title says it all. i figure right now that is my long/mid-range goal. i'm still fairly young eve-wise and figure assfrigs and hacs are a fair goal to set for myself. is it feasible to skip over BS's, just continue doing missions / ratting / noobpvp in an ever pimping-out battlecruiser while i get support skills and other necessary skills up for assfrigs (and eventually hacs)? i figure why should i work to get my heavy guns and other BS stuff rolling if i don't plan to fly the real big stuff.
thanks for helping eliminate noobishness and ignorance.

bout 12m i think it was, but you should be able to handle one about the 10m mark if your spec'ed in them from birth so to speak. -------------------------------------------------------- [Video] Forever Pirate 3

ehrm, 35M at least? dunno, at 34M now and still dont have hac skill ;o
not sure on amount of SP, but before you get into a hac you'll want at least lvl4 in various support skills.
so awu4, electronics/engineergin5, cap skills at least 4, weapon support skills4.
I would say, train for your t2 small weapon skills and electronics/engineering at 5, then get into an assault frigate. From there train the support skills to 4/5(cap, tank, navigation and weapon support) then move on to hac. no idear how many SP that are, but should give you an idear on what to aim for. If you're going for amar ones I suppose you'll have to decide if you want to fly the missile ones or the laser ones. Could easely train for both, but cross-training missiles and turrets means it'll take a bit longer to get those support skills up.

i would prefer to do the pure turret based assault ships but the bass turd devs put all the med slots on the missile ones . the zealot is doable in terms of medium slots, but the retribution is ridiculous with only 1 flipping slot. so i'd be best serve to at least have decent missile skills but i guess i'll cross that bridge when i get there.

Most T2 setups are not viable unless you have the supports at least lvl5. Double goes for the Zealot/Sacri. -

11 mil...and as for your Q, its possible to bypass BS training. If i had to do it all over again, d probably not have trained for a BS until i had 15mil SP....just because i hate the huge ships. ________________________________ High Sec PvP

first chr i had was about 12m sp and i was all over the place with that chr so the long road to the laser road began.
2nd time around 7m sp and i was specced to hell and back for amarr only. made 7b isk in 3 weeks in the drone regions using only a sacrilege. -

44 mil. I waited until the prices came down and T2 producers no longer had me by the balls. There is plenty of other stuff to train to be good at.

i created a new hac pilot in june from scratch skilling it now but she's built to be a monster
i did learning skills for the first month and a bit now it's gunnery's which will be done in december . but my skill tree is longer than most because it's going to be 5'd out if i settled for basic's it would be a considerably shorter time but im patient

Edited by: Ciphero on 03/10/2007 23:14:15 SP Total means rather little - Dr. Caymus has >90m SP but sure as hell should not be getting in a HAC, as he says.
You should have Tech 2 weapons and tanking kit for the HAC and the two cap skills at at least level 4.
I'm assuming that you have Electronics 5 (Engineering 5 is a pre-req down the tree). |

It depends, i hated BS from the start and i wanted a command ship.
It took me roughly a year to reach command ships, once at CS all you need is the HAC book.
Anyhow like i said i lack the BS skills but i can fly both caldariand Gallente "CS.HAC.Recon". The only ship i would consider myself kinda lacking in, would be the caldari recon's but for the rest of em i kick a$$.

well then you were a newb in a Absolution then, sorry to say.
When i consider myself ship ready "trained to fly and equip" i make sure to have the ship skill to 4 and all relative equipment "T2".
Don't tell me you had all that at 13mil SP cause if you did i would of loved to kill you.

Edited by: Brutus Proqqus on 04/10/2007 06:37:10 i cant fly it yet but when i finish controlled bursts 5 ill train amarr Cruiser 5. After i trained the skill ill hit 11 mil SP.
I cant play with bs's because they're just to fat for my liking. Also i "accidently" trained medium pulse laser spec 5 so im pretty much obligated to go command ship/hac :P
I waited with training for cruiser 5 and all the other spaceship command skills until i could fit everything with tech 2. So i wouldnt find myself flying a ship with tech 1 stuff and totally suck ass in it :P
oh btw about the retribution post. Youll only be using it in small fast moving gangs and with the 4 turret slots and enuf lows for some multiple heatsink action it can actually deliver some nice dps. But ye for soloing its a no go :P

Actually not really, this chr was made just so it can fly an abso. I seen chrs of less sp in the same kind of ship taking short cuts. after all been playing since july 2004, i think i know how to spec a chr for one type of ship only.
ship was fully t2 fitted.
only fault of the chr at that time was all gunnery related skills were at lvl 4. now they are at lvl 5. that includes HPII and HB II weapons.
I did not deviate from my chrs chosen path, A specced chr can afford to be less sp if he or she is aiming for one ship.

I dont believe total skill points make much difference... what matters are the support skills.. I was soloing lvl 3s with my eagle because i had the necessary support skills... I am currently in a nighthawk, and that is the greatest ship i have ever flown. I am actually able to solo lvl 4 missions in that sucker, though i do always decline angel extravaganza and when worlds collide. I also have trouble with Guristas Extravaganza, though i am able to complete it every time. Just takes 5-6 hours and lots of warp outs.. Anyway, Im getting a little off topic, but i wish i had never trained Battleships ... it seems a waste of skill points to me... i cant stand those things...

Edited by: Chaplain Veritas on 04/10/2007 23:06:27 well i've got my learning skills at a decent spot so i'm working on getting my support skills up. already have t2 armor reps, t2 dmg control, t2 AB's (MWD is plain silly in my cap sucking beast, though i run 'em sometimes depending on the application) just 1 lvl of hull upgrades away from my t2 resist equipment, then working on t2 pulse lasers.
THEN, i hear some people prefer to run a pimped out Harbinger then a Zealot (i can see why, 7 turrets on a harbinger vs 4 on a zealot... PRICE... c'mon!)... . the Sacrilage (aside from being ugly as sin) is gonna require a big training sink to get my missiles up to an adequate level :(. BAH!
so right now i'm just gonna keep upping my skills to make the most of my Binger, and then get rocket skills up in prep for a vengance (can i assume in doing so i'll start getting myself ready for the bigger Khanid boats?). in what applications does the vengance shine? are they fair in gang PvP?
ps: sorry for rambling, sorry for my post crossing over from skills to ship/mod content.
