Sometimes I wonder why no one seems to care about repeat threads? I mean, I can understand a few, but.. is it REALLY that hard to reply to an already established thread, instead of making a new one just to complain and go "OMG I CAN'T LOGIN!? Wtf help!!!" People don't bother to care; they can take the time to ***** but they can't reply to an already established thread, instead of posting the 4,875th repeat thread within 2 days.

It's kind of sad that many people have to resort to flaming, instead of simply making their argument and being mature about it.
Even if people DO know what they're doing, and it IS their job.. **** happens. Human error is in everything, and things are going to happen. Or perhaps you disagree?

That's why over the last weekend, a nuclear power station in Nevada was hacked into and taken complete control of by ONE PERSON...
Granted, the guy was HIRED to do so (thank God) but yeah... so apparently even those people don't.
That, and Nuclear Power Plant =/= EvE Cluster.

For the anti-haters let me ask you this.
When was the last time a SOE server crashed? Or better yet when was the last time a SOE server crashed over and over and over for several days?
Answer #1= A LONG time ago. SO long ago in fact I cant remember when the last one was.
Answer#2= LMAO never
You tards act like its some huge thing to manage a large data base and yet so many companies do it day in and day out with rock solid reliability.

<sarcasm> Well, it was mature of you to flame me, that makes your argument(s) that much more credible. </sarcasm>
And I'd hardly call it *****ing and whining about your *****ing and whining, it's more of pointing out the obvious.

Honestly, though, in all seriousness, how many of you know what goes into keeping a server cluster like that operational? It isn't as easy as you would think... that's a LOT of data and information to handle, not to mention when BoB and Goon go at it with like, a thousand ships on each side... what do you think that does to TQ?
I do not care! That has nothing to do with me. I pay for a service, and expect it to work.
If this game is too big for them to handle then they should have never put it on the market.

Also, I do have somewhat limited playing time, but you don't see me *****ing about it. There are many things to do. If you don't have much time, and can't play your MMO because it's down for a few hours for updates, do something else you enjoy?

Sure SOE's servers are reliable, but they ruin every game that they touch. I'd rather play a great game with iffy reliability at certain times than a horrible game with great reliability.

Honestly, I don't understand the mentality behind people who like SOE and their games. In my opinion, they run every one of the games they get involved with into the ground. Sure, some of them have tons of subscribers, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the game is GOOD. (ie: World of Warcrap)

Hey, you gotta admit these threads are a funny way to pass the time whilst the server is down, especially the people who whine in a creative and humorous way. This game is fantastic, the only reason you guys are moaning so much is because you are hooked on the games complexity, but you have to realise such a game comes at a technological price. The technology to create a completely stable server that never crashes hasn't been invented yet and unfortunately as I'm sure you'll all appreciate being hard core gamers, system crashes have been with us since the very first computer games were invented. When we hand over our subscription fee its not the hardware we are paying for, its the game. I'm sure you'll all agree that a game this good is worth the annoyance of a few crashes and the more times it crashes the more chance the engineers working on the problem will find the cause and fix it indefinately. I'm not on my high horse, I'm just saying be thankful that such a game exists in the first place and be patient with the creative developers who made it possible.

And that's where our opinions diverge. A company the bases its whole existence on one single online game should do better, especially in the QA departement. Right now it looks like a lot of trial-and-error and bandaids (quick and dirty) to fix problems.

Originally by: Thufir Hawats Well, you guys are right. Eve != Car, Eve != Power station, but Eve != other MMO also, and EvE != good service.
You have to admit that it's getting out of hand since Rev2. Friends of mine have lost stuff, I know of an Alliance that lost the executor corp and is now blocked for far longer than a week but petitions don't help because support is completely overwhelmed by all the issues of the recent "patches".
And now crashes several times a day, I wonder how you can stay calm? Did you only want to check some sell orders? Or are you one of those people that always have to take the opposing sides?
Anyway, in a way you reached your goal, people are now flaming you instead of CCP. But then it's all in vain because CCP anyway doesn't read these threads, and that's OK because they better fix the problems.
Actually, i play EvE quite nicely for a few hours at a time when my university work permits. All without lag or connection issues... I have done this the better part of the last three months.
Consider I have been playing eve for a little over two years... i started back when Domi's could field ten heavy drones and thoraxes could fly around with ten small drones chewing thru all sorts of enemies.
I have been with CCP thru good and bad and ya know what? Yeah, at times it's frustrating... but that's when I remember these key words.
It Is A GAME
NOT REAL LIFE.
If you don't like paying for something that is imperfect, then stop. It's a simple solution isn't it?

That isn't even a smart argument, now you're just back to random bashing without any backing. Tell me you're joking? Service DOES take time, and you can't sit there and tell us that you haven't gotten any service. Just by maintaining 100,000 subscribers, maintaining the servers in an updated condition and regular patching is service enough on a broad level, not to mention fixing the servers when they go down and idiots like you flame and spam the forums with thoughtless threads and posts. Realistically, CCP probably doesn't even get to read any of the threads on here, and all of the whining is no more than a fickle attempt to direct your frustration on others, rather than relax and realize that THESE THINGS TAKE TIME.
You get into a car wreck, your car's totaled: your mechanic will have the car fixed in 2 hours? Don't think so. (and don't give me any BS about a temporary rental car, because I anticipate it coming and that's irrelevant in this comparison)

Problem is, CCP is also a relatively small company. They also are doing something that, as far as I can tell, NOBODY has done before. They are pioneering... having this many people on one server able to interact at one time... it's an awsome, new thing.
How many of you knew that EvE was around almost eight years ago... and it flopped. HARD.
I forget who was the developers at the time... but CCP came and worked their ass off to make the EvE that was released I believe five years ago.
I played the ORIGINAL "EvE" beta all those years ago. It's a foggy memory but you know... they have come a DAMN long way since then.

First 22:00, then 23:00, now 23:30. I'm not going to lie, I'm definitely somewhat frustrated, but I understand, and I'm being patient. Most of my play-time tonight is gone, but there's always tomorrow, right?
The more time they have, the less they have to rush, and the better able they are to fix the problem(s).

Generally, some people seems to think that todays technology is perfect, and does not cause malfunctions on its own. Well. It would be great, but its never gonna happen.
Btw, about same time the server crashed, i noticed that also my ISP cut the network from me. Well, i headed out to go buy some cigarettes, and noticed that the nearest cash machine announced "Cannot connect to your bank.".
This must be some conspiracy thing.
