That teal color on the Megathron makes it look like a ship for sissies and we can't have that. And the Ishtar don't look that great either. Neither does the Domi. I liked the Domi with the colors it had before.

As I said originaly, I counted one thread, this one. I counted specifics so those that were aye and nay didnt go on either and were ignored as they cancel each other out.
As for the whole 147 of 200k votes, I agree totaly! Doesn't say much for the paltry 18 votes either though does it :)
I personaly like the new cyan yet on the Hype it looks washed out. I do not however have an issue with the colour as to me it fits perfectly well with my race image.
People can re-count, ignore, do what they want with what I wrote but the simple truth is that on this thread the nays won despite the bashing they got from the op and some alt type character who has since gone round all the threads posting trivia on them.
As some have already said, this is CCPs game and through the backhistory of all the races the plot has changed more than once and will do so again at some point in order to take new tech and new stories. Maybe at that point the Galentte will turn into slaver overlords and we get red and gold ships.. although I bloody hope not. Until then, teal it is, or blue, depending highly on the light, which is cool.

So what is the truth? Show me, prove me wrong, prove your camp right. The OP at least stands behind some version of his Galentte history but so far all I have heard is how "all players" hate this new colour and anyone that does like it is wrong purely because they "just like it" as opposed to "it just ain't Galentte man!"
In this post alone, and I already stated that I based my facts upon this sole thread... the nays have it. Whats untrue about that? Show me the lie.

Neither you nor I have it. It would take something like in game polling of everyone who's spent a good percentage of their playing time in a Gal T1 ship during some time period to get the "truth", and nobody is going to get that done. If you despite this still want something, I offered nine (or however many they really are) threads against, to one thread for. But that's as meaningless as counting the aye's/nay's in this thread.
But do look at the linked pics in my previous post, and tell me you still think the unmodified screenie, best screenie out of all Domi screenies in any of these threads, tell me it shows more promise then all the modified ideas (not screenies, modified pics to give ideas, not to be compared directly. I write this parenthesis not so much for you Maestro, but for others reading this.)

I'm disapointed with the new color from what I've seen, and really liked the current green hue Gallente ships sport. The flat baby blue is just too garish and doesn't fit the Gallente or Eve theme IMO.
I'm hoping a dev can explain if the current test clients aren't displaying it correctly, if the blue was less obvious with more shine or translucent metal reflection it wouldn't be half ass bad, but still not as good as the alternatives. |

The reasons why I added "Aye or Nay" is merely a cosmetic form of expressing a feeling for this issue, while the real stances are reflected by well formed reasoning behind the why or why not for the baby blue colors. If you look at all the Nay, you can see that they are all unstructured "eh I like them, so what" kind of thought patterns while the Aye folks uses sound reasons all over, in this thread and all over the board, on the why it should change. Not once did anyone in the Nay side were successful in countering the reasonings behind the need to change the colors.
You are free to keep your thoughts and views narrow into this thread only and not look it from all sides like I have.
With that, I will leave you to whatever it is you do.

It's pretty simple. People expect Gallente ships to look a certain way, and have always complained about how crappy the domi in particular looks. IMO, there's two main colors that gall ships have...a deep green (celestis) and a pewter silver (megathron). I don't care about shiny surfaces making the ship look like absolute crap, that's a whole other issue. But frankly, this is what people expect gallente ships to look like taken from CCP's own Trinity trailer. Again, I don't care about the argument that it's a dark system influencing that particular image, people still expect the dark demon green that has ultimately always represented gallente. Now I'm all for change (believe me, I think that 90% of the ship designs in eve are the most ******** things I've ever seen, but that's another story), but at least make a change that makes sense. The new colors of washed out silver and pastel blue are CLEARLY hated more than they are even liked, let alone loved. Nerfing gallente ships to crap is one thing, but now having their design done by a color blind ****** is just rubbing salt in the wound on your playerbase at this point. I can't believe CCP sat there for *four years* and never once said 'you know, maybe this isn't the best choice'. Fifty man years to do? I don't think so. =P

Although the new models are well put together and look alright.
I have always looked at these wallpapers to to get a feel for each race and its theme color.
Gallente feel
The Gallente theme has always struck me as being dark Gray/gun metal and green windowed. I though those colors set a great mood for Gallente. i feel sad that eve has lost this feel because this is what first caught my eye and attracted me to it. I wish we could at least keep and new revised green theme for some of the new models..... (Deimos is gorgeous )

Would have preferred a darker blue. Always had my color schemes in homeworld either dark blue/black band... or red and black or etc etc.... DARK colors pleeeease. Caldari got nice colors it seems (zomg crow).

Yet it's ironic that the Dev's didn't look at the wallpaper they set up a while ago as a gauge for the colors they could put onto the Gallente ships. Out of all possible blue colors, they picked baby blue...

I've always wondered why CCP uses such lousy colors on their ships. Between the poor variety of colors and the fact that new ships are based on the existing models, I've got to believe that CCP has NO design department at all.
I mean, come on! You release new ships, and they're all going to look EXACTLY like the existing ships? WTF is that? Pure laziness in my opinion.

I seems to me that alot of caldari chars seem to think alike...
I guess my buddy was right...a Toon is just an extension to the player controling it.
BTW Mr. K. FukFloyd, "We" Minmatars are pretty satified with our ship designs.
They look fierce unlike the Matel "barbie" toys gallente ships, and they don't look like the metalic *****es that "You" fly aorund in.

And yes i do fly gallente and i think the new colours gives gallente a new feel to them, but still the same gheyllente fire!
