Seen far too many friends from uni brought down like this, find a nice man or woman and after the dust has settled for long enough to make a claim, they demand their 50% and off they go. I'd also like to say that its a pretty 50/50 split on male and female gold diggers on this. I love my mrs and she likewise loves me and we've been together since before my good fortune and both of us are very level headed. But in many cases when dealing with huge figures that could be yours, its a hell of a temptation knowing you could be set for life for doing practically nothing. One can get the entire amount immediately but must hand over almost exactly half as tax. Or, one can take it in a series of 20 year payouts paying around a quarter of it for taxes. Read somewhere years ago that the subconscious works like a video recorder. So when youre snoozing it can tap into the language centre which work 100% of the time, just retrieval is shoddy.
