I finished reading Ender's Game this weekend. I'd been meaning to get to it for a while, but I'd been sucked into so many other, more recent, books.
Was the movie close to the book or did Hollywood push the story over a barrel like they like to do so often? |

I feel sorry for Hugo Weaving. My gosh, he had to play all the bad guys (and nurses) in the film, which meant playing about 8 bad guys all at the same time ! Wow. "No formal numbers have been released, but the Atlanta Journal-Constitution says that of the $672 million projected for the Cobb County stadium, $450 million will be public money. Where's that coming from, in a cash-strapped county that's cutting teaching jobs and requiring unpaid furloughs for all school employees?
"Taxes, of course. But since the deal is going straight to the Cobb County Commission for a vote on Nov. 26, we know it'll be a hike in existing taxes. Any new tax would require a voter referendum, so by bypassing that, local officials make sure that Cobb County residents won't get a say on funding their shiny new ballpark."
And this from a firmly held Republican territory, people who supposedly do not believe in raising taxes for anything.
Freakin' hypocrits.

Some animated things like the log in screen(s) pre-launcher. It would be nice touch and CCP could even change it to match the expansion...again like the old log in screen(s).

Played the first game, haven't gotten around to playing "Last Light" yet. Honestly I did not even know there was a Metro 2033 book out...I may have to pick it up.

I've read both of the books and waiting for the third to be published The first book is just brilliant and the second is not as good as the first one but good anyways.
The story of the first book (2033) versus the game is slightly different (Game need way more action to stay interesting) and the second books (2034) and the game stories are completely different |

Watching a show about JFK (which is going to be fair unavoidable on this 50th Anniversary).
Reminded that I had forgotten that President Jimmy carter, though Democrat, was a fundamentalist Southern Baptist, and most indeed.
And how could I forget that ? Because he never, ever, not once did he ever, drag his religion into his office or into politics in any way.
Unlike the ill-educated idiots today who are masquerading as politicians to advance their religious beliefs and so proudly proclaiming as much. It's a very very dangerous situation now, really it is.
GÇ£When religion and politics travel in the same cart, the riders believe nothing can stand in their way. Their movements become headlong - faster and faster and faster. They put aside all thoughts of obstacles and forget the precipice does not show itself to the man in a blind rush until it's to late." I'm noticing random standings icons for people on the forums. I'll see a neutral, good, excellent icon for people that are on and not on my contacts list.
Example: Previous time to this thread, Alice was shown with no standing icon. Now, neutral. Earlier, good. I've gone to other threads and found people that should be in excellent standing with me only to show no standing icon at all.
Why is this? |
