It looks very similar but if you look closer the "class" at boss front-sides and the front-top is missing (that "looks like docking bay" style). and either the two ships are streched somehow or they are two different ships. front one: long-small behind one: short-whide even that wings at the bag look totaly different from scale. but it can simply be a nice artwork with stretching ;).

EVE engine has a specific take on the perspective, so the objects near the corners and edges have different proportions. just check the planets when you move them to the corner of the screen - they lose their spherical shape due to the camera angle. Sure the ships have a bit more detail in them but that is it...a bit more detail when zoomed way in on them. Nice as far as it goes but this is what they put in hundreds of man hours on? To hear the Devs talk the new graphics are uber awesome. Slapping on a bit of bump mapped detail may perhaps be a lot of work to do but the overall effect from what it was is only ok. Seems with the revamp to the graphics they had a perfect opportunity to resize planets (make them feel big) and stations (make them feel bigger), spiff up some ships like the Moa and so on. Perhaps screenshots do not do it all justice and when seen in action I'll drop over in awe. For now though it looks about like it does today (seriously...Tempest hardly looks different at all...a bit but nothing to write home about).

I think the background for the Tempest doesnt really do it justice either... the fins are supposed to be transparent for example, right? Well, at least we got a glimpse of a minmatar battleship with the new engine... finally.
