't the amount of money you have in the real world be the deciding factor in how successful you are in the game?
