Ok, I just want to make a quick statement, hopefully it will help explain things a little better.
I understand that this move might seem unfair to some of you, but the forums are undergoing a pretty big clean up and we all have to follow the rules. In the long run it will end up being better for everyone, with everything in its place. All we ask is that people be patient and respect the rules so that we can all enjoy the forums.
Changes do not all happen at once, and the first ones to happen will always seem jarring, but everything that follows is all part of the overall plan to clean up the forums as a whole. As always, with any forum, if you see something that is out of place or if someone is breaking the forum rules, please make use of the report function and let one us know about it or file a petition.
If we all work together we can have everything ship shape and running smoothly that much sooner. This community has always worked best when everyone works together. From now on that means our new Community Team at CCP, the members of CCL and all of you, the people who make this place what it is.
As for this thread it will continue to thrive; likes will still be given out, random discussions will still be had and hugs and coffee will still be dispensed every morning to those who want it.

Unfortunately many posters ignore anything that is not in General Discussion unless it pertains specifically to them (COAD, Market Discussion, etc). OOPE is perceived to be a graveyard where bad threads come to die and to be brutally honest the perception is right, look at the average number of replies to each thread that actually started in OOPE and compare that to the average in GD.
This particular thread is light hearted, rarely trolled and always amusing, it is also the first port of call for many posters when they come to the forums.
While I understand the reasoning behind clearing out some of the dross in the forums, and there is plenty of it, moving this thread is a very high profile way of doing it, it will be a very unpopular move and I expect to see plenty of similar threads spring up in it's place as a means of protest.
