Not wanting to be too picky but do you mean "falled over"  . To me a failover strategy implies parallel systems so that you keep running. This looks more like good old-fashioned but possibly unfashionable failure. No doubt Microsoft have redefined the concept while I wasn't looking 
If there was ever a good reason to think about alternate servers where your disgruntled subscribers could at least faff about while waiting, I think this is it.
What you get your servers to do in terms of transactions and simultaneous access is truly impressive and would be more so if I wasn't using it for recreation.
Hope it gets fixed soon. Maybe we should send "Get Well" cards to the Database?

CCP says their daily downtime is 1 hour. Usually it's only like 1/2 that, but lets say 45 minutes to take the odd longer ones into account.
That means that CCP is giving you 15 minutes of EXTRA gametime per day, which equals ~91 hours per year.
Now, downtime caused by crashes are FULLY covered by the EULA that you sign up to so you have no reason to complain there, so in essence, you owe CCP just below 4 days extra subscription per year.
Otoh, we could also take the alternate look, that CCP will be happy to pay you money back. For each 24 hour extra downtime due to bugs/crashes, they'll refund you 1/30 of one months subscription. You'll of.c. have to pay the costs of the return, which will be Ç19.95

Thank you CCP for these crashes. And thank you for not charging us for them. They come totally free, and you have our sincere gratitude for that!

Don't joke about that... I've worked on a comms system which one day, suddenly after about 2 years of 24/7 uptime (apart from a couple of routine downtimes for testing/power upgrades) died. Went to investigate and found a rat... welded to the cable ... urgh.
I know your pain. Love the little buggers chewing on everything -_-

Out of the last 5 failures (fall overs) whatever you cool kids wish to call them, Seem to perfectly time themselves to 5 mins before i need to change a skill as i'm going out to have fun. work. sleep whatever.

I have been sitting in the station, like a good denizen heeding the looming threat and adamant warnings that the server is going to crash soon.
My hours have been devoid of the usual carefree activities, in fear that a wayward server crash will leave me in darkness and expose my ships bare structure to unsolicited and unscrupulous weapons fire.
Why must we suffer so in this dire loneliness as time passes by, only to find comfort in the vision of dull hull-plating that portrays the inside of the stations?
My weapons remains cold still...

Your game is broken. Please fix it.
On a more serious note, it feels that the game is the most unstable it has been during my 2 years of play. Aside from the now daily server crashes, lag and desyncs are worse than ever. I truly hope that many of these issues will be fixed in the November release and this great game will once again become fully playable.

I would be happier if they just announced a two day downtime and fixed it all.
My corp is in a war- I need a reasonable expectation that the server will not go down (again I said reasonable) in order to play.
To put it in short form: This isn't fun.
I mean the threads on the forums are entertaining, for sure. But I'm beginning to forget about the game.
