Hi Guys,
I live in a 0.0 system and there is this player that is logged on for like 20 hours a day, all he does is sit in the system cloaked waiting for me to start ratting, then he attacks me with his Combat Recon ship.
His sole purpose for residing in this system is specificly to irritate/annoy me. My temper got the better of me today and I swore at him, he then hastily filled an offensive language pettition and I was warned.
Im pretty sure most other people dont play like this,
This have been going on for about a month and a half, do u think im whining over nothing or do you think im acctually being harrassed?
Im intrested in any views and opinions, and anyone that has similar stories,

Looks like harrassment, sounds like harrassment.
Methinks it can be classed as harrassment. 
Just fill out the petition.

Hi,
I'm afraid nonconsensual combat is part of EVE Online. Staying online is not considered harassment eather. Sadly my hands are tied in this case, as no game mechanic is beeing broken. If you feel uncomfortable in that system I suggest changing to another system to rat.

Why is it harrassment? All that guy does is sit in the same system cloaked waiting for someone to start ratting. That is less harrassment than hunting miners in low sectors in my eyes.
Go rat in another system or fit your ship for a pvp fight and surprise him, if you're that bothered.
it's 0.0 for god's sake

A girlfriend?
Kids?
A job?
school work?
Does he not get logged off after a period of inactivity?

No, he can go afk as long as he wants cloaked, without you knowing when he's afk or not

I didn't think there was such a thing as griefing / harrassment in Eve, as the tools are in the hands of the players to sort out.
Hire a merc corp
Set a trap with friends
Cloak yourself and leave your ship in a safe spot 23x7 for a while and waste his time
Scan him to see how he's fitted and counter-fit your ratting ship to take him out
Basically he's not going to want to lose many combat recon ships is he?
Any idea why he's doing this?

This is Eve. Patience is a virtue. I admire someone who's willing to spend 20 hours a day just to terrorize an enemy. Sure, I'd hate it if someone was doing that to me, but that's why I stay parked in Empire where the veldspar grows. 0.0 is supposed to be the home of hardcore PvPers, not wimps like me.

so if i was to hire somebody to kill you, and he has a quote of how many times he can kill you before he gets the billion isk, and sits there trying to kill you as many times as possible to get the isk, is that harrassment? Maybe you shouldn't have ****ed me off in the first place.

What makes you think he's only waiting for you, and isn't attacking everyone else in the system?
Or do you sit in station 20 hours a day waiting for the right moment to go ratting?

You may have a case with the gms, but telling on people is lame.
Take the manly way out:
What kind of ships do you have available?
Which force recon is he in?
What can you tell us about his fitting and tactics?
I'm sure someone can help you with a setup. You'll sleep better at night knowing you didn't tell on him.

In todayÆs society it has become the norm to whine on the forums the second something even remotley non-favorable happens.
Honestly if someone taking pot shots at you in a recon ship in 0.0 is enough to ôruin your game experienceö you should just head on back to empire.

I don'n think its petionable tbh, but try moving systems if he keeps following you then maybe....
