Ive seen it multiple times, ships getting agressed, jump the gate with bubble on the other side active. They log, we shoot for 10 seconds their ship magicaly disappears. Now either it works or someone in eve know magic. Feel free to explain how its done, I'm interested to hear
even if you agro someone on one side of the gate, when they jump through, ONLY when they log off while cloaked, the ship will dissapear in less than 1 min.
before the last patch the ship would sit there for the remaining time of the cloak unlockable and if there was not an interdictor bubble on him he would warp and you could do nothing but bump him. now ccp claim to have fixed the 'exploit' by making them lockable as soon as they decloak, problem is... the ship does not have agro timer after jumping and logging while cloaked so you only have 1 min to kill it.
its an obvious bug in the game and people on all sides are exploiting it to the extreme.
logging off is more overpowered than nanos ever were.

The majority of GoonFLEET members are banned from posting on eve-o. There are a few exceptions. This is a self-imposed rule, IE they weren't told to do it. And its primarily because of Butter Dog. One single character single handedly managed to ruin ISS' reputation forever. They didn't want that to happen with goons.
What this thread amounts to, can be summed up in a little flow chart:
Xelas dude logged | | | Am I anti bob? ------Yes------- "OMG hax" | | No | | "Your a goon, logger"

offtopic, but i think i know why it happens.
because of the warp bubble or dictor bubble, when the client disconnects it cannot move and emergency warp. due to this the ship remains stationary, and does not decloak, while still counting down the 30-60s auto cloak from jumping. once this disappears then the ship appears, which while left with less than around 60s to kill before the two minute timer from closing the client unaggressed removes the ship from space. couple the interaction of the timers with a little bit of client and server delay = not much time to shoot, and basically anything above a cruiser will generally stay alive to anything other than a big fleet.

Edited by: DeckardIRL on 30/04/2007 10:04:32 Ratter logs... run to the forums quick... even tho I am a Gooner... but logging is unacceptable. I have never seen it said by anyone in Xelas that we are uber pvpers... its a goal we will strive towards and yes we are getting plenty of practise, hopefully one day...
However I dare anyone to say that they have seen anyone in a Xelas gang log during combat?
Want a funny logoffski story?
Xelas recon team in Branch in March. Sitting in 1IX-C0 at the station. Dusk and Dawn and pets undock and dock repeatedly some taking aggro some not... giving us a little smack but generally good hearted. A D2 nighthawk that had taken aggro undocks, we sat and watched for a couple of mins and then the pilot logs? WTF? everyone checks logs... 7 mins on aggro timer... must have DC'd... probes out... got it... warp.. engage... pop goes the nighthawk... pod... probing... pop goes the pod...
We find out later that the pilot indeed logged and then filed a petition...

KILL THE LOGGERS
No-one in Xelas supports logging, unless it's doomsday corp, mail the respective CEO and it'll be dealt with, Posting on CAOD is just looking for trouble.
btw; Goons, D2, FLA, Morsus Mihi, etc... all log as well, so from those test groups, I'll say every alliance has loggers in it, and they should all be killed.

I can't speak to what happened in the original post, but I would like to say that, in general, if you find a lone Raven (occasionally a Tempest) ratting in a belt in Fountain, it's a high probability it's an ISK farmer. We seem to be having an infestation of them. I think it's some of the old high-sec macro-ice-miners retraining for a new job.
If you can find a 0.0 system that's empty for 20-23 hours a day, you can make quite a bit of money ratting. Depending on the number of belts, 10-20 mil is not unreasonable. That's beside the shadow and occasional officer spawns. So I see the attraction.
We've been killing them pretty steadily, but they've adapted their tactics pretty well. They always have a cloak on and they're apparently always aligned for warping out. At first, we could catch them and then probe them if they logged. Now, they warp away and cloak and sit until all aggro timers wear off. It's becoming very difficult to catch them.
Please, Mr. Farscape, anything you can do to weed out these lamers would be appreciated. And yes, some of these farmers are in Xelas corps. There seems to be some internal effort to rehabilitate some of them and a few have actually tried some PvPing, if the killboards are to be believed. This may be an evolution of tactics, as they try to find the right balance between being active in alliance ops and earning money for their paychecks.
As for me, I must be somewhat mentally deficient, as it just never occurs to me to log when I'm in a fight. I'm always busy trying to kill the other guy or escape if it's going badly. I'll have to work on that.
