I think Webby said he's taking a break, not quitting completely as such. If that's the case then it comes as no surprise to me - seems that this "summer lull" everyone has been speaking of is a very real thing lol
Tons of people (lots in our corp alone) in various timezones seem to either a) Burn out a little on EVE or b) Find RL/summer distractions more important and go away for an extended break at around this time of year. I know I've done exactly that in some years past.

You already got the shitposting down to an art, so long as you can scan well and can show a history of being a reasonable fighter then you'd probably fit in nicely at Rolled Out.
Sad to read in anycase. You enjoy your time away mate, and hopefully come back sometime when the space hunger grabs you again. G˙á Part-time wormhole pirate | GÖí Full-time super model WH Blog | #420roloswag | Bio |

Yeah, I don't log into the game much anymore either. In fact, it's rare now but I will still keep my account subbed and active. Sure I'm basically playing Skill Queue Online now but hey, at least my character is still advancing and more importantly, can jump into the game at any time to run some Epic Arcs, do some exploration, hopefully get lucky and find some Deadspace / Faction loot, etc.
As for trolls, guess that depends on the eye of the beholder.
Anyway, good luck to you and once again, think twice about un-subbing.
DMC
well... I'm... just taking a break..., man, hehehe , not tears needed shed or anything (i.e. stuffs), not quitting just nots around (even didn't sell off my T3 fleet). But YEAHHHH people would love to hear that, ragequit stuffs if I have ttime... (off to Big Bear tomorrow)
p.s. I play about 2hrs a day, since graphical mmo's like 1997. I could have earned a doctorate Try adding that up

Sad to read in anycase. You enjoy your time away mate, and hopefully come back sometime when the space hunger grabs you again. Yeah it's pretty normal. People kind of do other things during summer. I usually play even MOAR mmo, but not this year, just too much stuff to deal with. And when I'm not dealing with that, I'm taking my video cam out on rides before I depart this land and go to the great white north (of the US). SoCal has been pretty cool, man. Going to miss it, so spending more time while I have it for a final moment.
I don't know, may join grrr goons when I return, not sure yet. lol But anything is possible. I just feel kind of thin this year since I knew I'd be headed for this break and so didn't want to get involved in anything that requires serious commitment. Been there, done that, know my limitations. But when I get back I should have full broadband again rather than this wireless broadband I've had to endure the past couple years (Sooo miss my DSL), so this will make more things possible anyway. Verizon is ebil btw, just needed to mention that. Freakin union maniacs. |

I idle in TS and chat a little (I'm more vocal in text), and join in on any fleets that are called / answer any pings that go out, if I'm available and feel like going on an op. It's pretty casual, and the only time I drop everything is when a corpmate is in trouble and needs help.
Like yourself I hate serious commitment. It's why I love this corp. So long as we fight as often as we can (it's why we're there anyway duh) and keep our towers fueled our boss doesn't care what we do.

Actually I'll most likely come back to focus on FW, I am just now finishing up my training with a second FW character. My fav mmo of all time was SWG, and for me that was all about FW (the GCW). But I'll probably keep my main loose and wiggly Boxers are awesome.

Yeah, I know about commitment, I was a founding member and events officer (organized weekly guild dungeon hunts) with one of the largest guilds in UO (and other games too). Not that that's a boastful thing, but it certainly was hell on earth Most of this year I've spent just training alts and working on standings. Chances are I'll probably even split them into multi-accounts later.

Liafcipe9000 wrote:When I find myself bored I sometimes drift into thoughts about the game I want to one day see released to the public. hah! well it's been more of a backup plan. I was a technician in the manufacturing sector for about a decade. Went to college while I worked, computer science maj, IT minor. Set-up technician, low-level programmer (sort of like drivers - low level - the machine level). High school was all about electronics so had that down already. The same machines used ay GM and Intel, and you worked in a 3D space like CAD, but also much like 3D modeling and animation. Dabbled in that at the time, but just became more of the flow as manufacturing collapsed in SoCal pretty hard. Been around. Fun stuff. If you like developing games, a lot of opportunities out there for you, even part-time, definitely worth getting into. |
