you have still to consider that phoon will have not same tank+gank of raven, he will have to chose between tank or gank (and phoon anyway have not much space to dualtank), also its range will be lower than the mega 15km vs 25+
5 or 6 missiles slots will imo be ok for the phoon and then change the gun bonus with something different... tp or speed will both be nice

If any changes were to be made on the phoon, it should be; Swapping armo/shield hp.. (4 mid's 7 lov's, and more shield than armor..? come on!) more powergrid.

Typhoon is the only tier 1 BS with 8 weapons, so stop with the stupid split weapon nonsense. A typhoon without ANY damage mod already makes quite good damage, and will do even more on Trinity. > 1000 DPS witha 7 Slot tank !!! Its a great ship.

atm phoon whitout ANY dmg mod reach just 750dps, a domi (tier1 too) reach 800
to say is the only T1 ships with 8 high doesn't make much sense too as is the dmg curve/dps that matters, if i have a hip that with 1 turret does 1k dps and another that with 10 turrets do 800dps is not that the 10 turret one is better because it have more guns.
domi have less turrets and put out more dps with more versatility and better tank/utility... and is T1 too...
all of this whitout starting to speak about the split weapon problem.
now the torp dps improvement will bring up the ship dps but the tradeoff will be to force it in web/close range, and with a ship with a so and so tank that should dictate range is quite a big drawback

The Phoon is a really decent ship as it is, swap the armor/shield HP and maybe ... maybe a little more grid. But it's far from a being a problem child.

And you need to learn the Typhoon has only 4 mid slots, thus no room for a target painter. If we want to add a second ship into the mix I can find a huge amount of combos that are a hell of a lot more powerful than Typhoon + ship with painter.

Sounds reasonable. But still why? Damage is not an issue in Typhoon. Its already getting a damage boost with the torpedo buff. Unlike raven its the fastest bs (bar faction) in the game, getting in torp range wont be an issue. Also unlike raven this can fit rest of the slots with guns that WILL get bonuses. And dont forget those ogre IIs. It take alot sp in missile, gunnery, drone and fitting skills to get the best out of phoon but when u have those skills this ship does quite well.
Dont get me wrong, i have both minmatar bs 5 and siege spec 4. I would love for ship to have 1 or 2 more launcher slot but thats not main problem with the phoon atm. It needs more pg to fit a proper tank. Its a 7 low slot ship which screams armor tank but has more shield hp then armor. These are the problem that need fixing first. Not more launchers or guns.
If your demands are not reasonable Devs will most probably ignore your thread / overlook this ship. Lets not let that happen.

There isnt? MWD, point, web, painter. Omg look at that its a target painter.
You dont need cap with an hp buffer setup, which the phoon can do exceedingly well(same as the mega actually), if you burst the mwd you wont need an injector.
Or you can field painter drones.
So in conclusion, you're an idiot.

Not to even mention that unlike Blasterthrons case Typhoons guns dont need cap to fire making it less fragile to neut/nos, additionally Typhoon has better max speed so its faster even with plates and trimarks, has smaller sig radius and also bigger dronebay* so it can carry some spare drones along with 5x Ogre II.
*someone correct me if this has changed in SiSi

Oh, and did I mention it's also far to fast and agile for a battleship. Its mass should be doubled and speed cut by 100m/s!
Maybe, just maybe, -if you're lucky- it'll be in balance then with the rest of the minmatar fleet. After all, us minmatar love the challenge of playing the game on hard difficulty level already

the typhoon is already a very good ship, but only skilled and good fighter pilot can fly it decently .
But use 4x425mm AC T2 + 4x arba torp launcher (And whith the patch who come..) MWD II, cap booster, web, warp disruptor (T2) Single LAR II, BCU II, gyro II and some resit 5xHeavy drone II
Powergrid rig x1, armor rep rig x2
And you have a cheap kick ass ship who can fly at 1500m/s and do a lot of DPS.
The typhoon is fun cause you find a lot of setup, i don't find its a good idea to change it, cause there are too many ship who got always the same fit. ...

What ship is the cheapest and least skill intensive I wonder?
not that your setup is bad by any means (just a bit expensive), but I see no reason to fly it even though I can over even a amarr ship of the same tier. (and you know me to be a bad amarr whiner )

Hehehe. Funny thing is most of our ships are so verging on apocrappiness that they are almost nerf proof. DPS nerf? never the best dps dealer. Tank nerf? Wait, we had tank? Speed nerf? Psh. Webbers-online.com and solo is pretty much dead already.

4 Siege II and 4 800mm II and 5 ogre II are 880 DPS without ANY damage mod. After the torp change will be > 1000 DPS.
you have troubles to fit 4 torps II and 4 800mm, usual config is with 425mm with that you get 750 dps, 650mm are viable too but even then you can't 800dps.
note that 800dps is quite a base dmg for a BS. a pest (to stay with minnie) can reach close to that whitout mods too, the domi (again T1 BS with a mid more than the phoon) is bit over 800
so to say that phoon can reach 750-800 dps whitout dmg mod is nothing exceptional, now with the boost that numbers will go up that is good for sure but will force the phoon to fight closer to the opponent and as said you have not going to have a monstrous tank...
5 missile slots and removal of proj bonuses in favor of a different one will not make it overpowered without any mod and will make it easier to upgrade for more gank oriented setups

Really now, the arma can switch damage with drones too, and with average skills the typhoon damage is so much lower compared to an arma that the damage type issue is a non-issue
Damn, you have me defending the greatness of Amarr here, damn you! Then again the arma is arguably the best Amarr ship there is.
And don't get me started on the dominix. The scorp is to specialised to join the comparisons.

After the torp change the phoon is gonna be deadly. The last thing it needs is pg for dual reps whoever said that.
If you want to use missiles, fly a raven. If you want to use turrets fly a tempest or mael. If you wanna keep on crying, do it somewhere else.

Yup, an arma going to do more dmg, but, the arma usualy don't fit a MWD and can't escape at 1500m/s, an arma neutralized going to do 0 DPS where the typhoon going to do max DPS, the typhoon got a lower signature, going to lock faster, and be more hard to jam. ...
