I have experienced client crashes after patch as well. The client was rock stable for me before the patch.

Aye... I have had my Windows client crash out a couple of times that way... fortunately, not while doing anything more dangerous than organizing the hangar rats === Q u o t e: If the servers aren't up, its not a hotfix. |

Does a crash dump get generated when this occurs? If so, can you please file a bugreport and attach it.
If one is not generated, can you please paste the error message here. (you can copy the content of a windows popup dialogue simply by hitting ctrl+c).

I got the error as well...
when "cluster shutdown is a short amount of time" message came up....
I was just outside a station... so I right-clicked station and chose -dock, to try to speed things up...
...then it the message popped up. when I acknowledged the first message -it appeared again.

Where would this crash dump file be located? I'll remember to make a screenie/copy of the error message next time.

Crashdumps should appear in C:\Documents and Settings\xx\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE, they have a name similar to : #crash b41736 2007.11.06 17.44.29.dmp

Edited by: Skurnick on 07/11/2007 21:33:38 This is what happens: The client will act as it does when the server crashes, ie. wallet balance will not show, loot on wrecks will not open/copy. The client then quits back to the login screen, with "Connection Lost". A message from the client about an error that should require a re-start of the client appears. The C++ error message pops up underneath.
No dump file, but this is the error message:
Quote: --------------------------- Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library --------------------------- Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\ExeFile.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.

I just started a 14-day trial. I'm on a 20 inch Imac, 2 gig memory, 240mb ati graphics. Eve world is gorgeous. I've had the same c++ error three times and had to reboot in order to stop lossing connection. I thought if was a macintosh issue, but apparently not. Hope ccp takes care of it because so far I'm enjoying myself very much. Error message flashes on screen and promptly disappears. Hard to read all of it. Glad to be aboard; hope to stay permanently.

I just received this error when closing in window mode... Didn't have log server running and like everyone else no dump file generated... Here is the detailed error info from windows though:
Error signature AppName: exefile.exe AppVer 3.21.0.35601 ModName: python25.dll ModVer: 2.5.1150.1013 Offset: 0005b429
There was more but there was no way to easily copy the debug data.

I've played Eve for about one year now.
I'v never ever had a single 'crash' while playing until this patch.
Since the patch I've had 6 'crashes'. Same error message as people posted above.
Once it happen when I clicked to enter warp (was not AFK - had just flown there).
Another time I was AFK in a station for 5mins. Normally this would 'disconnect' me due to a timeout - but instead it crashed.
Cant remember the other crashes - but you get the idea. I'll post here if (when) I get another one.

I see this each time I lose network connection. Nothing is logged in the Windows event log and after a few seconds the popup message goes away. It doesn't happen if I cleanly shut down eve.
From my history.txt in C:\Users\<me>\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE I'm getting things logged like:
2007.11.08 07:08:56SHUTDOWN [5492]Crashed 0xC0000005, minidump written in C:\Users\<me>\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\#crash b41736 2007.11.08 07.08.55.dmp I'm on Vista.
0xC0000005 is a permissions error typically in Windows.
Bug report submitted with dump file attached.

Edited by: Davik Rendar on 09/11/2007 23:58:21 Same thing here, crashing to desktop with a c++ error screen up for a couple of seconds. It's disconnected me a few times today, not every time was with the c++ error. But the times that it did have a c++ error, it didn't leave a dump file.
I'm running Vista Home Premium 32bit
please fix this soon ccp, we've just been war dec'd and it's a real pain being disconnected every 10 minutes
