While I agree that CCP does have some issues 700 people fights have NEVER worked! Someone said that it was managable after reboot with 400 and that I can understand since that has worked several before under good circumstances. But 700...in your dreams!
And I'm not talking to any particular side here, those already in the system cant really do much about whats coming but jees guys, come to an arrangement or something.
I do hope we will be able to have 700 people battles, thats just so insaine I must do it before I leave this game (tbh I want to do a 1000 man battle for like 5 hours straight or something).
Anyway, not sure what to do, spreading the figths over several systems could work but then again that puzzle has to really come together by luck for everyone to be at the right place at the right time with roughly equal forces and that all figths start at the same time so no one can be reinforced...
Bah, just give me the fraps already!

was not intentional , when you homes are under attack you pull out everyone to defend , we were sitting happy untill the others jumped in..... Your signature image exceeds the maximum allowed dimensions of 400x120 pixels and filesize of 24000 bytes -Sahwoolo Etoophie ([email protected]) |

I pretty much agree in your points what you forget is that everyone has a lot of friends/naps and so its quiet hard to tell ppl to not come when your are not sure that your are winning anyway - when alliances would try to nap less and fight more there wouldnt be threads of 12 pages whining.
But i think its quiet amusing that everytime such a "battle" with 500ppl+ is about to "happen" that there are still ppl that are beliving that this will go smooth and without any lag.
I dont think anything gets reimbursed cause "battles" like that have happend before and nothing got reimbursed.

Thus their capitals were relatively defenseless. CCP is at fault here.
Unlucky to mpire/fatal/cow, but we all know this is a small loss for you
I managed to fraps the entire fight after the node crash, and so when a movie is published with it in, you will see how one sided the fight was.
Now: Let's keep this smack free and civil.
Well I havnt read all the pages to this thread yet but I kind of disagree here blood. Yeah it sucks people lost capitals and all but its their own faults for logging capital ships into a situation where they knew it could be hostile and they had not secured the gates at all. Lag/Desync = CCP's fault.. Logging in capitals with no eyes/security at gate.. Pilot stupidity.

While i do agree with what ur saying.. When the mission objective is set and the opposition has fielded 250+ man power fleet, what is there left for us too do when we cant cyno in a cap fleet and spliting are fleet up would have been suicide... I cant see any realistic idea CCP can come up with to stop theses fights... Its the way eve wants to go... I prey for the day technology lets have the fights we are all dying for :p
I fear any more ideas CCP come up with to counter the mass blobs will only break this game even further

Still for the life of me I dont understand why both enemy fleets jumped into BKG at the same time , you mustve known the only outcome was the lagtastic thing we all had to endure last night.
Our FC's attempted to avoid the mass jump-in lag and give the node time to sort all of this out by jumping us in group by group of which we had several. Apparently a small group at a time was simply too much.

To the fellow who was saying that the problem was the fault of the defending forces for logging capitals back on at an unsecure gate.....
I can understand where you;re coming from. The point was though that it was assumed that all people logging on were facing the same problem- we had the numbers at the gate before the node went down and if we just refrained from logging back in after the node was taken down, we essentially were giving up the fight.
Had similar numbers managed to log in from each sides, the fight would have built back up nicely as folk logged on. The problem was that our caps logged on and found themselves faced by a large hostile gang with grid already loaded and seemingly playable lag, whilst most of the support was still staring at black screens.
'Tis life in 0.0 battles- one day it goes our way, the next another way.
Incidentally, I think we should all leave any tinfoil hattery to the goons and get back to the fight asap....

First Goons, now the north. Can you see the one constant in your constant beatings. You.
If you dont want people to have to assemble a 500 man fleet, dont put multiple carriers, bubbles, ms's on a gate. Simple.
Listen to the lame smack from the totally unrelated to the events goon member, it's really not called for.
We are actually holding our own here SUAS, after the lag has cleared we have given good account of ourselves and given just as much as we have received.
And as for this "BoB pets" that people find it so easy to label us as... M.PIRE currently have no dealings with BoB, infact we are not even sure of their standings towards us - the only thing we have in common is our passion for fighting you, and anyone that allies themselves with the alliance you are in.
Remember SUAS you used to be on my side once, but you found it more convenient to switch sides when you couldn't handle it. I remember being sat next to you in Cache in battleships shooting RA POS's - quite a turn-around for you huh.
Would "failed alliances" be a better term instead of BoB pets?

Yeah but that presumption will get a capital fleet killed. Unfortunatly until we see systems with like 12 core processors and huge amounts of solid state memory then processing that many request will simply desync almost all high-end servers. That is a lot of data to process and feed back to people.

Lame exploiting of game mechanics, if you ask me. But whatever... they won't get BKG. Its all pointless.
I don't think anyone else really thinks that was anyones intention. Especially since the node didn't crash, it was reset by CCP.

I've been in bigger battles than this or F-T anyway. I jumped in there, after one hour i filed a stuck petition. One hour went by without my stuck petition and then i was killed. Black screen all the way. GL with your petitions, I wish you would be succesfull with them but then again I also wish CCP would be consistent in their petition responses, we wouldn't want them biased now would we? :)

No dont agree with that at all.
They did what they felt they had to do to get into system. I think it was a feckin bonkers call but thats theirs to make. If the server had held it wouldve been a turkey shoot for us on the TRI gang as we had multiple carriers on the gate and drones going radge left right and centre
At lest we got a resemblance of a fleet back on and managed to take down a lot of enemy BS later on in the night unlike our previous dealings with CCP initiated node moves.
Next few days will be interesting to say the least lets just pray to the lag Gods to leave us alone for a while
It was a turkeyshoot for RZR because you deployed all your drones/fighters and crashed the node on yourself.

Seriously, what?
RZR brought 15 alliances and 400 people to try and take V7 from cow, hoping that m/fatal wouldn't get involved. You don't think that's blobbing, what about the 300 that attacked BKG when there was no m/fatal here? What about the 400 that sit is s-e when we attacked?
Look, you've picked your side as razor again, there's no need to pretend razor are in the slightest bit hard done by up here, they just call everyone to fight their battles.

If you really believe that, then quite frankly, well, other people have said it.
As darknesss said, we came for a fight, we are going to get one. How hard is that to understand? We don't form up 200+ people just to run away again.
We told EVERYONE to jump in, every last person. We had no idea the node would crash, we expected there to be lag/desynch and everything else, but do not accuse us on exploiting the game mechanics.
Do not count your chickens with BKG. Sure, noone knows how it will go for anyone, but don't smack before it's obvious.

hey w0rmy. I apologise for my early comment, your right both sides do blob. If there was a large war that TRI could get alone we would take it but the only enemies up here to fight have strong relations with other powers. Simple fact is, even though we can get 170 in a gang, We know that COW/FATAL/MPIRE/F-S can get 300.
We arent doing this for fear of losing our space, we would relish the challenge. We are a war making alliance, unless someone brings a war to us we will bring it to them, stagnating would destroy us.
Lowa, i think asked why we brought 700 to a system. We were backing up RzR/MM who had attacked BKG. If all the defenders have to do is bring 300+ to a system and crash the node to defend it then that would make them near invincible. The servers cant handle it, and i was expecting a massive list of problems to occur, but its either u jump in and go for it or you turn around and go home.
Respect to M.Pire FATAL etc. i really do hope TRI can get some good large semi lag free fights with you guys.
