Since I came above 4.0 standing I haven't received any usefull rewards anymore. This seems strainge since I got quite a bit before that. Does anybody else also notice really bad rewards the last few days? ------------------------------ Audiofreaks ------------------------------ |

Yes this seems to be the way, I have 9.6 standing with my agent and haven't received an implant for days. A corp mate started on a new level 3 tonight and got 2 implant missions within a few missions.
Not impressed at all

It almost seems worth it to refuse missions until you get back down, and then start doing them again...

I have done missions for about 14 lvl3 agents at all kinds of standings (almost) and have only recived 1 implant so far....
If someone here needs some tobaco, fertilizers or shuttles (or all of it) I'm willing to trade for an implant

Was getting crap rewards from my Duvolle agent. Same story as everyone else - had high standing and things got to be pretty crappy.

I have a 9.0 standing with Duvolle labs, recieved 1 implant when my standing was around 7.0, I have also done about 200+ missions since and not a single implant, though I have gotten skills.

I am quite quite sure that the loot-tables for agents are standing dependant. I have no clue what the thresholds are to move from one table to the next but they must exist. When I first started working for my corp (at a 1.00 corp standing) I got very few skillbooks and not to many components either...most of the reward was in the form of frozen food and construction blocks (guess who my corp is :) ) I NEVER got shuttles. I worked my way up to Lv3 agents and a standing of around 4-5 and they were giving me more skillbooks but also mad amounts of tradegoods; shuttles started to drop (but slowly) as well. At a certain point the tradegoods dried up and the components really started to flow...shuttle drops picked up too. Now I have noticed that the components have started to slow down and the shuttles are coming on harder. I NEVER get tradegood rewards anymore. My corp standing right now is 8.2 base and I'm not to keen to get it any higher.
I think it would be very interesting for somebody with a high standing to intentionally bork themselves back down to a corp standing of like 5 or 6 to see if the drops they get change. I bet they do.

My standing for Fed Navy is effectively over 9. I get skills, tech and implants by the boatload.

I've got a 9.2 corp standing and a 9.4 agent standing. My agent still gives me implants, tech2 parts and skills ( and about 800 shuttles so far ) and a BS to kill every now and then.

This could be something to do with the fact that the agents think the runner should move up to a lvl 4 or 5 agent. Of course, since the lvl 4 and 5 agents still aren't implemented, there's not much we can do. (Just an idea though.)
It would be nice if one of the Devs could give us an answer.

In all my time as an agent runner I have recived a total of 2 implants and that was before Castor.
After Castor I have only recived ISK, Tech II components, skillbooks and shuttles en mass.
I got a corporation of 7+ and agent 6+.
I think getting implants is a case of luck, albeit the loot tables and formulas seem a bit FUBAR to me.
I am not sure how the loot system work, but they should look at the way Diablo II works with items divided into treasure groups and then the higher the groups the less chance of the item "droping" from a kill/reward. They woudl have to turn various killabel items into level too, so that a 3,5k frigate do not drop something it should not be able to do due to it's level.
If anyone has intrest in the brillian loot system of Diablo II a guide can be found at www.diabloii.org. -------------------------

Ive got a corp standing of about 9.2, Ive done hundreds of missions since Castor and only got 2 implants. I don't think its standing though as I have corp mates who have lower standing with their corps and they have had no better success than I have. I did hear a rumour that there may be a trigger that makes the implant missions drop but Im dont know what it would be.

I think that the implant missions are purely random, I work for the Caldari Navy, so needless to say I love kill missions. I've noticed that as my standings increased the ratio between courier missions to kill missions slowly slid towards more and more courier missions... So here's the weird part, I just finish rejecting two courier missions, then whammo, my agent hit's me up with an implant mission!
explain that?!

