Took me a good hour of tweaking the weather to get those wingtip vapors to show up on take off. I also had to find something with high enough wing loading for them to form as well.
The Su-25 seemed to do the trick just fine along with billowing out some black engine smoke. Now I just need to tone the fog down a bit.

I have not really messed around too much around low clouds like that but they do seem to form a bit earlier than normal from the little that I have observed them. I'll have to look into it some more tomorrow.
I'm hoping that DCS 2.0 has the vapor that forms over the top of the wings during high Gs. We are currently missing that and it makes me sad

Over the past year or two there's been a lot of changes made that have had a negative impact on my game play experience. Too many to list here.

Hopefully I can write this so you'll get the general idea without it turning into a full fledged novel.
Dumbing down the game may be too vague of an expression but it's definitely an appropriate description for what's been happening lately. In the process of doing that CCP has been steadily removing various player made businesses from the game by removing the specialization aspect of various career paths, such as Exploration, Invention, Manufacturing, Standings, etc. Even skill training to pilot ships has been de-specialized.
Various changes made to game mechanics have had far reaching effects on most older players. In my opinion Soundwave & Co are to blame for a lot of it. They pushed for major game changes in various careers under the guise of bolstering Industry, Trade, Mining, etc which ultimately made ganking very easy and profitable, turning it into a major game play activity, especially with the addition of 'Security Tags' and overpowered glass cannons.. Probably the most significant aspect of that is the removal of consequences for actions which allows more reward without risk.
I could go into much more detail on each topic I listed as well as add more topics to the list, such as the constant nerfing of PvE loot drops or CCP ignoring bugs and unfinished content that's been in the game for years or the various promises that are broken each year.. I'm starting to lose sight of my original intention which was to keep this simple.
I hope I've made my point cuz I don't wanna go into detail how those and many other changes have had a negative impact on my game play experience. I will say doing this is starting to bring back ill feelings inside of me.
I'm actually trying to rekindle my zeal to log into the game more often so dwelling on all this negative stuff isn't helping.

Many of people seem to focus on just one thing and hate CCP for it. Which I don't get.
But a lot of various things make up the issue for you, and I can see where you're coming from. Totally.
So do accept my apology for pushing the topic; I hope that [something] piques your interest enough in order to have fun again.
It probably means nothing, but for me,
if I was ever bored enough that I could not find the interest for the game,
It meant that I was focusing too much on what I usually indulge in.
When I logged in, I found that regaining my interest came with doing something very unorthodox.

So surely there's something outside of your normal gameplay, which you can explore?
