Ok this is how it goes. I went 31 jumps to Vaini to check some of the stuff on the market. Then I went into FOUNTAIN (knowing that I'm not suppose to) and I thought that the FA would pod me if they saw me. Well I ran into Emperor (Spartan now in EPA) and Havocide (BioMass Cartel), so I decided since I was still totally new to this game I would just continue on my way. After a few jumps, I jumped in right above Havocide and then Emperor jumped in right behind me. I was in a shuttle and thought that I could out run them, but I didnt have a chance to. (I never saw them lock onto me.) This is the message I received after my podding.
2004.01.28 05:26:00
Solar System: Y-1W01 System Security Level: 0.0
Involved parties:
Name: Havocide (laid the final blow) Security Status: 0.5 Corporation: BioMass Cartel Ship Type: Megathron Weapon Type: Neutron Blaster Cannon I
I came to the conclusion that I really dont know if Emperor fired on me or not, but I do know that Havocide did. Now I know what kind of people we are dealing with and it is all crap. Why in the world would someone want to pod a noobie in a shuttle? I just dont get it.
Has this ever happened to you?

its because of those 'newbie scouts' aka alts who are basically unkillable because they get podded again and again but u never really get rid of them..
btw those that attacked u aint FA, they are pirates(Forsake empire)

Hailfire, i know your pain :)
Happened to me early on ( no implants yet in the game, wheeeewwww ) by some pirate or another. They apperently think it's fun. hehe their stupidity i guess. You rarely find the decent pirs any more, the ones who let you go for some Isk. But then again, i haven't started 0.0 surfing yet. You may just have been unlucky

Yeah I do need to get in line. Hehe. But what are these alts. I dont get it. Why take an alt somewhere when you can take your main character there and deal with it yourself?

and that my friends is the difference between an alliance and pRATS.
we kill to secure the area after ignored warnings.. yes its a weak system, but it saves many innocent lives. they kill for fun and try to justify it. simple

Because you WILL get blown up. So why take your nice ship out to get blown up? Especially if your just gather info about who is there, where they camp, and if its possible to get ore anywhere where they are not. Like I said they WILL kill you.

no dont go into fountain, you will not get our warning. Because we dont know who is good/bad. We know the miners and pkers there are bad. fortunately we have the man power at night to kill the miners. During the day we have enough to fight the pvpers. u.s. times

Edited by: Pancho on 28/01/2004 22:44:41 The only real differance I have seen between the "good guys" and the "bad guys" in 0.0 systems is that the good guys just blow up your ship and give you a chance to run away in your pod. Bad guys will pod you in addition to blowing up your ship.
To me neither is any better than the other if you dont have implants. I mean your still gonna loose your 400k-12mil isk low lvl ship if you take your main out there cause the warning and chance to run only happens AFTER you get blown up. I even had a "good guy" ignore me when I asked him several times if he was gonna blow me up...and this "good guy" blew me up and podded me without a word. Then later when I was headed back a corp member of his just blew up my ship and warned me to leave. I mean think about it...they are all blocking areas from everyone. I actually tried to arrange a deal so that me and some corp members of mine could mine in the area. The guy I got pointed to talk to kept me chatting for over an hour asking all kinds of question bout my corp and demanding proof of our being a true legit corp. I proved it then the arse said well this area is closed to everyone.
Like I said either way you loose. Good, bad...whatever...lotta grey in there if you ask me.

nobody asked you. some alliances are different. some pod you just like pirates. FA gave warning. Members that dont give warning and fire only get ... well lets just say its not good for a player to act like a pirate in fa. The difference is plain and simple. Test in each region if you got the money. See which area actually gives you a chance.

My OPINION is that there is no significant difference between the two and if the so called good guys cant control their members then they ARE just as bad as the bad guys. DonĘt like my comment? DonĘt read it. Your arrogance only further proves my point.

Actually Hailfire...to add a lil to all my comments another reason to use an alt.
If you go into a 0.0 system and ask them why they killed you they will normally say "noob corps are KOS"
So if you go in under your real corp name they say "your corp is now KOS" so the safest bet for your corp at least with scouting. This is not everyone just everyone I have met in the 0.0 systmes so far...which is damn near everyone corp wise.

oh im sorry, im sorry what i meant to say was mr pRAT alt that is trying to make alliances look like priates.. you can frost a turd but the filling is still the same. pRATs pod, take money all day long for passage, they still blow you up. I have seen it done, and its happend to one of my alts. I paid to go through in advance, still lost my ship, and pod. no convos, no mails, no talk in local i killed my alt. Now to go into fa, b4 it was crowded with pRAT cocroaches, you got a warning. If you communicated, sometimes we even gave free escorts. TELL you the truth, to tighten up security we should behaive like pRATs. I am defending the way it is set up and I do not like people saying we are the same. I appologize if you are not a pirate alt, but b4 you open your mouth and say alliances...(this classes all) kill just like pirates and there is no difference.. pls take a first hand look in each region and make sure that you know who is who.
yes many times n00b corps are kos because they are scouts of the enemy to report on how many and what is guarding. There are even signs on secure cans that give warning.

If we could be honest for a second... everyone is someone elses pirate. FA and large alliances claim they are "protecting their territory/interests" while pirates (those generally accepted as pirates) claim they have rights to that territory as well. Both are an integral part of the game. Both claim that the others are the evil party.
You'd be wise to understand boundaries in that section of space. Do you have ANY idea what sort of warzones you passed through on the way to Fountain?

The minute you start attacking any and every ship you see the terrorists have won.
I know everyone in m0o has different goals when attacking alliances, but I like to see infighting and people resorting to what essentially is piracy in order to feel some sort of control over their "claimed" region.
Thanks! Hope ya rebuild so we can do it again sometime!

starting off as a miner I have been against pirates from the first time I got shot down. I never even visited the forums until then. I could see where pod kills were but did not use my map to watch for player pirates. Now I do. I have been trainin pvp skills since I lost that ol thorax and kept up with pvp here and there. Watching what wars were going on, who was podding who, seeing the pirates try to dismiss what they do gives me quite a laugh. From being in an alliance I got to know A LOT of players. A few here and there decide to go pirate so they do bad things to get accepted. You should not judge an entire alliance on a small number out of what 800? Yes the one that shot me down the first time was an fa member but his corp disolved and he joined m0o. He was on his way out and seeking pvp. That was months ago. In my experience being on FA patrols, EVERYTIME we gave people a chance to buy a pass, escort, and yes if they refused to leave we usually blew their ship away and let the pod leave on many occasions. The pass bought time to hunt. If you wanted to you could get a few secure cans out there, load it up with ammo, then go chain spawn for hours. I made 12 mill in a few hours.. only in bounties. The mods exceeded that by far. MANY people that dont even bother to write on the forums and I cannot blame them had a great time and came back so many times to chain spawn. Fa even gained a few allys out of the business. All alliances are not pirates. If you think they are, sorry but your wrong.
