Ktor Caldari Clan Shadow Wolf Sylph Alliance	Posted - 2007.05.16 22:13:00 - [1] Sylph Alliance has regrettably come to a fork in its life- UK's recent actions have forced us as non-participants in their war, to face the very real threat of extinction (or at least removal from this area of space) at the hands of their new allies. Whilst Sylph Alliance recognizes the reasons for which they have taken such measures, it doesn't necessitate our compliance nor our approval. Faced with the contamination of the area, to the detriment of our safety and our objectives. We carry out what can hopefully be seen by many as the one honorable cause of action. We take up arms against those that oppose us. Our methods have always been based on diplomacy, forging many friendships throughout EvE, and defusing many such situations to continue working towards our end goals. Sadly this time it was made clear that diplomacy was merely a solution for stalling the inevitable. We claimed to be neutral in the war, and fervently upheld this ruling up to the time of this post. Both sides respected the fact that we had aims merely to protect ourselves against outside threat. Once one side undeniably bears hostility against us however, there is little choice in our course of action. Despite our anti-piracy pledge, and the invasion of our sovereignty space by endorsed hostiles, we've managed to stave off this day since the first incursion nearly 4 months ago. Not for self-preservation, but for recognition of the blue standings we used to have with UK... despite the situation, some respect holds intact. We will continue to aid those that find themselves in a similar predicament, helping them make the best out of this forced situation. Despite our name being plastered everywhere, we're not by any means the only neutral party being preyed upon. We're simply the only ones with an outpost. There are plenty of corporations and alliances that utilized our facilities and habited the area prior to these events. To make this clear, we never were allied to UK, we aided them only against piracy and maintained mutual blue standings and friendly contact, we respected them and counted them as soldiers of immense honor. We deeply regret that actions have played out the way they have. The way we view it is simple, through whatever circumstances, a vast number of pirates have been given the opportunity to base themselves a mere 4 jumps from our home system. Everything Sylph has worked towards has been abolished by this occurrence. The outpost is of no military advantage, it merely houses the concepts we worked hard to employ. From this point forth, we stand by all that seek to remove the Providence threat, knowing full well that though these may be our last actions in this chapter of the alliance, they were spent for the right reasons. As we see it, there was once an alliance that vowed to bear arms against all those that would oppose their stance and impede their goals despite the odds. We're simply returning the favor, come what may. Sylph Alliance

Sylph Alliance has become subject to attacks by those that don't know the history of the region and are in alliegiance to U'K thereby shattering any remaining semblence of respect and honor they had. Prior to the new additions to the struggle U'K was fighting valiantly and maintained their honor. It is how it is, and the fight will continue. I noticed however this announcement did not include mentioning working with CVA/NOS/Providence Friends already engaged. Indeed Ktor, you are not the only ones in Providence who have been affected by the decisions taken by Ushra'Khan, many have been, there is no point arguing the reasons anymore as it has been done all over Eve-O already. However I do wholeheartedly support your stance of standing by your morals whatever the cost, it is wholly admirable where lesser people may have taken other ways out. So yes, hats off to you for keeping your morals and I wish you all the very best guys

I find it twice as amusing since I've never seen a Sylph gang/fleet come out ahead in a single engagement since UK and their allies set you red. Lastly, I'm not a pirate. I'm a terrorist. Do any of you remember the days when we would rat together and laugh? Do any of you remember the epic battle against the pirate invasions? I have nothing but great memories of being good neighbors working together to keep Providence free. And now this. Ktor says Sylph has come to a fork in the road. And I encourage all Sylph to talk to their leaders about the choice of paths. Do you really think that siding with the forces of slavery benefits any of you in any way? I am not allowed to speak for my corps or my alliance, but I fight not for territory or money. I fight for the abolition of slavery. And I will continue that fight whether we have territory inside or outside of Providence. So I ask my old friends in Sylph, what do you fight for? Forgive me if I sound condesending, but what part of 'slavery is an abomination' do the residents of Providence not understand? Is it the part that slavery is immoral or the part that slavery is diseconomic? I may not be the sharpest tack in the box, but it baffles me that men and women of good conscience can stand by idly while the fascists in CVA think it's cool to have slave pens - the Eve version of concentration camps. I mean, how do you go home at night and tell your kids that slavery is acceptable and that your alliance has sided with the forces of tyrrany and oppression? And will you justify this move thinking it's a shrewd way to protect your POS and Outpost? Remember what happened to Imperial Order? When the war got tough against CVA they withdrew their support from U'K - and CVA rewarded them with a war dec. IO are no longer in Providence. How will CVA reward Sylph? Ktor says Sylph methods have always been based on diplomacy, and hats off to that sentiment. I encourage my old friends in Sylph to get your leaders back to the diplomatic table. Let's talk again. I know many of you do not want to be allied with CVA - arguably the most despised alliance in the Eve universe. But perhaps you fear that actively fighting for the cause of freedom may jeopardize your territory if CVA takes Providence. If U'K is forced from Providence, I predict one of two things will happen. Either CVA will then turn on you, or you will live under the rule of an immoral alliance and forever be known as collaborators. Either way, you won't be able to hold your heads high. What is honor without a cause? What is life without freedom? What are the consequences of collaboration with evil? Ktor speaks of the 'contamination' of Providence, and I believe he refers to the corps who may have pirated in Providence in the past and who have now rallied to fight the CVA fascists. I believe these people would quickly set Sylph to blue if Sylph would get into the fight. And if past pirates now rally to stop the CVA takeover of Providence, does that not send a message to my friends in Sylph that men and women of every stripe and color - including pirates - can come together to fight evil. I know the CVA invasion has forced our friends in Sylph to make some tough decisions. But you can't play Switzerland forever. Now is the time chose. Not just for you, not just for Providence, not for the U'K - but for freedom. Freedom from slavery, freedom of commerce, freedom to travel. I know there are good people in Sylph. And I encourage you to force your leaders back to the dilomatic channels. Do the right thing - or forever be a CVA tar baby. _____________ I do not speak on behalf of my corps or alliance.
