There is a big difference between "northern NAP squad" and Alliance. We have blue standings because we are fighting along side with same objective against same enemies.

The foundations to the current events in the north and "how quickly MC has been able to destroy D2" have nothing to do with the paper tiger stuff.
D2 Fountain campaign was a disaster. Our forces suffered heavy losses down there, it started with a suicidal jump to Xelas home system, right in the 1st evening there with about 50-70 bs going down ( dont remeber now ), then the titan loss right in the middle of yz-, Y-2 bloody battles, and then F-T in Delve. The fighting spirit was broke there for a lot of people/corps. The POS was destroyed but the amount of forces lost there after such a huge effort from the coalition, didnĘt pay in the end.
D2 was in need of a break there after the F-T episode, but after some days MC started the attacks in Fade and then came P-2 battle. It was decisive I must had, and never again MC forces saw a sizable D2 fleet.
If you ask me D2 isnĘt dead. Is under terrible external pressure but with the corps leaving the internal pressures are being slowly solved. In the end what will be left is the hard core, and from there D2 will grow again.

I remember a similar quote (only remove D2 and put FE) post about a year and a half ago before the five split.

There's indeed a big difference between alliances that've helped each other out a lot of times over a long time span, and a freeloading turncoat alliance like yours, who have no problem shooting the guys that've gone to great length to help you just a few months ago :) Fair play, but don't presume you're in any position to make any comments regarding the "northern nap squad". |

Makes sense.
The Coalition seemed to underestimate the cost of defeat in the South.

Instead of being bitter about being defeated, why don't you focus on the ares you can improve and plan for the future. Look beyond nano gangs and decide what path you wish to take in the game. Coming onto the forms throwing a hissy fit just makes you look like a sore loser. If you did your best, keep you dignity and earned respect and have a good long think about your direction in the game. If you are unable to hold space without the umbrella nap or iron and d2, maybe live in the npc stations and build up from there.

He is not bitter. He called ESA turncoats, it's not about being bitter. I think even wraith would agree to that term because they did change sides. They've done it about 4 times now. It was FIX, then it was Pure Blind, After that down to Fix again, after that BWF and now Deklein. No offence but it's abit moronic by that indiano guy to first in other threads presume he knows something about how the coalition works and then give us alliance vs coalition verdicts when he's not been particularly involved.
Oh and RZR hasn't flown nano in quite abit. Some members might do it if they are incredibly wealthy but generally it's not worth it anymore. Our standard fits are anything but nano :)

Good Post.
Though we are enemies in game, i sympathise with D2 to an extent, as i myself was once a member of a large grand alliance, that was systematically ground down by multiple enemies (LV), very similar to D2.
So the circle turns again. You pick yourself up, dust yourself down, some corps go, some corps stay, but all in all you stay friends. Eventually you'll find a bit of space again to carve for yourself and start the process again. Thats what make eve exiting IMO.
I wish you luck, though i'm sure you guys won't need it. Just need to take another breather before the plunge once again.
I've only been in game 1 year and on my 2nd "lap" now!

Actually, I'm not bitter, I havent enjoyed the game this much in a long time. Losing a region is very unfortunate, but that's all part of the game, and if indeed we lose the region I would respect and congratulate the side that took it, as they did a better job then us at this point of time.
Also, what Fred0 said covers it all, and thanks for your advice. |

Most interesting comeback / jab.
When we accept a contract, we take the wish of our client and make it our own.
Thus, it's perfectly valid to me to make a post worded like that without having to resort to saying "as agreed to in our contract" every other line. -

Those of us who continue to resist BoB and its allies as best we can cannot be faulted for sticking to our guns and our principles. A lot of us have always been shot at by BoB and their friends, and so we do our best to fight back.
D2 got this latest "thing" started and a lot of people got involved with next to no notice and little time to prepare for what lay ahead. Now D2 appears to be done. The "rest" of us continue to do what we have always done...travel the hard path of being red to BoB.
D2's end surprised me a bit...when dbp said what he said, I thought he was wrong. Then again, I wasn't counting on so many turncoats and people who just dropped out. Seeing D2 splinter yet again didn't help. Few entities can stand up to that kind of turmoil. I know that Morsus Mihi appreciates all the past assistance that D2 provided during our time of need.
Those of us in the North who remain committed to resisting have nothing to be ashamed of. We're now fighting for our homes and remaining committed to each other as we always have been. Some people like to deride us and call us the "Northern NAP Fest" or whatever. Call it what you want, but the main entities in the North have always been friends and are always there for each other. Those with the weak ties have already pulled out, turned-coat or just disintegrated.
Those that chose the easy path made the choices that were expedient for them. Great. Not exceptionally brave, but I guess a comfortable choice. Enjoy your new lives.
Whatever happens, its been a relatively enjoyable fight when you exclude the incredible lag and server issues.
QFT - and you know Razor will be there alongside MM/Pure/Hydra and all the others (apologies, short term memory is not so good :p) fighting the fight till the bitter end.
Spose the only other thing to say is good luck, less lag and let's keep it smack free! (that includes seleene, we know bumpin an MS is like trying to knock a bus off the road with a bicyle but hey.... twas funny to watch )

Edited by: Mythrell on 30/05/2007 14:31:05 This seems to be as good thread as any to thank all from both sides, this has been most interesting weeks of EVE so far.
I don't really agree with the paper tiger stuff since there was many nice battles up there (like the one with 70-80 losses from both sides, I personally had time to get rid of two ships during that fight). I mean sure our numbers went down very quickly after corps started leaving or forming new alliances, but those who stayed fought hard against bigger numbers for weeks.
Anyways it was fun times and I wish good luck for all northern allies. Personally I'm not going to be around that much next couple weeks and after that I need some empire time, PvP is great and all but my heart is with building, not destroying. Besides, after being in every D2 fleet op when I was online since joining up has filled my quota of big figths for atleast next 6 months, maybe even more .

To me theres a certain amount of poetic justice to whats happened in the North.
D2 was probably the straw that broke LV's back insofar they did a good job distracting BoB from fortifying LV in the South. Thus it could be argued D2 was very complicit in the destruction of LV.
Ironically the split up of LV helped the Alliance by the remaining fragments being spread all over and wanting revenge. It was as if a large out of control vehicle became 3 or 4 more focused entities.
It raises a smile that D2 who having helped destroy LV now see BKG taken over by one of the aforementioned entities. I dont think they expected that one when they jumped on the bandwagon.
Congratultions to all those involved and big props to my old mates in M. Corp (M. Pire) , you guys deserve it!

As Mythrell already nicely stated I also want to thank our enemies for the nice battles we had during the last weeks. I also think the paper tiger stuff sounds a bit "smacky" because the corps that did not leave fought hard and did what was possible, but there is only so much you can do while attacked by about a dozen alliances, no smack or disregard to what they have achieved, thats a valid tactic and we would have done the same eventually. ;)
But anyway, just wanted to express my sincere thanks for our enemies and of course to all that still are around flying with us.
With best regards, PSEWAR

There are a few moves left in the North but checkmate is now guaranteed. By your reply I guess that will be when all you have left standings is your king.

Being involved in the BKG station siege has eased my past anger somewhat. Its taken 2 years.. but I think I've moved onto the next spiritual level in Eve, lvl 1 being able to loose a ship, and saying GF! at the end.. lvl 2; loosing/gaining space, and having the maturity to thank your opponent afterwards for the fun fights no matter the outcome.
Thanks for the experience and battles up here D2 n friends.
