Tista	Posted - 2007.05.07 19:35:00 - [1] Right as far as eve goes.. im guna say its a pretty awesome game.. but today.. like every other day i was proved how poor the gameplay truely is. You're all going to flame this thread like there is no tomorow.. but meh used to it now, as the population of eve are all a bunch of**s.. right, story goes like this.. was out in my 3 day old hyperion 350mils worth.. by a gate.. now usualy i would think that my hyperion is a pretty good ship.. full neutron gank fit etc etc. 4 of us on a gate, fairly high sp.. around 30mil sp each.. then... we got blobbed.. 20 ships vs 4... we managed to take down a megathron, a brutix, and a ferox.. and this is what eve comes down to. There is no honour.. no tactic.. nothing.. just who has more guns than the other team... if you've ever played dawn of war eve basicly is.. the orcs. " i got da biggest gunz... we gotz more boyz dan dem!" Not even worth my time playing anymore.. skillpoints makes nothing differnce.. i have trained and played for near enough 4 years now and it's not worth it.. what makes it even worse.. once our 4 ships had been raped the foe then decided to jump in 2 carriers just to rub it in our faces.. finishing off our raven and abaddon pilots against 2 abaddons, 2 carriers. Eve is the blob, the bullying tactic.. and it brings out the worst in people.. " i dont need to make a point i just have to get enough people to laugh". There is no skill in this game anymore.. as you can never get a good 1v1 fight. Yeah i am a bit angry and a bit ed at losing my hyperion but that is reason enough. Now this.. was the icing on the cake.. got my enyo out and decided to engage a blackbird.. at a station.. fair does managed to get it into structure before leaving, then 15 minutes later just as my timer ends i warp back to the station just to get the famous " eve pc freeze up" where nothing works and eve completley es up my computer.. then my enyo pops from the sentrys.. after my timer is up. I'm really quite ed off at this game right now since they keep changing it to better the blob. ccp> " we want more fleet warefare" Now is it just me or is that complete ***s? as far as im aware eve is ment to be about doing what you want to do.. they are influencing the blob and making it harder and harder to play this game, *ing on the little guy. Gate camping == stationary target. If you had ****ed anyone off and were still there you deserve to change from hunter to prey. I mean, I know I'm good, but damn. Ego aside, people being more afraid of losing isk more than ever is driving the blob combat. The bugs also drive up the boredom factor, having lost a ship or two to faulty displays of aggression timers (including waiting 20 minutes on one occassion and still being blown up by sentries when trying to leave the system) all you can do is hope that ccp grants your reimbursement petition :P edit - Bazman here btw, meet my noob trading alt :P

You say SP doesn't make a differance, but would you have been able to kill that Megathron, Brutix and Ferox if you and your friends only had 5M SP each? How did this fight even happen in the first place? Your scouts should have spotted them coming and warned you to GTFO. Please don't tell me you were not using scouts to see what was on the other side of the gate you were camping, because no amount of SP in this game can make up for a below average IQ. Finally, since there were four of you, were you only engaging groups of equal size or bigger or ganking anything that came through the gate? If it is the latter, I don't understand how you can complain at being killed with 5:1 odds when you are out ganking people with 4:1 yourself.

If you got little band for pvp what i would advise is: 1-Never stay in place for long.You are sure to get blobbed.Move attack and move. 2-Use alt scouts.It sucks but the truth is i cant imagine pvping in small group without second account alt scout.I know it sucks but its like this. Cool down Tista, unplug for a week or 2 and you maybe th efeeling will pass, in my case it alwys did:).Dont do anything foolish woth your account

And if people jump through alone they will face a 4:1 ratio. Would you call that also a blob? If so, then you blobbed those people too. So why should it be okay that you blob some but when someone comes with nearly the same ration against you it is not okay? I agree that fighting 20 vs 4 looks not well for you. But...if numbers are such bad for you, just flee the next time. I don't know the circumstances, but if local suddenly rises up with 20 people I would be careful. And if local was already that full before, I would be even more cautious. The 350 mil hyperion is a heavy loss for you? Well, that is bad to hear, but especially in pvp don't fly what you cannot afford to lose. And if it is not a big loss for you, why do you care about it there anyway? Learn from it, make it next time better and kill them all. Revenge is a dish best served cold.

I'm just going out on a limb a bit here, but when you say that you and your 3 mates were "by a gate", I'm presuming you were "gate camping", no? I'd say your actual intent is a tad understated, which I'd judge to be self-serving in this post, but I think I can read between the lines enough to get the story. And so, your plan while camping this gate was... what... then? That if an in inferior force, or even gasp solo ship came through that gate, you were going to lockscramwebomfgbbq them? And instead, a superior force happened upon your gang first and lockscramwebomfgbbq'd you guys? If a two-man gang had come through that gate and into your camp would you have seriously said to yourselves: "Wait! The odds aren't even, we should exercise some decorum, like honor and tactics, here and let them go"? I'm guessing not - and that you would have wasted them without thinking twice about it. Couldn't there be some small chance that what you're really mad about is that you had done to you first what you'd planned to do to someone else? I donÆt know why people would be upset that the best real world tactic also works in Eve. Even so, a whole lot of tactics centers around preventing your enemy from using a numerical advantage against you. ThatÆs why defenders guard mountain passes and river bridges. In Eve, there are ways to break up an enemy force so you can fight them piecemeal. It wonÆt work against a disciplined force but the more people they have the less disciplined they tend to be. DonÆt ever fight a superior force on their terms. From the sound of it you were gatecamping and angered someone enough that they brought their entire corporation to deal with you. You canÆt realistically win against those kinds of odds. So, you should have warped when your (nonexistent) cloaked scout spotted the incoming force. Then you should have been warping out instead of fighting overwhelming odds.

You my friend get no sympathy for getting slapped around at the gate. Hell you were at the gate, shoulda run through it and slipped off on the other side. I will grant you some sympathy for the agg timer. had that happen to me once. But it was in a cheap arsefrig.

And there was days of old when highly skilled pilots could kill large numbers of lesser skilled ppl, the original BoB v Goons was an example of this, t2 v t1 diffrence was larger than now imho that and the hit point increase made it harder to chew thou t1 ships with ya t2 fitted ganka geddon. And for all those ppl asking for the ops stuff 1, get an original quote and 2, play the game for 4 years and maybe you can understand the diffrence in the game. to the op, CCP have promised some changes, i'm gonna wait and see how that pans out but atm CCP have balls this once great game up and i'm losing intrest.