I was planning on moving to a corp with R&D, but have been putting it off because I was making so much damn money. But like so many others, as it seems, my agent just dried up and hasent given me ANY special missions/rewards in my past 50 or so visits. Not to mention I have THE best lvl III agent in the corp and she only has a regular standing of 7.
So I plan to do the little 'experiment' posted earlier and turn down a bunch of sh1t missions and see what happens. I think my corp standing is about 7.8 before my skill mods, so I'll drop it back down to around 6 and see what happens . (The ***** has yet to give me a implant anyway )
I'll let you know how it goes...

Could be logic in it. I've stopped working for my 9.77 standing Agent and went do another as her missions and rewards became utter crap.

OK I tried 'our little experiment'...
after the FIRST mission I declined, I got a mission for a Willpower implant! Yes I agree, I do not believe it myself. This is the first implant mission I have been given the entire time I've been with with this corp. ( over 200 missions easily) It is also the first mission I have failed in since my standing was about 4.0.
I think this is definatly worth looking into further. I'll continue to post my findings...

After switching to a navy agent I received two implants quickly and none since. The usually trick of rejecting a few missions to break the cycle hasn't worked for me though it was a good trick prior to castor. But I have to agree based upon my experiences since castor once my standing broke the 4.0 barrier my rewards have appeared to dimish. I am constantly getting "important" missions with a reward and bonus totalling little over 100k in value. Prior to that " I know this may seem trivial" mission sometime brought in over 200K. I would think that as I improved my standing with a corp and agent not only would I receive more challanging missions but also missions that provided a larger reward. I'll probably pick another corp and start working them for a while and see if the "goldrush" comes back. If you can catch me you can have me. |

They're not standing dependant.
Perhaps a bug, haven't spotted one like that for a while, but I'll take another look at it.

Papa do all corporations give out an implant of some sort? I have yet to hear anyone say anything about Carthum Conlomerate handing out any, and I haven't had any luck myself. This after going from 0.0 with them to over 5.0.

Stoop, I have a friend who does missions for Carthum and he has told me that he got an implant. Now, he could be wrong / mistaken / lying to me...but I thought I'd pass along as much as I know.
Sorry I don't know anything more definitive.

Assuming that the implant mission is the same in Amarr as Caldari, and from the names of the missions they all look similar, then yes, it does look like they give out implants.

Edited by: Ezra on 08/01/2004 03:56:03 Edited by: Ezra on 08/01/2004 03:12:51 I'm starting to buy into the "higher standing equals worse rewards" camp...
I've been running Duvolle agents for a while. For the past 40-50 missions the rewards have been crap. No skills, no implants, trade good/construction component rewards decreasing in frequency, and the ISK rewards getting to be less.
I just switched to a lower quality FedMart L3. In less than 10 missions I've received two skills and an Imicus, plus some components, starting with 0 corp and agent standing.
Could reward quality be related to how much your standing has increased in a given period of time? Thus as your standing increases, the increase per mission is lower, making the rewards worse. Kind of like the old bug where if a pirate had -10.0 security status he could go on a killing spree in empire space because of the fact that police response was only linked to drops in secstatus and you couldn't drop below -10.0
Edit: I'm now on skillmission #3 from FedMart, it's my tenth mission with them. ------------ Ezra Cornell pe0n, Xanadu Corporation |

The very same thing happened to me. Got my one and only implant mission from my old bp agent a coupla days after castor, when my standings were still fairly low ( 50% reduction due to patch ).
Now I've over 8.5 corp standing and 7.5 agent standing and I've noticed that I'm getting a lot of isk special rewards ( but no outstanding amounts, something like 60 k, 80 k ) and shuttles too.
Tech 2 construction material prizes have become very rare ,though i get larger amounts than I used to with lower standings .
R.Db rewards have basically disappeared.
I got my fair share of skillbooks and important missions I think.
Declining missions didn't work for me either. At one time I was getting so crappy rewards that I started refusing all missions to see what i'd get. Well, after refusing 20 or so missions ( all crappy rewards ) I lucked out (!) and got a 36 jumps round trip hauler mission with a sucky money special reward....
