My agent is getting really dodgy too. She hands out lots of super ISK rewards, 100,000+, but aside from that it's mostly shuttels.
As I wrote earlier I have not seen a singel implant sicne Castor. I think I will try and locate a new level 3 agent tonight and see what gives. -------------------------

I've been running two agents for the same corp and have 8.0+ standing with each and 8.0+ with corp. Received 5 implants since I hit 6.0 or so standing and probably around 10 or so skills.
Implants paid for my battleship by themselves :)

Ive been doing missions for about 2 weeks straight (sick at home) for a lot of hours a day.
I can say I'm content with the amount of tech 2 materials and skills I get.
But I only got one implant. That was within 20 missions. I think I can safely say I did more than 200.
I have already declined a couple of missions but I'm not getting any implants anymore..... Bjorn Borg : Underwear is futile ! |

Edited by: MATANDO on 08/01/2004 12:44:34 So it seems that I am not the only one. I had exactly the same as some of you, first 20/30 missions got a lot of skills then after reaching standing 3.0 got 2 implants and a lot of tech 2 building stuff untill I reached 4.0 - 4.5 then all I got were few tech2 mostly only isk and even missions without a bonus for quick finishing.
Someone in my corp just started with a new agent and got 2 different implants and some skills allmost at once.
Papa Smurf It would make sense to give highter rewards to people who have a high standing towards an agent and his Corp after all you do have to stick a lot of time in it!
Anyways untill this get's changed I guess I am going to start for a different agent now. ------------------------------ Audiofreaks ------------------------------ |

I just started doing agnet missions about 2 weeks ago
I started with a 0.0 with Lai Dai and have worked my way up to a 3.23 (including my connections lvl 3) so about a 2.3 actual
I now have access to all level 2 agents
Level 1 agent worked good - did a ton of missions and swapped em around between a few agents - got a standings mission and bumped to lvl 2 agents
Worked for about 3 or 4 lvl 2 agents for a long time - 1 agent in particular I did about 60-70 missions for -- she gave me a bunch of tech 2 stuff to start then bam 2 faction missions in a row - more tech 2 loot -- now she wont even give me a mission with a bonus -- I swapped to a different lvl 2 - with a lower effective quality, in effort to make the first one jealous and want me back - and got a faction and 2 skill missions in the first 10 missions i got - now it is only courrier missions and a few kill (every 10-15)
I swapped to the highest lvl 2 agent - a effective quality of 30 - I have done about 10 missions for her and got only 1 mission with a tech 2 bounus - all low transactions
I am seeing a trend as the better my standings get the fewer good missions I am getting -- I hope this changes as soon as I get to the lvl 3

Ya as my standings increased my rewards got worse and worse. I havent seen tools/components in ages, never had an implant mission at all, and even isk is getting less it seems (at 8+ with agent and corp and 42 EQ and getting 45k isk basic mission / 1k bonus)

This is not working, Agent missions are as above, the better the ranking the worse the mission reward. Why doesn't CCP look into this. We all do more missions in the hope a good one will come along but it doesn't. Why is everything backwards in Eve!

Noticed this as well. I have run lots of mission post castor and every now and again it goes through a patch of rubbish.
By rubbish I mean really low isk payment and usless bonus.
Then it will go back t the normal isk and decent(ish) bonus
Havent manged to work out a reason for this

Running missions for agents ranging from -1 standing to +8.5 standing, this is total crap
There are more isk rewards across the boards people, your all just higher in standing now, and think its some sort of conspiricy.

Then why is it that better rewards show up as soon as someone moves to a different agent with lower standing?
I had high (7.5+ base) standing with Duvolle, and was getting nothing but ISK rewards with most missions.
I switched to FedMart, 0 corp/agent standing, and received 3 skillmissions, a component reward, and a free Imicus within 10 missions. ------------ Ezra Cornell pe0n, Xanadu Corporation |

I also cant find anything to substantiate a change in reward by standing.
I receive lots of rewards, good ones, because with v high stnading i turn down the crappy jobs and now only do the good reward ones..
I have switched from an R&D corp to aother two simply to get different implants and have done so without fail.

