How.....fun?
Only the winners will decide how much of a "napfest" it will be, Zimi, can't you see that?
All the naysayers, all the "omg too much blue" naysayers really need to stop and check their history, for there is one group - and one group only - that has continually kept the politics of eve on its toes and has never been afraid to up-sticks and take the fight elsewhere, for no other reason than... why not?
And we'll do it again, far before it gets "boring".
oh like the one time you declared war on the WHOLE of eve and noone was safe.... except ahem MC, FIX and everyone else you was blue with before the Molle annoucement.
Anyways who cares, BoB are the only ones really willing to play the POS game with dedication atm. i just don't think you will get any real fights because very few people wanna play the game that way for long periods of time. BoB are willing to do that hurrah for them, but the chest beating over it is kinda lame.
I'm really sorry to bring this up but you do realise that we destroyed fixs outpost egg during the standing reset yeah , coz like, they weren't blue at the time
Which just makes FIX's present stance even more
I know, it's crazy that after destroying the coda and helping fix retake querious that we would be blue

Okay, I wasn't going to say anything, but here goes:
Here is BoB's strategy:
1) Throw renters at enemy force. 2) Find new renters to throw at enemy force. 3) Throw MC at enemy force. 4) Throw pirates at enemy force. 5) Pay any renters in enemy territory to turn on enemy force. 6) Splinter alliance by making promises with individual corps / alliances friendly to enemy force. (Break later). 7) Finally show up to fight, gank 1-2 people still around, declare superiority.
I fought a ton of Xelas, M.Pire, YouWhat, ****, MC......but no BoB. Hrm.
The biggest reason we lost is it didn't matter how many billions of ISK damage we did to any of the pawns, it wasn't to BoB. That's how BoB fights, throw everyone and their mother at the enemy and make them spend their resources instead of your own. In addition, they only engage if they have at least a 2 to 1 advantage. I'm not saying this is a bad strategy, it appears to be quite effective. However, making the claim BoB is ruthless.....how can you be ruthless when you fight from the back?
Much as I dislike BoB, I have to say, "Isn't that pretty much your fault?"
No-one stopped you going into BoB space and fronting BoB did they? You chose to hang around on the edges fighting the pets where the risks were lower and the kills easier.
When we got pwnd by BoB we didnt see too much of the pets because we were in bob space (for about 10 minutes I admit) and were going up against them.
If you are going to get pwnd, you might as well get pwnd by the Daddies.

Lol, i gotta get some of what you are smoking. D2 had the choice of bringing it to bob but went to fountain were we weren't at the time, we then came over and fought a couple of times. You never defended your poses or tried to finish of ours when we were within a 100 jumps. In fact, d2 seemed to be somewhere else UNTIL we left to deal with querious. You guys had the choice of coming directly to us, flexing, talking tough but never bought it when we were there, fact.
As for the other gibberish. So we outnumber redswarm in the east do we? Mc were sent in to fight redswarm for us? All our allies are fighting redswarm for us and we are hanging around near the back ? So in the capital battle of 9-9, it was everyone else but us fighting ? Renters in omist were doing all the fighting so far?
Propoganda is all well and good but when you make fantastic and ridiculously stupid comments like that, it makes me think that you have been drowning in your own lies so much that you actually believe it
D2 , you threw the names, the insults, insulted our allies, talked tough etc. But you knew where we were and decided to go elsewhere, it is not our fault that you attacked the other side of the universe to attack our allies and not us. I said to you before and i'll remind you of what i said back then

I haven't fired mean anythings. I decided awhile back not to flip my lid on the forums anymore, the break we had and seeing all the assclownage going on really puts things into perspective.
Selective quoting aside, doesn't it make sense to you that if someone brags they are going to do something that they should do it or not brag about it. Trolling 4tw eh

There never was a war to begin with.
There was alot of smack from BoB , from D2 and from whoever else is a forum *****.
Ow sure , there were some fights but it has never been a war.
Firstly , cause BOB has no intention of taking over the north (they don't have the manpower to defend south and north) Secondly , The shortsighted leaders of both ascn and d2 sealed their own fate.

for me its over as it has been proven that bob and friends are quiet dedicated and willing to do boring things at a game, maybe ragoon/tcf can stop them but whats going to happen when mc has free hands and Ragoon/tcf are facing more super caps then ive got fingers on my hand?
Anyhow hopefully this will be the start of less napping, smaller alliances and more pew pew, but I doubt that, but with at least branch having new owners its another region without explo/em hardenrs and we are close to do round the galaxie trip without meeting anyone blue.

