Only 66 percent of people in a 2005 European Union poll answered the basic astronomy answer correctly. However, both China and the EU fared significantly better (66 percent and 70 percent, respectively) on the question about human evolution.

In a survey compiled by the National Opinion Research Center from various sources, Americans seemed to generally support science research and expressed the greatest interest in new medical discoveries and local school issues related to science. They were least interested in space exploration, agricultural developments and international and foreign policy issues related to science.

OK, too many pages to go through and distribute Likes now due to being called out last Thursday afternoon on a Travel Card for a Union job 25 miles out of Barstow, CA, about 1 1/2 to 2 hr drive from Orange County, CA.

Got a Solar Plant being built in the high desert. Job is called out for 6 - 10's, pays $56 a day per Diem with $40 per hr Union Pipefitter pay scale. The first 8 hrs - M through F - is regular pay with the last 2 hrs each day as Overtime pay. Naturally 10 hrs on Saturday is all Overtime pay as well. Later on if the job requires more time to complete, then Sunday will be included which pays Doubletime.

Project is behind schedule due to being shut down a few times because of endangered wildlife and Native American Archeology sites being discovered.

Anyway I'm looking to make quite a bit of money pretty quick. Job duration should be at least 2 months for me, maybe 3 months. After that I'm gonna pull my Travel card and go back to my home Local in Los Angeles cuz I definitely don't wanna be out there in the summer months.

You are a crazy man.

that's not efficient, not at all. you shouldn't clear your total system wattage by more than 25% with a PSU. unless you have a bunch of hard drives (conventional hard disk, not SSD). believe me I was tempted to get a monster 1200W, but I went with an 850W... which is probably the better choice over a 650W, because I use a disproportionately high amount of 5V..

what motherboard do you have, what power supply are you using, and how have you used the connectors on the power supply? if you have a modular PSU, you should give the video card its own connector... heck, try giving everything an exclusive connector. people will use fewer cables to reduce clutter, but then you begin hitting current limiters. if you're supplying power to your video card with a cable that is jumpered, you've made a mistake.

22(f) and bright, shiny sun today... So I spent the afternoon in a nice shadowed riding barn where it was five degrees colder, watching my nephew make a recalcitrant sorrel gelding* behave himself. Also watching a piebald mare shift her riders to the arena floor.


*Nephew is 4'10." Gelding is 15-3. Never bet against the short guy.

Still too damn cold. There was a time in my life when id love that kind of cold. But afte 5 years of desert ive lost the love of cold. Ive lost the love of heat too so id just rather be comfy.

And yeah, it is a dell (Alienware specifically).

I've tried a LOT of drivers. From the most recent, to the ones that came with the computer (factory image re-install of entire computer).

I can stress test the GPU all I like at it passes just fine, but crashes when I load a game. So I'm thinking the memory on the card fried while I was playing Skyrim (so.. the GPU passes the tests, but when you tried to load a full game's worth of textures it dies). We'll see what happens when I swap the cards.

How much f that cake is the tax man going to get though?

Not so much that I love the cold, as it is that I've grown up around so many temperature extremes that they just don't bother me that much any more. Heat, humidity, cold... The only thing that really bugs me is 'arid.'
