I'm running a Asus Z81SP with a Geforce GO 6800 card. Have to say I am having terrible results as I have had to fix my boot.ini file... now that I have done this all my new models are black and white. I can undock and the background and UI are ok, but everything that has been changed or updated (ship models, docking background) are all black and white.
By black and white, I mean someone has taken the contrast on Adobe photoshop and turned it all the way up. Things look like a photocopy. My card should run this expansion just fine, but so far it hasn't. I might try and delete the client and download the stand alone premium version if no one has any comments.

AMD FX2 6000 with XP 8600 GT 512 4GB of DDR2 800 RAM
I seem to be running 2 premium clients without a lot of problems. What annoys me though is that there seems to be a small graphical glitch when hovering from one clickable object to another. EG when hovering the cursor over the high slots there seems to be a little delay from one to another.
Same goes for agent statements, hangar items...
In space it behaves as normal, spins fast enough etc though framerate seems to be avg 10 lower as it was.
Mem usage has skyrocketed though, I see 450mb/client while the classic/old only used 250 max.
All in all I think it was a mighty fine job with the update itself. The issue with the boot.ini is really unacceptable though. I closed down yesterday as normal, am at work now and just read the issue. My wife at home depends on the 'puter for her work today... so someone will be 1) ****ed off and 2) impacted in rl.
Apologies won't cut it this time. I don't care that a patch doesn't run smooth the first weeks... that are growing pains. This however is something of another level.

Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E6750 4095 MB Ram Asus nVidia GeForce 8800 GTX All these precious goodies on the Asus P5K Deluxe Vista Home Premium x64 running on it. The STATS: I get an average of 100 FPS outside station in 0.0 with 10 mates on the undocking ramp as well with the following settings: Shadows: High (Extreme is silly, as I think Mindstar already said on SiSi) HDR - Bloom: High as well And because I try exploring the edges: AF x8 and AA x8 So CCP: I love you, and thank you for making this engine, and ofc updating the models.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I want to be absolutely certain: Is the NVIDIA GeForce 7950 the same as NVIDIA GeForce Go 7950 GTX (should be a 512mb card)? Thanks

Originally by: Kuger Hello, umm im getting a new computer and its going to be cheap, well the video card that comes with it is a ATI RADEON« Xpress1150 256MB HyperMemory i was wondering if Shader Model 3 will work with that?
No, sorry.
Its Dx9b (not Dx9c) and its shader model 2, not 3.

If you want SM3 support, you might wanna get yourself a cheap Radeon HD 2900 Pro or a HD 3850 why not. They're both around ú100 UK.
If thats still not in your budget, you can get a Geforce 8600 GT for around ú65 UK, or even an 8500 GT for around ú45 UK.
Originally by: Kasak Black Anyone have any experiance with Trinity on a laptop yet? I'd love to find out how some of the Mobile GPU's preform. X1600's and 8500 GT's for example.
Just installing the upgraded client on my desktop X1600XT chip at the moment. I'm going to be turning shadows totally off if I can as that's personal preference, but hell, I can play Crysis on medium at 1680x1050 so I'm expecting Eve to perform about the same as it always has having read this thread so far...
Originally by: yavhe My GeCube Radeon 9200 seems to not support it either...
I'll wait for an answer on how to fix it
Originally by: Maren Kirsan I'm using a "MOBILITY RADEON 9200" with the latest drivers on my laptop and i'm not able to launch EVE anymore. Feel free to keep me updated with what I could do to fix this.
- Maren.

These are SM2.0 parts so if you've put Premium content on you'll have to go back to the Classic content.

Aside from the fact it has slower ram / core speeds it should still support SM3.0 etc. In short I would expect you to get good performance but my premium content is still downloading :p

Getting around 30 fps at a busy gate, no lag / tearing etc. Around 45 to 70 in warp / quieter areas.
Curiously enough I was getting around the same on the old engine ... very odd ;)
Edit: I should add, it looks verrrry pretty.

Hey there is still the classic client that is working for Linux. Stop moaning, premium content is not necessary to play the game.
And because the premium content is not available at the moment for Linux doesn't mean it won't be forever.

Thats fine but they should have a release date if they say they are officially supporting us Linux users.

Been running trinity fine since it came up on sisi. In fact, I simply removed the sisi info from the shortcut and use the same client to now connect to tranq, which seems to have somehow slipped me around the boot.ini issue.

How well can I run Premium with a setup like this? Will upgrade my computer the 26th of december...
Setup 1: AMD Athlon x2 4000+ 2,1Ghz 2GB RAM x1650XT 256mb some crap motherboard.
OR I might get this depending on if my partner agrees to support me on it ( promised we will save money for something she wanna do then so still considering ) :
Setup 2: AMD Athlon x2 4000+ 2,1GHz ( Phenom later this year ) 2GB RAM HD3850 256mb / 3870 512mb MSI K9A2 Platinum
How can I run trinity with setup 1/2? Will I have a big performance difference with a 3870 compared to 3850, thinking of the memory as I play in 1280 x 1024?
as of now I can't run classic since the patch. Sure I can but not enjoyable due to lagging. Changed from 1280 x 1024 to 1024 x 768 and then it almost worked but still alot of lag and I can't play it because of that... :(
AMD Barton 3000+ 1GB RAM Ti 4200 x8 ASUS A7V600+
before it was flowing good with this setup at 1280 x 1024 at low settings ( 16-bit ) but not anymore :( and I wasn't affected by the boot.ini either.
So anyway at the end of this month I can atleast play this game on classic again hopefully premium...

I was wondering if a Dell Inspiron with a 128MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS, 2gb or ram and a high end processor would be able to run Trinity without too many problems.

With HDR on high and Shadows on Extreme, i get 26-28 fps in station and 10-40 outside, depending on traffic. It doesnt feel very smooth but it works under pressure with max options. Currently using HDR off and Shadows on normal for a much smoother 60-80 fps in station (i dont need the nber bright light effects anyway)
I didnt use the Shader Checker, in-game it said i can download the patch so i did. Doubt the tool works correctly if it doesnt recognise a 8800 :P

I got the same laptop as you it seems , xcept for the memory and OS. I've got 2GB memory and run everything at 1440 x 900. But thats all besides the point. Just before starting the update for EvE I updated my driver of the GFX card, didn't have any problems with running it. Before I did that however and checked out the client on sisi I had the same problems.
So prolly update your driver and your all set again.
I can run 2 clients at my laptop all settings to high, with litle problems btw
Hope it helps.

Shortly: Intel P4 - 3.0GHz 2X512 Kingston RAM Nvidia 6600 I got like 30 fps in station and like the same amount in space when other objects are near. When I warp my fps goes to 50-60.
Well, I personally understand I lack RAM and graphic card so stuck to the new client but switched to the old graphics as there is such option.
