a teleporter of some kind.. would be awsome :P
but well to stay in the spirit of the game, then the abillity to turn my boosters to 20% energi and my guns to 180% energi.
or if it gotta be a item, then something fancy like mindcontroller, or something like that.. or alot of things if we could have our own mini starbase and the abillity to catch and torture our enemies ^^ _____ _____ "When the moderators are gone, the trolls dances on the table." |

I would take:
Any type of "Blaster" sidearm.
A talking ship computer with a sense of humor (that won't try to kill me)
and.....
a supply of anonymous red-shirts to get podded in my place.

CRX tracers from the Lensmen Series (EE Smith.) ItĘs a simple little module. Lock on to your target, activate the device, and the beam will stay on the target even if he flies off at 90 parsecs per hour. The beam doesnĘt do anything to the target, except let you know exactly where he is and to follow him.
Tractor beams like the ones in the Lensmen series or in Star Fleet Battles. Tractors could hold a ship motionless and keep it from escaping. The SFB system would be much better than the current warp disruptor/webber system we have now.

Although described as a self-guided missile, in practice Dreadnought functioned much like an autonomous starship. It possessed shields, phasers, a complement of quantum torpedoes, a Thoron shock emitter, a plasma wave weapon, engines capable of reaching at least Warp 9, and a sophisticated computer AI"
So, I didn't read the whole thread, after this one I had to stop and comment in true geek fashion... I think 2000kg of matter>energy conversion comes to something like 43 billion tons of conventional explosives. That is an awesome number, and after figuring it out, I realized it was hopeless because I have no clue what it takes to destroy a small moon.

1. The Infinite Improbability Drive.
2. FTL Drives from Battlestar Galactica - they are so cool and would be so useful.
3. Matter/Antimatter Torpedoes.
4. Though not-so-sci fi, Battlestar style flak guns.

I can't remeber what it was called, but the Honor Harrington series books, had her in some "lance" cannon/beam thingy, that if you got the right shot just cut the ship in half...
