That's only partially true as they still have some obligations to fulfill and many EULAs don't hold up in court against a nice little class action lawsuit. BTW, how does it feel to be the last fanboy standing? Well, some people learn sooner, some later, some not at all.

If this type of service continues I'll be quiting forever. But a show of force by the players like what you are suggesting is just what's needed to get the point across the CCP. We all know that there will be problems from time to time. But this has gotten out of hand.
We should set a date for a 2 week "no login" period. CCP seems to be doing it for us already, but we should do it ourselves. I have a number of PS2 games I could play to pass the time. Plus the new TV season starts soon.
No login would actually help make it seem like there weren't problems. And they'd still have our money.
Back to the servers to play before things go again.

Yes. Its normal for any mmo to have problems. Especially one as advanced as Eve is. But this isn't about normality anymore. Its about principle, and appreciation. Every other mmo I have played since 1998 has at least "shown" thier appreciation for customer patience during unscheduled outages via extended billing, in game items, temporarily increased xp rates, etc...
Except CCP.
Server goes down, you get "its a database issue" or some such other generically produced response. 4 year old issues go unaddressed, while they add more bug ridden things to the game. I'd MUCH rather play the current game in stable condition, than walk in stations watching WoW kiddies emote each other like hormonally overactive ******s.
At the very least, show me that you appreciate my patronage and continued patience by showing me that you truly care about keeping me as a customer. Some small token to prove you value my business would likely go quite far.

I refuse to continue to pay for this kind of service. CCP offers no compensation for these crashes and interruptions of our game play. They even refuse to accept responsibility in most cases from I read sometimes. It's like paying for gasoline that you just pumped onto the ground. Useless and wasted and there is nothing anyone is going to do about it. Time gone. Money gone. An if this continues I know that I'll be gone too. Hopefully other will follow.
Maybe then a real solution for this problem will be sought out.
Lol. Next time read the EUAL huh? It explicitly says if the server crashed its not their fault. By playing the game yuo agreee in a very legaly binding way.
So please just shut up or GTFO

DT is scheduled, you know when it is and you prepare for it by putting your char safely out of harm's way. What about the FC that lost the battle because of this crap? What about the guy that lost yet another set of T2 heavy drones ? What about the carrier pilot that is now probing down his fighters while in a system with hostiles - or just putting them down to lost ... another 150m down the drain. What about the guy who had a few cans of ore in the belt about to pick them up ? What about the guy who just hit a faction spawn and was about to collect - won't even mention officer. What about the guy that was doing a plex of 7/10 and above and now he lost the chance to a huge ******* pay after 2-3hs of probing like hell. What about the guy that was about to finish his level 4/5, and had looting on the way and because of this his wrecks are now gone.

Database issues? Still?
Tell MS you're going to switch to Oracle or Sybase if they can't sort their rubbish out. I mean, come on, enterprise grade DB doesn't throw a wobbly multiple times a day.

CCP! Can you PLEASE go back to what you were doing back in 2005 and before.... as in Reimbursing days on accounts for things like this. It kills my time for the game with the GTCs. I want to get what I paid for... and at the moment, I am being cheated out of it. --------------

Me and my corporation (120 account) is going to remove all our subscription plans.
I'm afraid is the only way for demostrating something, i'm sorry, our patience is out, first you have continuous trouble on your servers, and then when people lose "ships" for YOU inability of working on this game i have to read pre-written answrer from your gm with written "We are sorry but nothing was wrong on your loss, maybe is your pc or isp"
Wtf people, the server goes down 2 times in 2 hour and is MY ISP FAULT? or MY PC FAULT? when ppl are unable to give the client any command for 2-3 minutes while everything keep going on the server side??
Crazy.
I hope more people will do something for demostrating we are getting bored, this game is great but the dev side regarding performance is realy lacking any logic, i clearly readed expert people from other MMORPG company pointing out with clarity wich were the problems of the CCP software, and i HOPE in next patch you will fix something, the problem is that are 3 years that you say next patch we fix something, but well i remember that 3 years ago the game was way more fun and stable.

This is the first time i am posting in a "server down" thread. Usually i just let them do their work and hope for the best. However this week my playtime was cut in half by the multitude of server issues that came up(admittedly due to bad timing and luck but meh). If i hear the words "database issue" or "investigate" once again i'll probably jump out of the window.
I am sure CCP and their team do all they can to resolve these problems. However it should be obvious that this problem is a bit more severe than the usual hick-up after patch day. What i feel is a big problem is the lack of information.
After one week of continuing crashed all we know is its something with databases and people work on it. I mean after a week they should be able to at least falsify some potential causes. But no. No word on whats happening or whats the reason the change of hardware during one of the dt's didn't work out. I know its not going faster only because they say they care, but maybe just maybe some customers like me would feel better. Is that a bad thing for you CCP?
I've seen Wrangler personally closing dozens of spam threads about the issues. On the same token he apparently has no time to make an informative(!) post to the community. (not duh server is down or duh server is up - i know that from not being able to log in)
And the fanboi crew spaming "quit or stfu" i can only give you the very same advice. Obviously you like not being able to play. Thats just fine but other people pay for this service and asking for some info about availability and *consistent* server issues is just as common as expecting the cable guy to set up your tv correctly after you paid him. And no at this point i am not leaving and you can't have my stuff.

Originally by: Elliott Manchild I'd rather you keep it down for a few hours and actually make it stay up rather then just keep rebooting it and then it crashing again and again.
They probably would if they could or had a clue about what's broken, but it seems that all they do now is reboot / restart the DB.
isn't it funny how some people advocate both GTC<=>ISK trades and EVE being superior due to its cruelty and costly losses, when they use the former to circumvent the latter?
