Since this reversal was not expected (at least by me) for at least a few more weeks, I would be most interested in the views of other Eve-ites on who they think will win and why.
IMHO I would expect MOO to sweep the skies of the CA PVPers in less than 2 weeks, as while CA has enormous resources (come on down RUS), they do not have the numbers of experienced PVPs nor the advanced coordination to deal with the quality and coordination of the MOO PVPers.
I would also expect to see a migration of a number of the larger CA corps as a result of these losses and that these Corps would then leave or be pushed out of Curselandia by MOO (or other CA members in an effort to stop the bleeding).
I would sincerly hope that the SA and Evolution stay out of this fight as it would be more honourable for MOO to accomplish this "education" by themselves than give the CA an excuse by saying they were beset upon by a group of alliances.
Best of luck to the multi-stomached carnivorous bovines in their education of the CA (and especially the RUS).
cheers
and the Drambuie and Guinness are on me.

(SPEAKING FOR MYSELF HERE. THIS IS NOT THE OFFICAL m0o STANCE)
I have friends in CA and have fought alongside them on numerous occasions and I would like to point out that to the best of my knollage there is no m0o member with any ill feeling towards CA.
This fight is plain and simply for fun. I like to PvP and other than CA there is no Alliance that can withstand an all out assalt by us. So I fairly sure thats why we want to fight them.
I know that I will be able to speak with my pals in CA joke with them and take the p1ss all in the name of good fun. Which lets be honest is what a "game" is all about. Dont get me wrong I want to win (and we will) but more importantly it will be a good fight.
Unfortunatley the tone has already been lowered by various ppl talking smack already (notably not by m0o or the core members of CA). This I feel is regretable as I know it is not what m0o wanted.
m0o will win thru use of superior PvP experiance pure and simple (pls dont forget we have fought alongside CA a lot). TBH I cant wait.
Lets have a good fight and try to be grown up about it.

RUS = wtf pwned by Stain (Do you remember the RUS-Stain war? Yeah I thought so)
Taken from the May 29th 2003 Devchat at EveGate . <Muaddid> Q: When will sentry gun and station and similar construction pods be introduced on the market? <Hellmar> we have various player owned entities already implemented. Sentry guns, power/shield generators, field repair mini-stations, mobile refineries. We are still working out the last tidbits of how they can be over taken, what is the penalty of having a sentry gun kill a n00b etc. and we have been a bit busy with plugging the holes that people have found.I would say that you'd start to see these items on the market in about 2-3 weeks, very expensive to begin with |

I'm sure m0o will inflict a lot of damage on CA, but I don't think CA can lose. They have so many good fighters down in CA. Even if the alliance has become somewhat bloated recently, at its core are a lot of good fighters. And with FE now joined with them I don't see how m0o can win.
CA might lose more ships than m0o, but they have more to lose.

Edited by: KIAPieman on 03/03/2004 23:12:16 the question shouldnt be who will win, it should be how do you define victory? mo0 can declare victory in many ways:
1: stopping the CA from functioning (mining, chanining etc) 2: Killing ships in numbers so large even they cannot replace them in time. 3: de-moralising the CA to the extent that they fracture into smaller bands or into individual corps. 4: forcing them to move to empire to be able to function.
the CA can win by: 1: stopping mo0 from entering CA space in the 1st place. 2: not engaging them, or giving them easy kills (lone travellers etc) and making it not profitable 3: or the simple option (well the simplest to say) killing them.
to be honmest in both cases i believe that option 1 will be taken by both sides. so i believe that there will be no clear "victor" in this war. unless someone makes a ****up of epic proportions.
thats my opinion anyways --------------------------------------------------------

Or more likely, the choke point for CA to get to empire....only 3 ways into empire...I'm sure there will be cow patties on all three systems before long...

Well... I have had a blast the last week or so chasing and being chased by RUS. I have also been chased around Catch by cOw and other CA corps.
I have no ill feelings towards anyone... in fact, they are a damn bunch of nice guys. There is no doubt that M0o / Evol and CA will have some awesome battles. I truly look forward to seeing the videos.
I can also expect to be caught between fire in that region and will take my losses like a man.
Good hunting CA, M0o and Evol...

If i count the ammount of ship that we have inbound then it's probably smarter for the sake of whole eve to not fight at all.
The estimate currently is a fleet of around 100-150 enemies, add up 100-150 we can get = like the amarr cerimony event but then 100 people more in 1 system. Remember what happend during the amarr system? Well ill refresh your memory: The server collapsed and chocked and the event was continued in an IRC channel, and this was in a HIGHWAY system where the node has way more strength than a 0.0 system has. Since CCP and we cannot forsee where were going to fight, it will be impossible to boost the system that will be the battleground enough up to carry that many users so the end conclusion is:
Loads of people looking at frozen screens, huge lag, and maybe a nice smokesignal i can spot all the way up from UK. __________________________

Neither will "win".
Neither can "win".
But both may have some fun... which is the point.

Due to the current game mechanics I don't think either side can "win" definitively. But having dealt firsthand with both Mo0 and the CA in conflicts, I gotta lean towards Mo0. Its a battle of quality versus quantity. CA will lose much more than Mo0 in this conflict no doubt.

CA won't know what hit them.
They aren't fighting m0o just alone but also the other wars on several fronts. You're mighty industry will be crippeled for as long the war will last. That will choke the warmachine. Just a matter of time. ___________________________ Favorite bumpersticker of the month: My head hurts! |

I suggest you destroy industrials then. Cause it seems the normal lootdrop from CA ships are:
Industrials: 147k mega, 115k zyd and 6k morph.
while battleships: 54k mega.
That suggest the loot drop tables are b0rked though, so CCP may fix it soon(tm). Until then: kill industrials for best profit.

tbh i cannot see anyone winning this due to all the lag. moo will fight with there usual 15+ BS's, evol will come along with there fleet, and well ca will as usuall go completley overboard and come out with 80+ BS's and totally lag the place up

i suspect what will happen is ca's enemys may cut some of the waste in ca corps but as for winning unless ca wtfpwns m0o and evol on their front door then neither can win
some alliance leaches will be driven off some will stay (you know the guy trying to sell an inplant while you are under attack)the pvp corps will have fun and minners will cry
m0o and evol will move on
maybe or maybe ca will split with one side supported by the current ca enemys causing an even greater wtfpwn happening to the other sides minners and even greater fun for the pvp corps
ahh content player made is always the best

CA have enormous resources, i was scouting their mining fields this week, was amazed when i saw huge amounts of arkanor just 4 jumps from base. but they resources cant last forever, whit the adjustments of NPC spawns this last patch they wont be able to mine in the same speed they used to,
currently they got war on all sides, we in CFS are doing smal geurilla raids into curse, SA strikes them from south, celestial apocalypse makes regular attacks and they got EVOL on their necks, and if moo strikes them aswell i wonder how much longer they can hold out.
smart by moo to strike against CA, they drop the best loot in the game

lol its funny to see all the little Stain nubs jump for joy over this news.
'Ooooh we are getting pwned daily ....we need bigger boys to save us' 'Yay here comes m0o (a corp who have hated and fought us for months) to fight CA, go m0o we wub you'
News flash, this is break from your pwnage and possibly a needed culling of CA but it will business as usual before you can even say 'log out at jump in'
So HMV consider Andy Williams and Dean Martin to be "easy listening" do they? Tell that to my mate Dave, he's been deaf for 20 years.
