When I was just a bit younger I kind of felt I needed this kind of support.
This is the exactly wrong place to ask it, but I am suprised this thread is still civil.
So...
The only advice I can think of is stop trying to ask her out/love her/whatever. Just go there to MEET her, don't go there to ask her out. It's easier. Once you introduce yourself, everything's easier.

Other tips: be playfully mean. be gently authoritative, and general just be a confused say one thing do another personality. Schizophrenics get the hottewst chicks, that is a known space-fact.
talk a lot of smarmy emotional bull**** that actually makes you want to cringe when you hear it but most women can't help themselves. Just don't overdo it.
buy them lots of shiny **** with no practical value. Of course 101 women will probably come on here and deny all this, but as usual with women, no means yes - and they are more concerned with the principle of admitting how fickle they all are than actually being straight forward and honest.
Before anyone calls me a chauvinist or something - I think men are equally fickle and rediculous in their habits as women.
Yes I am a androgenous goat which allows me to make this kind of comment without straying into hypocrisy.

Hehe, You would be better off asking your parents than this place (don't do that).
The only real way is to tell her that you think she is beautiful(key word), and ask her if she would like to go out sometime.
Just ask her while shes alone (not with her friends arround) or she might not give you an honest answer (girls with their friends act in strange ways).
Honestly young sir there is no tricks or magic potions to this, and if you dont speak to her you will regret it until you; either find some other girl to dream about or move out of town.
also what magazaki said, If you haven't already spoken to her you need to do that first, let her know who you are and get to know her.

Crimson, You havent said where you meet her, except it is in a setting where alchohol isnt appropriate.... which actualy is an advantage.
I used to be very good at this when I was 17 and in school...
First priority, talk to her, dont be direct and tell her you wanna marry her or something to that effect..
Get her to talk about something that interests her... pets, horses, close, books, movies, other ppl you both know, school, work you do, stupid siblings, the weather, flowers, math exams, politics, Paris Hilton, George Bush, knitting, religion, computer nerds (they are all antisocial and geeky btw), University, lawyers (all useless ppl that should be strangled at birth), price on apartments, plans for the future, childhood, church, scouts, mowing lawns, monkeys in the zoo, endless universe, Latest developments in medicine, scars, shoe size, teachers in general, quality of school lunch, traveling each morning, getting up early/late, parants and grand parants, racial tension, spin doctors, actor's in general, men marrying MUCH younger women, Last Harry potter book/Movie, Michael More, earlier schools you attended, tattos, Anime cartoons, 100 foot high trees, military service, authism, venting frustration, 4-letter words and how awefull they are, romantic history, Shakespere, The agony of being in love and telling someone.....
So, basically be indirect and just talk to her.... eventually the list of topics will end up at the bottom of the list... when I was 17.... i had a 100% success rate with that approach :)
The real secret is listning, girls want to talk endlessly, it makes them feel good inside !

Crimson, from personal experience I suggest it is better that you tell her that you love her than keeping your distance and remaining invisible. It is so much easier to get over a "no" than it is to get over your lack of confidence.

"Hi, my name is *insert name* I just wanted to tell you how *pretty, funny, I like the way you flip your hair, roll your eyes, tell people to **** off, how intelligent you are* and I would like to ask you out to *dinner, paintball, playstation, movies, motorcross race, insert favorite hobby here*
Say it calmly and speak it matter of factly. Ask her out to something that you like doing. This serves two purposes
1. Women initially like to find out what you like and do...that stuff is interesting to them even if they dont like the activity in of itself. Later, when you marry her, they will still despise the activity and get ****ed off when you spend time doing it...but that is a different thread
2. It gives you an arena that you are familiar with and a topic of conversation that you are knowledgable about and like talking about.
If she says no, then **** her, there are tons of other chicks that are going to give you butterflies, but not tonite, tonite is for getting ****ty with friends.
