In any other thread that comment would have been the thread winner, right there. But this thread already has so many great moments, I just can't choose!

Battleclash.. stop being a tard.. Obviously you have no medical knowledge at all.
And btw.. Rabies is exterminated in Sweden.. And damn right I'd kill a dog without hesitation if it attacked me or my friends. It should have been on a lead in the first place.
Don't need a PhD to know what a stab wound does, especially when you have first hand knowledge.
And are you sure rabies is exterminated in sweden? I'd google that if I were you (hint hint wink wink). It's all but gone in many places but it is not dead.
I'm not saying it's a bad thing to kill an angry dog, I just find the way he did it rather amusing and a bit outlandlish . I'm shocked tht he didn't have to pay for a broken window or have the dog owner come after him in which case he could sue for damages. Could have made some money or pay for some medical bills as the dog had made contact according to the story.
Out of curiousity was this ever in the news?

Battleclash is right. Bleeding for 30 minutes is BAD. He should have clotted by then. There are three possible scenarios: 1) it was bleeding for 30 minutes but it wasn't that bad of a cut, in which case his brother probably has factor XIII hemophelia. 2) it shouldn't have been bleeding for 30 minutes, but he kept on checking to see if it had stopped and reopening the wound... so it did. 3) he meant to say that he applied pressure to the wound and kept it from bleeding for 30 minutes.
Unfortunately, I'm betting on 3. Either way, thanks to everyone for keeping this thread alive!

I never thought about option 3 but yes that would be understandable. First thing that crossed my mind was the hemophelia too.

I never said that I did or did not pay for the broken window. About the dogs owner, re-read my post. I never said that I have sued or not sued the dog owner.
Stop making assumptions? I explained the situation, not what happened before or after. nor did I write anything about the consiquences of this perticular situation.
And yes, it got a few lines in the newspaper "Aftonbladet", but its not like it got any big headlines or anything.

This. My exact words were "My brother gets into a fight with a couple of racists and he gets stabbed, I stop the blood from leaving his body in 30 minutes."
Isnt that the same thing as number 3?

NO. The way you phrase the line it sounds like it took you 30 minutes to stop the wound from bleeding which is just disgraceful first aid training.
Now if you had said I stopped the bleeding and held the wound for 30 minutes until the paramedics arroved (assuming they came at all) then that would be the same as #3.
But when you say 'I stop the blood from leaving his body in 30 minutes' the only thought that crosses my mind was that he was stabbed by Crocodile Dundee. Or you were soaking up the blood around him with a sponge and trying to ring it back into him.

The owner was nowhere to be seen and the dog did not have any tags. This tells me that you never came in contact with the owner who under most laws (as I don't know the laws of your land, but I'm sure I can google it) should be paying for damages that his dog did since he failed to properly restrain it.
And if the dog was as mean spirited as you say, which I can believe, then your friend would have been seriously hurt.
Tell me you stopped her bleeding faster than your brothers.

Holy crap, my english must be really bad if you got this wrong too
"The owner was nowhere to be seen and the dog didnt have any ID"
In other words: I dont know who the **** the owner was as we never did find out because the owner never showed up and because the fricking dog didnt have any ID tag or tatoo. Pretty ******* hard to sue someone then.
About the 30 minutes, I did meant to keep pressure to the wound.

It comes down to variables doesn't it. What kind of blade is used. How is it used. Where is the wound located and such. It is very possible to survive for hours given the right circumstances.
Originally by: Battleclash And are you sure rabies is exterminated in sweden? I'd google that if I were you (hint hint wink wink). It's all but gone in many places but it is not dead.[/qoute]
Yes, and since when is google a reliable source. Facts; Only two cases of Rabies have been reported in Sweden during the last 50+ years. The first was a photografer that came into contact with the decease when he got bitten by a dog in India 1974, the second was a young woman that treated a wounded puppy when visiting relatives in Thailand in Mars 2000.
The answer is, yes, Sweden is a Rabies free country.

Well here I agree with you but one have to use the tools available :) I'd guess he would have had to pay for the damages to the window but since I don't know I wont continue about it. Treatment is free in Sweden but the victim should have been able to get a bit of money out of the dog owner for pain and suffering.

I understood it the same way. Makk Azel needs to practice sentence construction on english a bit more, because many times he makes sentences that don't sound quite right .
