Amarr ships should not be brown. You know what I am talking about. Nearly everything else is about them is great. They look "armored" with the plating over the black sections. They have great details. The Absolution and the Paladin could use a little less red, but its not a big deal, and the Crusader might use a bit more. The Redeemer, and Zealot are hot, hot, hot hot, hot. Really hot. The 8th turret hardpoint on the Armageddon model is making me speculate all over my pants.
But Amarr ships should not be brown. Gold is not brown. Amarr ships are gold.
Please CCP, tweak the colors of the Amarr ships so they are gold and not brown. Then they will be perfect.

They look mainly yellow to me...
Geddon looks a lil...funky, think it's due to the front and the fact it's now yellow and not actual golden.
<3 the lil swirly symbols on the crucifier hulls and that vengence(didn't see if they were on anything else yet)

Nope, DX8 wackiness wont make the ships brown instead of gold, they will make them less shiney and less shaderey*, but it wont make them brown instead of gold.
*Yes, that is the word i wanted to use

To be honest, from what I've seen, they look like a dirty rusty bronze color, which is not brown, but then again not quite gold. ---

Edited by: Goumindong on 28/11/2007 04:06:46 Tan is a type of brown, i havent seen them looking "rusty bronze" unless you are talking about the current colors on sisi, which might be that, but is in fact gold.

you do notice that the geddon's ina dark system, and you can see the reflection of the blue and such from the system, right?
I think the problem now is the ships take traits from their surroundings, the systems and such, more so than they used to, so that plays a major part in what the ship will look like. In other words, like they said, the ships are more reflective in places to show the materials in which they're made from.
Also when you think about gold, is there honestly that much gold in the galaxy to slap it on a ships surface? There's like 2-3 panals atleast on most amarr ships that are actually gold. You have to take scale into thought aswell, how much gold would say a whole rev take?

Thing is, they look like that in station, which SHOULD have neutral colors, as they are form artificial lights in the docking bay. They STILL look like a tan color, and not a gold color.

Actually, there's an apocalypse screen somewhere, too many of them floating around now ): but it's in a green station and you can detect a hint of green reflecting off the gold on the top. which makes me wonder WHY IS THE ZEALOT GREEN D:

Zealots t2 color is green. This is fine and good.
Here is a picture of the Omen.
Notice the trim. There are two colors, a silver trim, and a gold trim.
Omen
The Amarr ships should be the gold trim colour, and if they need trim, it should be that cool silver, or the light tan. Then the "undercarrage" would be black to represent the "unarmored" sections.

I like the new colors more.
Gold is too gawdy and ugly and hard to look at. One example is the new retribution... it's just too much, it looks too fake. It's over the top. It still looks GOOD, I just like it less than say, the colors on the bestower.

That is just your overactive imagination. The "lots of red" isnt a huge issue, its a t2 color scheme. A little less would be preferable, but eh, not worth worrying over.

Oh yes its VERY worrying to someone who flies mostly absolution from amarr t2 ships. I actally liked "fat tribal warpaint pigeon". Now its "fat -i had a period- pigeon".

Maybe you are seeing something I'm not. I haven't seen this 8th turret hardpoint on the Geddon you speak of. Then again, I haven't seen any pics of it from top or bottom, so I've prolly just missed it. If it's getting an 8th turret.... *twitch* glee!
But I have to agree with the colors a bit. They look a bit more like a dusty yellow than the gold that is evidently possible in that pic of the Omen. ______________ Eloquence belongs to the conqueror.

Count the number of hardpoints on the model. 5 on the side, 3 on the top ridge. Its not getting an 8th turret.

The Armageddon does NOT have 8 turret mounts. They (ccp) just missplaced the 7th turret so that the 7th mount stays visible empty if fully fittet. This is just lazyness on ccp's part, not a "omg 8th turret soon" conspiracy.

Hey, the empire doesn't have that much gold to spare anymore.
With the EMP-eror gone, and no new EMPress on the way, we just can't spare so much resources on our "fleet".
And the old ships are just so worn out.
Quite fits the story if you ask me.
