Yet again. I think this is the 3rd post ive made reguarding these forums.
Today when i logged into the forums i see more people spamming and all thats happening is the mods locking the topics being created meaning these alts just got make another topic adding again to the spam. Maybe its just me but I notice the same people spamming every day.
"Jamie 315", "Yet Another CAOD Inspired 1 Woman Alt Corp".
This is a prime example to name one. The rule on the forums is you can post if you have your corp name showing or your alliance name. Now what the hell is the point having a rule like that to prevent alts if the alt can then go create a corp to spam the forums.
Please.....I would like to see anyone thats abusing this rule or just constantly spamming new threads to just be removed from these forums. Basicaly what im trying to say is Mods are not being hard enough on these chatacters.
I realy did think the EVE community was alot more mature than this but day after day im proven wrong and im sure that alot of the other players who use the CAOD forums to find out what going on around eve will also agree with me.....

I'm using the Firefox plugin, and it's great. I don't even see their posts. If everybody uses it then they'll be gone.
Just double click on their corp/alliance/name and they're blocked.

Someone just linked this to me in game, and I'm gonna give it a try. And yeah, atm the forums are a complete ******* ****hole, it's an embarrasment

These forums have been garbage long before jamie 315.
It all started with goon forum circlejerking imo.
I mean seriously I know I'm biased but is there no1 outside of the bob/goon war that realises that the forum goons are ********?

The most sensible way of dealing with it, would be to restrict your account to one forum account. You'd still get alts but no where near as much.

tbh i was also going to mention the goons. but they are such a big alliance no wonder they have a good hundred spammers. 90% go goons are proly not to buy guys tbh just a select few.

Maybe the solution is found in adding the Allaince as requierment to the corp ticker rule. Wasting a Bil for the right to post her should do the trick. *****s joining up an Allaince can be weeded out with ease.

the real irritating thing is, some people in NPC corps/with corp not showing say really interesting stuff; but they just get their post removed and a forum warning and what more. while the annoyance to this forum just continues****ging arround.
i say the rules arnt working, everyone agrees?

CCP'd probably have to add a new forum just for alliances because people will moan because they're right to post has been taken away.

there are occasionally some really good intelligent or damn funny posts but honestly i find most of this is guys just trying to make a name for themselves running their mouths because they cant run their turrets

I say Forum IP BAN for clear alt char, and post all the char names on all accounts associated with that IP.

kick the alts, make a new forum for alliance discussion whit ticker as requirement,
and a new one for normal empire corps aswell, they been pushed out of COAD and need somehwere to post to. and bring back Jade!!

Completely agree. Time and time again I see people getting insulted by obvious alts, alliances mocked and just general annoyance by these obvious alts.
Mods, can't you warn and do something about those who are being a nuisance...not just the alts?
It's very hard to prove who is an alt. Ban the obvious ones and for those who are general idiots ban them as well. The forums are a better place without them.
To the bob guy pointing fingers at the goons, you cannot blame this on any single person or alliance to be honest. In my time on these forums, I've seen BOB, AAA, MC, goons and all other big names smacking. All alliances have their own idiots. Goonswarm is a huge alliance, they are bound to have more.

If the forums can pull in corp details, why not corp size?
Corp size must be 10+ members to post in this forum, alt problem solved!

I don't mind the Goons, they at least post with their mains, and they have some pretty hilarious posts, sometimes. In fact, they have some pretty hilarious posts most of the time.
The alt posts **** me off, though, and the mods should start handing out bans left and right. Credit-card-wide bans. If you have James or Jamie 315 on your account, every account associated with that CC should be banned from the forums, permanently.
I don't think that's an extreme position, I think it's a necessary one.
And when certain Goons or anyone else crossed the line, give them a couple warnings, then do the same thing.

I think you all are barking at the wrong tree.
The mods got very little power, the rules are made by CCP and the forum are made by CCP both of them sucks.
the forum allow easy necromancy, allow people to post aginst the rules and all the **** a normal forum would allow the mod to automaticly block the fact that the forum dont do this mean it's one more thing the mod need to do by hand so less time for real mod work.
As for the rules, i am sure the mods would have love to use the bane stick much more often and be more hursh, but the rules are made by CCP and they have to follow them.
And don't forget CCP actualy decide that the mod are going to go away anyway and be replace with "somthing better" (i dont buy that line but that's the spirit of what they said).
If i post something smart it represent my corp and alliance all other posts are my feeling/ideas only and do not represnt the rest |

I'm afraid this is where you're going wrong. The only sensible thing to do is let go of the 'mature community' assumption about Eve-O, have a sense of humor, and allow yourself to giggle at ForumAltPoster's sig from time to time. I promise you'll feel a lot better about CAOD if you just give in to the idiocy of it all. :)

Because, after all, if this rule was put into place, you would never see recruitment threads of alt-posting corps, would you? Same goes for alliance only posting.
If the alts want to post, they will find a way around any reasonable rule. Just ban the s**tposters and trolls..both altposters and mainposters, that's the only real solution (and it's not perfect either)
