I'm really getting a little worried, everyone these days seems to have 2,3 or even more accounts and I just don't understand it.
I have one account and i've never wanted another. If I want to do something that will need more than one ship I ask some people to help.. I really don't get it...
Isn't anyone else worried about this?
This game is special because it ISN'T a race to the biggest and best ship/equipment but some people STILL try to be "faster" or "better" than the rest despite it being completely pointless.
Bah, i'm tired and I didn't sleep well last night and i'm grumpy.. i'm off to get a cup of tea.

Me too. I can't be bothered to pay extra for another account...maybe some day if I win some Eve-Radio competition for a billion or so isk I'll buy a couple GTCs for another account and train it up, but even then...what would be the purpose? I might as well just trick out a battleship and rat 0.0 to make some profit, while still being financially secure.

One account here, on principle if nothing else. I don't care if it gimps my main when the time comes to train my freighter alt . . . so be it. How others spend their time and disposable income mean little to me, and CCP deserves the boost.

I only have one. I can afford more, but for me using alts spoils the experance- however I have considered it often and it is tempting at times :)

And I have to use both alts just to fill my corp's research POS, get R&D agents, get enough manu slots etc etc.
If I ever wanted to play another Char, I'd have to get another account....
(edit) and no i'm not a 1 man corp. In fact, around 40-50% of corp is altage of some form or another and we wouldn't survive without them

I suppose I have 2 accounts. To be honest, the way Eve is built having two accounts is so useful, and I can swing the real life financial side, and I have a two-screened comp that can run them both at once (only one net connection though, so sometimes the frame rate drops a bit). I have other chars on these two accounts, but I haven't trained any skills on them, they're mostly there cause I was trying to make the hottest char possible.  I might have been a bit drunk.

I have freighter trained on my main and I have inty, recon, logistics, mining barge, covops, PE5, Caldari Encryption IV, Ice processing (lol!) lvl 3, transport ships....
Currently going for Cap ships. Be another couple months though
You can do it all on one character, just you are pretty mediocre at everything

I've only got me, myself and I. We talk to ourselves enough, we don't need any alts or other characters. All we would do then is talk and nothing would get done. It would be shambles, really.

Anyway yup, one account here. I've been tempted though.
While most of the mechanics are simply designed to encourage teamplay certain elements seem implemented to encourage people to run multiple accounts.

The point in these threads:
Realy chaps, 8 or 9 people that respond to these do on the basis they have 1 account, and are pround of it.
Following the forums these last few days... so many threads and replies.... i cancel.... my accounts... *3-4
Seems from the vocal crowd (forums) most are running multiples.... forum pr guy says 20% of all accounts.....
Never quite figured that one out.. 70% of ALL subsciptions are allianced based.
Anyone has an answer, all ears.

6 characters 2 accounts - I must be greedy.
seriously though it depends how you play. If your game time is limited you can fit all you want to do in easier with 2 accounts. These days though my 'Johnny alt' is pretty much left alone to train maxed out scanning skills etc. while my playtime is almost all on my main account. It's nice if you can afford it, but by no means essential.
My second account started on the 'power of two' promotion about a year ago though, and is still here. by the sounds of it some of you guys/gals are about ripe for the picking on something like that as well!