My hypothosis is that during a mission formulation, that an agent figures ~ISK that he/she feels the bonus is worth, and then randomly (some percentage) chooses to get an item or group of items that are approximatly worth that value. That list of items comes from the corp's loot table, but has a bunch of things removed, that being most of the high-end items. So after a certain point you make TOO much "potential" ISK to figure into the loot tables anymore.
It's still an idea I'm experimenting with. -- TomB: End the speed-race. 1 propulsion mod allowed, make turrets affect ship attributes like +speed/+ab speed +agil for progressivly smaller/lighter turrets, -speed/-ab speed -agil for long-range. |

I think it has been nerfed just after Castor because I got a Medium Ammo BP from quality 18 level 1 agent, with not much personal standing and with negociation 3 and other people got awesome rewards from higher level agents.
How exactly I have no idea, maybe like you said, it looks to me that negociation is completely useless now, the effective quality maybe affect the number of shuttles or isk you get but not what you get.
It might have something to see with mission rate, if you do missions more often then the quality of bonuses would drop.

remember, standing doesnt determine reward, quality does. Standing does have an effect on quality, but its not very much. Best way to increase reward is with negotiations skill.
Also, theres a natural flux in the reward, its not set (or at least not to my knowledge), so the chances of you noticing a gradual average increase in rewards are very slim, but if you were to do 10 missions for a 0 eff quality agent, total your reward, then get that agent to 30 eff quality, do another 10 missions, and total the reward, there should be a net increase (discounting skills/implants that would greatly effect that reward figure). _______________________________________________

Quote: They're not standing dependant.
Perhaps a bug, haven't spotted one like that for a while, but I'll take another look at it.
Papa Smurf: So you're saying the chances of getting an implant are not standing dependant at all? That would account for those people saying "My first level 3 mission gave me an implant!" The number of people in this topic alone saying they fail a mission then receive an implant shortly after is... statistically interesting.
Before Castor I had the same problem. First implant at around 80 missions, no fails and continued to over 200 missions without implants. Failed one mission then started receiving 1 implant / 15 missions for missions 200->340 or so
Similar topic was around in the missions forum around that time...

As soon as i hit either negoiation 4 or 7.xx with my agent the rewards withered out to 50-60% of what i wwas getting before. I do not know which was the cause because they both happened roughly the same time.
Yeah the implant thing is buggy. This same agent gave me an implant mission for my very first mission. Yet here i am quality 40 now and still have not seen another.

Implants used to be standing dependant pre-castor, but im fairly sure they are not anymore.
it took 200+ missions to get my first implant post-castor, but ive switched corps and got one relatively quickly (20 missions) with a low standing with the corp.
Unless of course its the faction standing that is now the minimum standing, which it very well could be. Otherwise its just luck. _______________________________________________

One thing I'm wondering, that would jive with the current standing system, is if rewards are linked to the standing gain of a mission. i.e. the greater the standing gain, the greater a chance of getting a good reward. But instead of being linked to the percentages, they are linked to absolute gains. Thus, as your standing increases, the absolute gains per mission decrease, making the chances for good rewards significantly less.
Either way, quality seems to do nothing, because I did better BEFORE training Negotiation skill up with my Duvolle agents, and currently do better with a lower-quality FedMart agent. ------------ Ezra Cornell pe0n, Xanadu Corporation |

Got bored yesterday - reached 9.0 with my lvl 3 agent. Received 2 memory implants and about 8 adv skills on the way up to that post castor (was 6.0 pre-castor)early on.
Hadnt had ****e for ages save 80k missions with 120k rewards and loads of tech 2 parts, so decided to just decline mission after mission til I got some good stuff.. either implant of adv skill
5 straight declines after another got memory implant mission offered. Sweet - droped to 8.3 standing. Sorted. Again declined loads again - got 2 adv skill missions (completed) standing 6.2, declined 5 more - implant mission memory - standing 4.5 ish. kept on declining - 1 adv skill - standing 3.0 - kept on declining till agent refused me at 2.5 standing.
Conculsion - lost all my standing with lvl 3 agent - made - 2 implants @ 17 ish mil and 3 adv skills - so made i.r.o 45 mil knocking back the agent till it hurts.
Come back Plouse Olandes lvl 2 agent all is forgiven!

I have 2 lvl 3 agents I work for.
One is EQ 45 rating 9.76 (superb) the other is EQ 31 rating 9.5 (superb)
Corp standing is 9.6 (superb)
Faction is 7.06
Haven't had an implant for over a hundred missions, the tech2 component rewards appear to have shrunk is quantity, and the cash rewards have yet to exceeed 200k total.
I'm gonna start mass-refusing one of these guys, and continue with the other as before.
I'll let you know if anything turns up. .

