[1] As a protest to CCP and their comment to me about some undocumented changes they made that have cost me millions in invested stuff (we've all had it happen to us.. this has been the 3rd time for me.. so i'm mad), i'm proposing we have the Big Logoff... set a date and time for everybody in the EVE community to log off and watch the server count hit 0 as a protest to the crap CCP loves to pull on all of us. As stated by a GM who shall go nameless: We reserve the right to change anything at any time, without warning or compensation. (Read: We reserve the right to f*** over the player base without any consequence to our programmers that can't documents changes for s***). So I propose we make a change and all stop playing, and see how they react to no compensation for their work maintaining game and servers. Any suggestions on time and date so we can get this massive event underway? ------------------------- I don't have a signature. |

[3] tbh I think its a bit harsh, but then, ive not had many problems with EVE. And for the most part, neither has alot of people. Take the "Yulai incident" everyone affected by it got their stuff back, and Zombie inc got their ban. Fair is fair. Maybe you'll get enough players on your side to slightly dint the server count, but as for leveling it, you have no chance. Now excuse me while I get back to playing EVE Signed, one very satisfied EVE player |

[5] Good idea, all the whiners log off, to save server resources for those who don't have anything to complain about. |

[9] Don't get me wrong, i LOVE EVE.. otherwise i'd have quit long ago... in fact.. the only thing i really hate is the little things the game leaves out (and has left out for very long periods of times)... and the insensitivity of GMs. The only reason you got to see those exploiters put in their place, and people reimbursed, was because it was well known to the entire player base. I can think a few times exploiters got me and my corpmates, and we were given the shaft by the GMs, and the cheaters are still roaming free. And to clarify: its not whining if its overwhelmingly justified that you've been cheated. Obviously you don't play the game to such a degree as others to say you've never had anything go wrong for you. ------------------------- I don't have a signature. |

[11] I am sorry but i will not join a big log off. I lost millions when they removed zyd/mega from Tech II Ram/Rdb/Components etc. I bought mega/zyd when the prices where at their highest. I made 1000's of missiles just before they made them cheaper. But despite all this I still make lots of ISK and have a good time doing so. Maybe next time they change something I will make a few ISK, maybe I lose a bit. CCP say that game play can change with patches, and the game is so much better now that a few months agoo. I will sacrifce some ISK for better game play, I think your protest is doomed to fail. |

[13] Edited by: s4mp3r0r on 06/03/2004 11:23:35 Serpent, I'll join you. Why ? Not because EVE is a crappy game or I've been shafted by GM's but because I want to remind them who is important here. It's about the players, not them making cash. I also have had enuf of "hidden features" in patches for one thing. Bjorn Borg : Underwear is futile ! |

...No its not! Do you honestly think that CCP made this game to entertain you in the evenings? Face facts, do you work in your office or whatever the hell you do to make your boss or clients happy? NO! You do it to get money! Simple as that. I respect CCP for what they have done here. They have made an absolutly exellent game here and could of just left it at version 9xx. But we give them money every month for In-depth story lines, customer support (no matter how bad you think it is, it is still better than nothing, and a lot of them are volunteers), new in-game technology and better perfomance. Thank you CCP |

[21] I would participate just to show them they cant just ignore people and get away with it 100% of the time. Ive been screwed many times to bugs in eve. And when castor came in eve wouldnt even run on my computer for 4 days. I have sent 4 emails to their customer service email. And never once have i gotten a reply to help resolve my situation. I have lost many ships due to bugs, all of them were denied by petitions. They say they dont have logs to prove stuff is really blown up. How did they prove the 100+ ships and items lost in yulai other day? I get evemails saying i was destroyed by "Eve System" in a .8 sec system. No replacement for crap. Seriously their customer ignorment service really ****ess me off! |

[27] Stuff like the Yulai thing ****es me off. People find a way to circumvent getting shot down by Concord. They show that CCP hasn't made Concord strong enough to handle stuff. This is THEIR fault, not the people killing people and surviving Concord. I like the idea of people being able to join Concord to help stuff like this. Now they ban Zombie corp because they used this so called "exploit". It's not their fault game mechanics are screwed like that. I understand that is bad that newbies get shot in Yulai but come on. Newbies are already protected too much with the new 40% insurance. PS : if they got a warning not to do it during their action or before, i agree with the banning. Omg you turn everything upside down. You name Zombie Inc. the victim of flawed game mechanics. The Yulai incident is not a good example of CCP being a bad software company. Look how they compensated for losses and took action to prevent such exploit from happening again. All software has bugs, so exploits can be expected. Zombie Inc., who exploited the flawed game mechanic got what they deserved. They did it with the knowledge of exploiting and they knew they were cheating. No mercy for people who do that. Your reasoning can be compared with persons who rob a store and then say it wasn't their fault, because the lock was weak. All software has bugs, unfortunately EvE has alot of bugs. This is something I would indeed complain about and I certainly hope CCP will improve their reputation by making EvE alot more stable. -------- Ontopic: I agree with the topicstarter on the issue that it is very annoying if CCP does not document all changes. However I think your protest action will not have many supporters ;) |
