I am addicted to debating and arguing. It really is about as bad as Alice's gambling addiction. It's just the thrill and it gets my blood rushing. The thought of actually swaying someone to one side or the other on any given topic just by presenting a strongly stated argument with a few supporting facts regardless of how on true that side may be. And, to tactfully do this by convincing them they were the ones that choose to switch sides all on their own. There is also a right side and a wrong side. I can concede to which ever side as long as it is presented in a logical way that makes sense to me with more supporting facts than myside. I know, it's a horrible habit. So It's a bit hard trying to figure out what to write on the appeal as to why I was denied. I'm trying to trawl through the Student Grant Scheme document, and I can see why lawyers get paid so much to try and read crappy government documents.

If you do qualify and have all documentation to support, I would right a general letter stating that you do meet the qualifications and demand to have statement that gives the reason(s) for denial. Thanks for the advice, this the first time I've been allowed to even apply for a grant since I only became a naturalized citizen in August. I asked at the institution advice centre and they don't really know I printed out the appeals form and it does have a section to write what I want, so I'll ask for them to give the reasons as to why I was denied a maintenance grant.

Funny you should mention this as I have had an idea now for the past couple of years. A network capable coffee pot that can be programmed remotely via browser.