You should have discussed this to your leadership when they decided to invade fountain and go on a campaign against Serpentis. Up until a month ago your alliance had far superior forces and if your friends showed up, you could have stemmed the invasion. Yet, Clankillers and many other D2 were busy pirating in empire in motherships and carriers to gank the random nuetral bs. You call us BOB renters, yet in our months and months of time in BOB space we paid nothing. You chastise BOB for not bringing it to the north? They didn't have to.
This post is very far off. Your fate was sealed in fountain and when D2 showed up the amount of smack at BOB was overwhelming, but the fight was only brought to BOB what twice? Rest of the time it was Xelas/Axe/Panic/Fatal none of which you guys handled well.

I totally agree with Oree's standpoint. In SWG before teh ghey jedi and combat balance, I was a die hard rebel. It sucked to see all my friends eventually turn traitor and join the imps.
I kept fighting though, even if it was just me fighting.
Now being a simple low sec pirate, 0.0 politics don't affect me too much. But I can appreciate Morsus Mihi's standpoint and I salute them.

The sudden implementation of the system cap was indeed a perfect trap, well done ;)
once again..
The system cap was announced in a blog at least a couple of weeks before this event happened, possibly even more. "Sudden?" If you're going to comment about the game mechanics, at least read the freaking blogs!
Why are you replying as if it even came to the system cap?
Local never came near it. Not by a long shot.
It just seems that some people were unaware of the laggy and unresponsive nature of Jump Portals when trying to move over 100 people.
Our tactics of the day demanded that our fleets held the surrounding 2 systems and that the hostiles would be forced to jump portal. System lag from portalling is far better for the people already in system and much more unreliable for people trying to come in from the Portal. We knew this because we had been portaling left right and center for ages.
Coalition had a very good chance when TCF was briefly in control of the neighboring system to F-T with their BS fleet but instead of trying to jump in to F-T and cause a ****load of lag + confusion in the system they stayed and got destroyed by the lag + confusion that was caused when Allied forces came in to their system.
In short coalition should have gone for Control of systems next door and then force normal gate entry to ensure either total cluster **** or proper control of system. Jump Portaling was the worst tactic to choose, in terms of getting as many people in F-T as possible.

I read the 'freaking' blog, it was posted quite a while before the f-t 'battle', but wasn't enforced untill then. Hence, "sudden".
edit: what the f-t 'battle' proved, was that the game can't handle the climax all parties were working hard towards. There are no winners, only losers, so claiming a side won is kind of silly. |

To my knowledge the cap was active, else everyone would have been able to jump in. Just because there were not 700 people in the System does not mean there was not cap active, the cap can also be reached in other ways like massive use of drones which will increase cpu load on the node to a level where there is not much cpu left for enemies to jump in.
But I think that is already a bit off topic here

Actually no, there is no difference between them. Both are "arbitrary" hard caps introduced by CCP. Some of the newer players within EVE might not know that, but this caps were not always there. No arguing here if they are good or not because like everything it has positive and negative effects.

The alternative is a node crash.
I think I prefer the node not to crash, node crashes suck and have all kinds of side effects that make the game very unpredictable. -

you would have a point if the attackers actually were outnumbered or suffered from any arbitray cap. But they werent neither by pilotnumber nor by lag (many bob pilots stated they had terrible lag). A possible cap kept the game alive. Something which is above any outcome the best thing which can happen. As for the jumpportal, read joans reply. Portals are buggy and always were, a well known fact amongst ppl who use them. Not to mention that everyone even the slowest coalition pilot knew that eve could not handle unlimited numbers in the system. To cry havoc because this knowledge forced you to have an equal fight is just silly.
The true spirit should be that even playing at a disadvantage (which wasnt really the case in this scenario apart from the initial lag which always strikes) is better then crashing the game and not playing.

I think this debate about F-T is a bit mute as my understanding was that the message coming from the coalition after the battle was that the coalition could easily replace the dreads either by quickly getting new ones or from existing stocks.
