Improvements in this version: Audio bug hopefully fixed! Much, much faster on all modes. Improved interface. And more... Version 2.1.1, September 7th, 2007 What it does: Converts your EVE Online video to an MKV file with H.264 High Profile video and AAC audio. Why it does it: With H.264 and AAC, your videos can be vastly smaller while having similar quality. Smaller filesize means less load on EVE-Files and faster downloads. How to use it: 1. Install AviSynth. The installer is included. 2. Open AutoEncoder.exe. 3. Choose a video file, choose an audio source, choose an output filename. 4. There are three different encoding modes: High, Medium, and Low Speed. If you need your video done quickly, use High Speed; it'll cost you a bit of quality. If you don't care about time, Low Speed gives 5-10% better results than Medium. 5. Once you have chosen your encoding mode, choose a quality level. The slider ranges from Low to Medium to High to Ultra High (nearly visually lossless) to Lossless. Lossless mode usually creates very, very large output files. If you want a quality not available on the slider, just use the Custom bar. 6. Choose an audio bitrate. 96kbps is the default; choose lower for a slight decrease in file size, or higher for a slight increase in quality. 7. Double click the encoding mode of your choice and off you go! The encoding may take a while depending on the speed of your computer. The encoder is multithreaded and can take advantage of up to 4 cores. 8. You're done! If someone needs to know how to play the video, paste the following forum code: You'll need the [url="http://www.cccp-project.net/"]CCCP[/url] (codec pack) or [url="http://www.videolan.org/vlc/"]VLC[/url] (standalone player) in order to play the video. Also note you need a pretty fast computer to play it back without stuttering. If your computer is too slow to play the video at full speed, download [url="http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Codec.htm"]this codec pack[/url] and install only the included CoreAVC. If you have the CCCP or FFDshow already installed, disable H.264 decoding in its video codec settings to activate CoreAVC. Note that VLC does not support CoreAVC. which yields You'll need the CCCP (codec pack) or VLC (standalone player) in order to play the video. Also note you need a pretty fast computer to play it back without stuttering. If your computer is too slow to play the video at full speed, download this codec pack and install only the included CoreAVC. The video is encoding fine, but at the very end when it tried to combine with the audio I can see some "error locating..." messages and then it spits out the file minus the audio and in the temp directory

Well that's easy if I implemented a mode where you choose the bitrate, but with Constant Quality mode its impossible to tell. For example, if you have a video with tons of stuttering and low FPS, and perhaps very little motion (fleet battle, say), you might be able to fit 20 minutes in 150 megabytes at a very high resolution. But the same length might be 500MB if it has a lot more action and motion. I personally dislike having the user choose the bitrate; it means you usually overestimate or underestimate. If you want to estimate the output filesize, do a High Speed mode pass and see how that turns out. When I add it into the encoder, it starts, says theres an error opening the file, then thats it, and the DOS window dissapears. (I had to hit print screen to see what it was saying) Am I being a complete muppet? Anything i've missed after following the directions on this post here? <3 Izo Azlion. ---

As soon as I try to start encoding a file in VDub it gives me an error code -100. Still haven't been able to fix it.

Open the .avs file created by the program in your favorite media player (not VLC). 3. Does it work? If not, reinstall Avisynth. 23 Member EVE Video makers: save EVE-files bandwidth! The latest version of CoreAVC is definitely not free, but IIRC some older versions used to be.
