In a survey compiled by the National Opinion Research Center from various sources, Americans seemed to generally support science research and expressed the greatest interest in new medical discoveries and local school issues related to science. and kai, look at my last post? i'm up now, curious what might be going on with your comp.
also what PCI slot are you using the card in. if it's not fast enough, you might have problems for that reason
(is your computer like a dell or something, with monster aftermarket stuff put in it)
if it's having issues when it starts *any* game, i'm thinking power or data throughput, meaning a slow PCI slot PCI 2.0 when the card is a 3.0, which the 680 is Rainfleet on Twitch |

The first 8 hrs - M through F - is regular pay with the last 2 hrs each day as Overtime pay. Naturally 10 hrs on Saturday is all Overtime pay as well. Later on if the job requires more time to complete, then Sunday will be included which pays Doubletime. Project is behind schedule due to being shut down a few times because of endangered wildlife and Native American Archeology sites being discovered. Anyway I'm looking to make quite a bit of money pretty quick. Job duration should be at least 2 months for me, maybe 3 months. After that I'm gonna pull my Travel card and go back to my home Local in Los Angeles cuz I definitely don't wanna be out there in the summer months. Way too much heat for this Beach Bum. Yeah, all the voltages look fine (I'd certainly hope so with a 1200watt PSU) that's not efficient, not at all. you shouldn't clear your total system wattage by more than 25% with a PSU. unless you have a bunch of hard drives (conventional hard disk, not SSD). believe me I was tempted to get a monster 1200W, but I went with an 850W... which is probably the better choice over a 650W, because I use a disproportionately high amount of 5V.. //at full tilt/10 clients my real-time power use is around 460W. rigwhat motherboard do you have, what power supply are you using, and how have you used the connectors on the power supply? if you have a modular PSU, you should give the video card its own connector... heck, try giving everything an exclusive connector. people will use fewer cables to reduce clutter, but then you begin hitting current limiters. if you're supplying power to your video card with a cable that is jumpered, you've made a mistake. do it, do it now
I was going to suggest that too, but got side-tracked on other RL stuffs.
In one of my old computers, after cleaning and rewiring stuff, I suddenly started suffering from random crashes in my games. I opened my computer back up, and swapped a couple power cables around, and the problems went away. After doing some reading later-on, I suspect I had too much load on one of the lines, but fortunately that PSU had a second rail to pull current from.
My PSU is a little bigger than I need currently as well - about 800w with only one video card. I keep meaning to put a second card in, at least for extra CUDA/Physx support, but haven't gotten around to it as I haven't played many games in which it'd be beneficial.

Pain-in-the-backside horses are useful for intermediate students - teaches them to exert authority and take the lead. My nephew is getting ready to advance to the next level of training, because he owns all the intermediate horses - including Callie, whom is a real ***** of a mare and put one of her riders off into the barn wall today.
Now Callie... BBQ sauce is calling her name. Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.

Ya and there is your problem ...
Alienware is just over priced crap imo, I am willing to bet for the price you paid for that you could have had a custom build a lot better.
I am a strong believer in building ones own rigg is way better (and cheaper) then most of the prefab PC's on the market. I have been building my own rigs for roughly 15 years. |

I can stress test the GPU all I like at it passes just fine, but crashes when I load a game. So I'm thinking the memory on the card fried while I was playing Skyrim (so.. the GPU passes the tests, but when you tried to load a full game's worth of textures it dies). ehh so something good happened and something bad happened.
the second arrangement is done
I solved the power issue by drawing it from a molex on the computer. pretty straightforward. the displays power up with the computer, and I don't need all those powered USB hubs. now i just need to find that in faceplate form.
but there was a casualty :-(
one of the adapters had a dirty connector, which caused a little too much resistance... and melted part of the connector ribbon when i turned it all on. I've stayed in close contact with the man who makes the adapters, and I will ask him to repair it. I'll also send him pictures of the melted ribbon and see if he has it available as a spare.
i'll order a completely new set of monitors and stands in a couple weeks, and do it up nice and hidden-like. it will be much cheaper the second time around, when i order parts on ebay.
I like to think i'm prototyping, and that was my excuse for spending the $. this weekend was north of $350.
I also soldered for the first time evar! Rainfleet on Twitch |