Edited by: SUNscatcher on 09/01/2004 15:31:46 I'm working three agents out of the same station. I simply refuse assignments till I get what I want(not implants unfortunately). I'm able to gain either, tech 2 stuff, >200K isk missions, or the good loot drop missions. Working three agents at once makes it easier to bring the corp standing back up to. Also these agents are all Navy so courrier are auto rejected thus max travel on any mission is 2 jumps(50% in same system, 45% one jump, 2 jumps the rest). I have also recieved three perception implants since castor(which I thought odd cause before castor all I got was memory[caldari]) and have recieved no implants from the agents I received all my implants from prior to castor(got tired of 30jump courrier missions one way). I have also gone to other corps I dont use and simply reject missions till I get the homeless or superconductor missions, accept and fail to get the stuff and continue till the refuse me then bounce to another corp and repeat. Long term effect this will Have I have no idea but its keeping me in homeless.
PS This is a total change in my approach because the only thing standing seems to have an affect on is whether or not an agent will talk to you. Thus the system seems borked ........ If you can catch me you can have me. |

It has been said multiple times that the type of implant is now based on corporation and not faction. Hence why you get perception now.

I would have thought we would have heard something from one of the mission developers on this subject by now.
It seems almost everyone reaching a high standing is seeing diminishing returns as their standings get higher. Almost everyone with a high standing is having this problem, not just a few here and there.
Even my straight cash mission rewards have declined down to 50-60k for mission completion and a bonus of 40-60k. Where before I would get cash missions for 200-300k on the average. This is in despite of the fact that I trained negotiations to level 4. My tech II components and tools rewards have been cut by 50% as well. Skills are rarely seen as rewards now.
My theory is the rewards system is completely backwards regarding standings. Hence the implant mission I received for my first mission and none since. This being a HUGE mistake in coding the developers do not know what to do about it, which is why we have not heard anything back on it.

I started with about the worst lev 3 agent that Astral Mining has. I now have a 6.6 rating with her and she has started to reward me with implants. I have received 2 Willpower implants in the past 10 missions or so. Her base rating is -19 and modified to a 2 with all my skills. It did take me a while to get it so she doesn't charge me an arm and a leg for collateral. Witha ll that has been said and done I am not sure what a high rated agent gives you instead of a low quality one.

k I'm not even gonna bother reading this thread, but I can safely say that it isn't true, I've got 9.9 with the corp I work for, and the rewards are just fine, and the important missions frequent. Precastor (obviously) and Post Castor. (As well as a Level 3 R&D agent) Post Castor I have received implant or high quality rewards but then some missions were bugged and it is crystal clear that things got tweaked. I have not recieved an Implant since pre-Christmas and my agent standing is 9.99. I noticed that my missions are fun but are not wide in varriation. I used to get kill missions with 55k rats. Now the highest I get is an ocassional 35k. Someone has been tweaking things and it is not in our favor.
ON a Different Subject. Pre Christmas I had a mission that required me to get a Defunct Drone Sensor Module out of Tama. The Debris Field had no rats in it and the Sensor Cans were empty. I noticed a giant secure Corp can there as well and figured that it was camped..... well I am not one to fail missions. It goes against the grain. So I petitioned and had my Corp Director Purchase the Module for 500k so I would get the bonus and not fail. The bonus was a Tristan BP. I did not get the Bonus 'cause I waited to see if the Sensor Mod would pop. I did not wait long enough cause I just received Mail From Pann (following Papa Smurf's recomendation) stating that their QA Checked out the Chaos and Tranquility servers and sure enough the Modules popped once per hour. NOW>>>>> I WANT TO KNOW how the hell am I supposed to go on missions and golly gee guess I'll wait here an hour to see if a module will pop when it is not in the mission brief at all???? SO Pann declined to repay me the 500k I spent getting the module from some griefer.... EVEN though they previously paid out for bug caused errors. A non R&D Mission is supposed to pop an item required. I was also told by the Original GM Gusto that it was posted here that Mission specialists were not to purchase required mission items but that they were to petition. ALL I have to say to that is NUTS and Malarky! IF there is a pertinant bit of news for immediate resolution of a game problem it should be in the news. GMs are required to read the boards prior to play/work ( I assume), Players are not. I don't have time to sift through all the posts in this place. So to Papa Smurf. I disagree with your decision. IT is Flawed. To Pann, I am appreciative and amazed that ya'll spent so much time and messages checking out the situation and I am indebted to your extreeme dilligence.
That is customer service that goes beyond the call of duty. Even if I don't agree with you and Papa Smurf on the resolution, I respect your effort.
Thank you EagleHawk
Post Script: Statistics Pre-Castor I had well over 600 missions with my Fed Navy Agent. My Charisma is 20, Social 5, Negotiations 4 (5 in work), Connections 4
Regarding the Tama Mision: I failed to mention that that was the Identical Mission for the Gallente Racial Blue Print (Pre-Castor) so I knew it would or should be tough so that not only was my time wasted but 2 other members of the tight knit group in the Missions Channel joined me to lend a hand as we expected 18-20 missle firing NPC Rats...... I never saw that mission again and I never see any scenario missions.
Regards EagleHawk
